Book As a husband I will love lead and provide

Download or read book As a husband I will love lead and provide written by Lambrecht, Isabel and published by Intl Food Policy Res Inst. This book was released on 2016-03-11 with total page 32 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Improving women’s access to land is high on the agricultural policy agenda of both governmental and non-governmental agencies. Yet, the determinants and rationale of gendered access to land are not well understood. This paper argues that gender relations are more than the outcomes of negotiations within households. It explains the importance of social norms, perceptions, and formal and informal rules shaping access to land for male and female farmers at four levels: (1) the household/family, (2) the community, (3) the state, and (4) the market. The framework is applied to Ghana. Norms on household and family organization and on men’s and women’s responsibilities and capabilities play a key role in gendered allocation of resources. However, these norms and perceptions are dynamic and evolve jointly with the development of markets and changes in values of inputs such as labor and land. Theoretical models that represent the gendered distribution of assets as the result of intrahousehold bargaining should be revised, and extrahousehold factors should be included. From a policy perspective, laws that ensure gender equality in terms of inheritance and a more gender-equitable distribution of property upon divorce can play a key role in improving women’s property rights. Yet, their impact may be limited where customary rights dominate and social norms and rules continue to discriminate according to gender.

Book excerpt: “If you’re at the end of your relationship rope, reach for Radical Acceptance.” —Elle A refreshing new approach to romantic partnerships, grounded in the importance of unconditional love that shows how “prioritizing your partner [creates] true happiness in your relationship” (John Gray, PhD, author of Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus). Loving the lovable parts of your partner is easy. He’s funny, charming, smart, successful, and kind. He’s perfect. Except for when he is not. Like when he is late. Or short-tempered. Or lazy. Or he’s incorrectly loaded the dishwasher (again). Maybe he feels like the most frustrating person on the planet. Or maybe you’re simply not feeling heard or seen. Or loved enough. It’s these proverbial unlovable parts that make loving all of him so tough. But imagine if you let go of your itch to fix, judge, improve, or control your partner. Imagine if you replaced judgement with compassion and empathy. Tremendous empowerment and liberation come from loving someone—and being loved—for who we really are. This practice is called Radical Acceptance. Whether you’re looking for Mr. Right or are already with him, this is your powerful five-step guide to attaining life’s ultimate prize: unconditional love. You’ll learn how to increase your emotional resilience, feel more confident, determine whether you’re settling, quiet those doubt-filled voices in your head, get out of that endless cycle of dead-end dates, reduce conflict, and build a deeply fulfilling, affirming relationship—all through highly actionable advice. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “This book walks each of us through the reality checks we need in order to have the marriage we want!” —Shaunti Feldhahn, social researcher and best-selling author of For Women Only In today’s workplace, women are often rewarded for having type A personalities: driven, demanding, ambitious, and strong. Yet when it comes to their marriages, those same traits can backfire. After all, no one goes into marriage hoping for a promotion. What is a wife to do? April Cassidy knows this struggle firsthand. She thought she was a great Christian wife and begged God to make her passive husband into a more loving, involved, godly leader. Instead, God opened her eyes to changes that she needed to make, such as laying down her desire for control and offering genuine, unconditional respect—not just love—to her husband. Cassidy’s conclusions may be as startling to readers as they were to her, but The Peaceful Wife shares how she and many others have learned to reorient their lives to biblical commands—resulting in healthier, happier marriages. In the end, you’ll find The Peaceful Wife a powerful path to God’s design for women to live in full submission to Christ as Lord.

Book Men Are from Mars Women Are from Venus

Download or read book Men Are from Mars Women Are from Venus written by John Gray and published by Harper Collins. This book was released on 1993-04-23 with total page 312 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Popular marriage counselor and seminar leader John Gray provides a unique, practical and proven way for men and women to communicate and relate better by acknowledging the differences between them. Once upon a time Martians and Venusians met, fell in love, and had happy relationships together because they respected and accepted their differences. Then they came to earth and amnesia set in: they forgot they were from different planets. Using this metaphor to illustrate the commonly occurring conflicts between men and women, Gray explains how these differences can come between the sexes and prohibit mutually fulfilling loving relationships. Based on years of successful counseling of couples, he gives advice on how to counteract these differences in communication styles, emotional needs and modes of behavior to promote a greater understanding between individual partners. Gray shows how men and women react differently in conversation and how their relationships are affected by male intimacy cycles ("get close", "back off"), and female self-esteem fluctuations ("I'm okay", "I'm not okay"). He encourages readers to accept the other gender's particular way of expressing love, and helps men and women learn how to fulfill each other's emotional needs. With practical suggestions on how to reduce conflict, crucial information on how to interpret a partner's behavior and methods for preventing emotional "trash from the past" from invading new relationships, Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus is a valuable tool for couples who want to develop deeper and more satisfying relationships with their partners.

Download or read book HUSBANDS LOVE YOUR WIVES written by Edward D. Andrews and published by Christian Publishing House. This book was released on 2017-07-13 with total page 177 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In an era where marriages face challenges from all sides, "HUSBANDS LOVE Your WIVES: How Should Husbands Treat Their Wives?" offers a Scriptural roadmap for men striving to emulate the love and leadership demonstrated by Christ. As the Apostle Paul has outlined, the husband is the head of the wife just as Christ is the head of the church. This headship is not one of tyranny or arbitrary rule but one characterized by love, respect, and spiritual guidance. In this comprehensive guide, each chapter focuses on a distinct principle or practice crucial for husbands to internalize. The book begins by laying the foundation with "The Head of a Woman Is the Man," where the Biblical view of a husband’s role is carefully examined. Following chapters delve into gaining deep respect from one's spouse, the two keys to a lasting marriage, and how to build a strong and happy marital relationship. Through chapters like "Husbands—Recognize Christ’s Headship," the book underscores the essentiality of acknowledging the ultimate Headship of Christ over every Christian institution, including the family. Understanding the weight of this responsibility, the book provides "Wise Guidance for Married Couples" and elaborates on "Godly Conduct Within the Family Circle," helping men to lead their families in accordance with Biblical precepts. Children are not left out of the equation. With a chapter dedicated to training your child from infancy, the book provides essential tools to help instill a love for God and His Word from a young age. In a world filled with destructive influences, the book equips husbands to "Protect Your Family From Destructive Influences," emphasizing the role of the husband as the spiritual watchman of his household. With a view that a loving husband cultivates a wife who is "Dearly Loved," the book offers not just theoretical knowledge but practical steps in showing self-sacrificing love, maintaining peace in the household, and doing one’s part to promote a happy family life. Drawing from an objective Historical-Grammatical method of Scriptural interpretation, "HUSBANDS LOVE Your WIVES" is a must-read for every Christian husband committed to fulfilling his God-ordained role in the marriage. It is not only a book for married men but also for those contemplating marriage, as it sets the stage for what God expects and how immense the rewards are—both in this life and in the life to come—when His design for marital roles is followed. Whether you are a newlywed seeking guidance or a husband of many years wishing to enhance your marital relationship, this book serves as a timeless resource grounded firmly in the Word of God.
