This report presents some basic biological information on northern shrimp. It describes the shrimp fishery (landings, total allowable catch, effort) on the eastern Scotian Shelf, and provides an assessment of the resource status based on commercial catch rate indices obtained from trawler logbooks, samples from commercial trawl and trap catches, a shrimp survey, an experimental recruitment survey, and logs from the experimental trap fishery. It also provides an outlook for the stock.
