Book History of Ancient India Revisited A Vedic Puranic View

Download or read book History of Ancient India Revisited A Vedic Puranic View written by Omesh K. Chopra and published by BlueRose Publishers. This book was released on 2020-03-02 with total page 484 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Vedic-Puranic literature as well as archaeological, geological, historical, linguistic, and literary accounts have been reviewed to establish the various cultures that evolved in ancient India from about 3500 BCE to the Mahabharata War (1450 BCE). The book describes various misconceptions, e.g., the myth about an Aryan invasion. The following markers are used to establish the dates and geographical locations of various cultures: (i) The rise in sea levels due to melting of land-based snow after the last Ice Age. (ii) Migration of the Dravidian people from the lost continent of Kumari Kandam that submerged under the Indian Ocean. (iii) The dates for the start of farming, use of kiln-baked bricks, domestication of horses, and metal working in the Indian subcontinent. (iv) The dates when Sarasvati River dried up and the Mahabharata War occurred. The book notes that asva-containing or rath-containing names could not have existed before horses were domesticated or chariots were in use. The book also notes that Mathura Krsna is different from Dwarka Krsna; the two are separated by more then 1000 years. During Mathura Krsna’s time, conflicts were settled by hand-to-hand combat or with the use of a mace. In contrast, during Dwarka Krsna’s time, metal arms were used.

Book excerpt: Most Indians believe that the Purāṇic accounts of Indian history are just figment of human imagination. They fail to explain why would thousands of people create dynastic king-lists of fictitious families consisting of thousands of names and then remember them for several millenniums. In reality they have left behind a record of their families/tribes and social. moral and religious customs. The Vedic-Purāṇic literature as well as archeological, geological, historical and linguistic accounts have been reviewed to establish ancient history of the Indian subcontinent. The chronological and geographical information related to the various cultures/tribes were established using the dates when farming, use of kiln-baked bricks or metalworking started; horses were domesticated; chariots were invented; Sarasvatī River dried up; and Mahabharata War took place.

River Saraswati flows in the Aryavart with speed of a horse, coming down from the great Himawant and brings to her dwellers prosperity and fertility. It's a tale of our forefathers, beginning and an end of an ancient civilization which buried itself with great knowledge and many Kingdoms, with their stories which we are still unfolding.Epic tale of King Gavi is one such tale complete with all human virtues and vices. It starts with revenge, followed by greed and gets over with a lesson which mankind learns and unlearns. Most of all it's a story of a young man who achieves the unimaginable, who was just a commoner of Aushni city and made a mercurial rise towards its throne.A new metal is discovered in Aryavart; shiny, sharp, tough, you can make just about anything from it- Ayas. Every King of Aryavart wants to be the owner of its mines. As Ayas is progress, ayas is power; ayas will help create most destructive weapons, which will in turn make any King the great conqueror of Aryavart. Gavi, as well, covets to create an enormous empire by taking control of the newly discovered metal- Ayas.Bhavya and Maya two very important women of Gavi's life- who will stay with him? And who will leave? Will Gavi take control of all the mines of Aryavart? Will Gavi conquer all the Kingdoms? And win the last war with Asandivat? What lies at the end, victory or complete destruction? Will the discovery of ayas the new metal will be the reason for the disappearance of river Saraswati from the face of Mother Earth?

Book excerpt: The sixth book of the Ramayana of Valmiki, the Yuddhakanda, recounts the final dramatic war between the forces of good led by the exiled prince Rama, and the forces of evil commanded by the arch demon Ravana. The hero Rama's primary purpose in the battle is to rescue the abducted princess Sita and destroy the demon king. However, the confrontation also marks the turning point for the divine mission of the Ramavatara, the incarnation of Lord Visnu as a human prince, who will restore righteousness to a world on the brink of chaos. The book ends with the gods' revelation to Rama of his true divine nature, his emotional reunion with his beloved wife, his long-delayed consecration as king of Kosala, and his restoration of a utopian age. The Yuddhakanda contains some of the most extraordinary events and larger-than-life characters to be found anywhere in world literature. This sixth volume in the critical edition and translation of the Valmiki Ramayana includes an extensive introduction, exhaustive notes, and a comprehensive bibliography.

Book Indian Alchemy

Download or read book Indian Alchemy written by Srinivasan Kalyanaraman and published by . This book was released on 2004 with total page 356 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Description: The book is an epoch-making work - a paradigm-shift in Vedic studies, which identifies soma as electrum (gold-silver metallic compound). Soma is referred to in the Rgveda as the soul of the yajna (atmayajnasya). The path-breaking identification is based on textual evidence and a penetrating analysis of the Indian alchemical tradition, spanning nearly five millennia. The author is also the discoverer of the integrating role-played by the mighty Sarasvati river adored in the Rgveda as the best of mothers, best of rivers and best of Goddesses. Sarasvati and soma are no longer mythology but relevant to present-day children, respectively, as the repository of groundwater sanctuaries in North-West India and the metallurgical tradition starting with the bronze age civilization, c. 3000 BC. Sarasvati and soma are the symbols of the great Indian traditions of Devi worship and personification and deification of natural, material phenomena. The Tirthas along the rivers are reminders of the critical nature of water management problems all over India and soma as an integral part of the yajna process, is the embodiment of the scientific, technological and materialist temper of ancient India.
