Book excerpt: This report presents the results of detailed Air Force occupational survey of the Automatic Tracking Radar (AFSC 303X3) Specialty. The report was requested by HQ ATC/Electronics Training Division (TTOK). Priority Working Group (PWG) of the USAF Occupational Measurement Center. Authority for conducting specialty surveys is contained in AFR 35-2. Computer products upon which this report is based are available for use by operations and training officials. Seven clusters (including 18 jobs) and 5 independent job types were identified in the career ladder structure analysis. Each cluster was directly involved in operations and maintenance duties related to a specific radar band of equipment, radar support equipment, or in duties related to supervisory and management functions. The independent job types focused on areas of radar operations and maintenance, as well as on supervisory and management duties.
