Book excerpt: A CHERUB agent must choose between the agency and his own beliefs in the twelfth and final book of the CHERUB series, which Rick Riordan says has “plenty of action.” CHERUB agents are highly trained, extremely talented—and all under the age of seventeen. For official purposes, these agents do not exist. They are sent out on missions to spy on terrorists, hack into crucial documents, and gather intel on global threats—all without gadgets or weapons. It is an extremely dangerous job, but these agents have one crucial advantage: Adults never suspect that teens are spying on them. After a tsunami causes massive devastation to a tropical island, its governor sends in the bulldozers to knock down villages, replacing them with luxury hotels. Guarding the corrupt governor’s family isn’t James Adams’s idea of the perfect mission, especially as it’s going to be his last as a CHERUB agent. And then retired colleague Kyle Blueman comes up with an unofficial and highly dangerous plan of his own. James must choose between loyalty to CHERUB, and loyalty to his oldest friend.

Book excerpt: There is a light in the world through Yeshua and his power and in meditation we can understand the route to infinity, the route to the Eternal realm of light. However it will not be an easy path, because the fallen Cherub does not accept that we follow the path of light, he will always use our Yetzer Hara, our negative self to block us. The light is in you... The fallen Cherub cannot touch you... When you start meditating you will understand the war that comes from the beginning of the cosmos, the war between light and chaos and then you will understand the true drama of the universe, which did not begin on earth but in parallel worlds when cherubs wanted to be more than the Creator. Here I mentioned in the plural, because the word cherub is already plural of cherub and in the cosmos there are millions of worlds affected by this cosmic war. The revolt started with a cherub, but he soon dragged billions and billions of cherubs, angels and other classes of celestial beings with him. The battle is fierce and in meditation we can understand this and understand that the Apocalypse will bring this war to earth.

Book excerpt: Hector, a vile man possessed by legions of demons, trembled as he watched the gruesome demonic creature shudder while its body gyrated from the strain of syphoning the soft, delicate internal organs from its prey. The creature lifted its repugnant head and bellowed a ghastly roar as it sucked in one last drop of bloody carnage. Then it carelessly tossed the decimated carcass across the rancid swamp to land on the massive pile of broken bones, petrified skin, and excrement. Terrified but consumed with evil, Hector and his demons, slinked away from the swamp pond and began to devise a wicked plan for the small town of Ocean Breeze where he grew up. Tia Menéndez is an ordinary high school student in Ocean Breeze who suddenly finds her life turned upside down when her friends are missing after a spring break party. At the same time, Tia discovers that she is a cherub-a specialized angel that God has created and blessed with extraordinary powers. With the help of two powerful angels, Azimi and Alcander, Tia is compelled to begin a search to find her friends before something horrible happens to them. As this journey begins, Tia meets two boys: Garrett, a well-balanced Christian on fire for God, and Blaine, who spends his life in a drug-induced stupor. With Garrett and Blaine tugging at Tia's heart, the three unlikely teenagers fight a battle with Hector and his beast, demonic creatures, and angelic beings for domination of their souls.

Book Canaan and Israel in Antiquity A Textbook on History and Religion

Download or read book Canaan and Israel in Antiquity A Textbook on History and Religion written by K. L. Noll and published by A&C Black. This book was released on 2013-03-14 with total page 456 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This comprehensive classic textbook represents the most recent approaches to the biblical world by surveying Palestine's social, political, economic, religious and ecological changes from Palaeolithic to Roman eras. Designed for beginners with little knowledge of the ancient world, and with copious illustrations and charts, it explains how and why academic study of the past is undertaken, as well as the differences between historical and theological scholarship and the differences between ancient and modern genres of history writing. Classroom tested chapters emphasize the authenticity of the Bible as a product of an ancient culture, and the many problems with the biblical narrative as a historical source. Neither "maximalist" nor "minimalist'" it is sufficiently general to avoid confusion and to allow the assignment of supplementary readings such as biblical narratives and ancient Near Eastern texts. This new edition has been fully revised, incorporating new graphics and English translations of Near Eastern inscriptions. New material on the religiously diverse environment of Ancient Israel taking into account the latest archaeological discussions brings this book right up to date.

Book excerpt: Aglow from a distance was the Pearly Gate. The Pearly Gate was a mile long. Armed Cherubs stood guard by the holy gate. They were three thousand warrior-angels in number. A male Archangel, whose name was Ironodum, was their leader. His Deputy, a female Cherub, was an esteemed heavenly messenger with a Deputy-Arch' attached to her title. And her name was Gateagu. Based on her meritorious valor and steadfast loyalty, she was rapidly elevated from a cherub to a seraph, and then to the Deputy Archangel. The King gave them their names, meant to reflect their serious responsibilities as the leaders of the Gate Guards. Seven roads made their way from the wide gate to both the Holy Shrine and the Most-Esteemed Thrones.

Book VATICAN ON A ROMAN HOLIDAY

Download or read book VATICAN ON A ROMAN HOLIDAY written by Christopher Fernandes and published by Notion Press. This book was released on 2019-01-03 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Believe right, live right! Vatican on a Roman Holiday is about the Christian view of spirituality, theological philosophy and the purpose and meaning of life. It is a layman's guide to the core of Christ's teaching. It challenges the Vatican on key doctrinal issues and church practices that have rendered the vast multitude of Catholics across geographies in bondage to the sin-punishment model preached by almost all known religions. In spite of being financially endowed, the Vatican is squandering its plentiful resources on mere pomp and rituals, like the Sanhedrin, rather than fostering faith in Christ. The book exposes the dereliction by the Vatican when it comes to the healing ministry. There is no evidence of it on the ground and so the Vatican surreptitiously denies the poor, the needy and the homebound a vital and free spiritual resource, namely the Holy Spirit. The book blasts the sacrament of confession as a cruel joke played on Catholics for centuries, hoodwinking them into believing that their fate does not look great without confessing to a priest. The book also decodes the last book of the Bible, Revelation, which is one of the most complex books in the scriptures. But many write it off as a flight of fancy. The Vatican has done precious little to explain its compelling message. While the scriptural content is authentic, the book weaves a simple but striking fictional backstory to unravel the ultimate ascension of the laity as the ones who will hold the clergy accountable and not vice versa which the Vatican has been doing for centuries. The book clearly spells out how the world we now see will end and what comes after that. It is a book that explains and enlightens in an easy-to-read conversational style.
