Download or read book Amazing Assemblies for Primary Schools written by Mike Kent and published by Crown House Publishing Ltd. This book was released on 2016-04-08 with total page 116 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Primary school assemblies should be exciting and interesting. They should allow children to share in valuable learning experiences. Over his 30 years as a head teacher, Mike Kent has developed amazing assemblies that do just this, and he shares them in this new practical resource. Amazing Assemblies for Primary Schools consists of twenty-five very special teacher-led assemblies: ideal for teachers, head teachers and, indeed, anyone who is required to lead assemblies. The assemblies have been designed with the busy teacher or school leader in mind and are really simple to prepare. The detailed instructions outline the resources and preparation needed. Every assembly is straightforward and uses materials that are readily available in school. You'll discover how to fascinate a group of children using little more than a pair of scissors and a few sheets of paper. Just how strong is an eggshell? How can you pick up a bottle without using your hands? How can you make a coin move without touching it? The answers to these questions, and many more, are revealed in this amazing resource: take your children on a journey of hands-on learning and discovery. The tried-and-tested assemblies are ideal for presenting to large groups of children and all have an interactive element, encouraging children to participate as helpers. They cover a vast range of subjects, drawing cross-curricular links from across the primary curriculum. There are science experiments, art demonstrations, problems to solve, word games, maths puzzles, quizzes and much more. Each assembly centres on a theme, which can be developed in many different ways afterwards: follow-up ideas make it easy to explore the learning further. Children can try the ideas themselves in class or at home. Although the assemblies are primarily aimed at Key Stage 2, many are also eminently suited to Key Stage 1. Each assembly outlines the materials and preparation needed, gives step-by-step instructions for introducing and delivering the assembly and offers plenty of follow up ideas. Planning and delivering an innovative, child-centred assembly has never been easier! Amazing Assemblies for Primary Schools is an ideal practical resource for anybody required to take primary school assemblies.
Download or read book One Assembly written by Jonathan Leeman and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2020-03-26 with total page 118 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many churches are switching to the multisite or multiservice models to manage crowded sanctuaries due to growing attendance. This solution seems sensible in the short term, but too often churches adopt this model without taking into consideration what the Bible says about it. Illuminating the importance of physical togetherness as a way to protect the gospel, this book argues that maintaining a single assembly best embodies the unity the church possesses in Jesus Christ. Jonathan Leeman considers a series of biblical, theological, and pastoral arguments that ask us to stop and examine intuitions or assumptions about what a church is. He reorients our minds to a biblical definition of church, offering examples of churches that have thrived with a single service at a single site and compelling alternatives for those looking to solve the complications that come with a growing church.
Download or read book The Zohar written by Michael Laitman and published by Laitman Kabbalah Publishers. This book was released on 2009-01-01 with total page 522 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The wisdom of Kabbalah teaches us how to perceive and live in the reality that spreads before us. It is a systematic method that has evolved over thousands of years, nurtured by individuals whose task was to ensure that the true wisdom would be given to those ready to receive it. The Book of Zohar (The Book of Radiance) is an ageless source of wisdom and the basis for all Kabbalistic literature. Since its appearance nearly 2,000 years ago, it has been the primary, and often only, source used by Kabbalists. Written in a unique and metaphorical language. The Book of Zohar enriches our understanding of reality and expands our worldview. However, this text should not be read in an ordinary fashion. We should patiently and repeatedly read and think about each sentence as we try to penetrate the author's feelings. We should read it slowly and try to extract the nuances of the text. Although the text deals with one subject only-how to relate to the Creator-it approaches it from different angles. This allows each of us to find the particular phrase or word that will carry us into the depths of this profound and timeless wisdom.

Download or read book Legislative Assemblies written by Shane Martin and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2023-11-09 with total page 433 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: By whatever name they are known (Parliaments, Legislatures, or Assemblies, to name but three) legislative assemblies in democratic societies face the twin challenges of institutional capacity and accountability to their citizens. In addressing these challenges, assemblies vary in the extent to which they serve the respective interests of three critical sets of actors: their members, party leaders, and voters. In this book, Shane Martin and Kaare W. Strøm identify three ideal types of democratic assemblies - the members' assembly, the leaders' assembly, and the voters' assembly - and analyze national legislative assemblies in the world's 68 most populous democracies, from Finland to Papua New Guinea, in light of these models. Based on extensive new cross-national data, they trace the implications of the three assembly types for the design, internal organization, resources, and powers of democratic national assemblies, develop indices of each assembly type, and score each of the 68 legislative assemblies on these indices. The analysis of legislative re-election rates in these countries reveals that the fate of incumbents depends on member resources as well as on leadership control, but is ultimately constrained by voter confidence. In conclusion, the authors discuss the past and future trajectories of legislative assemblies, including their susceptibility to democratic backsliding.
