Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Chapter FourThe reasons why and how AI can avoid wage inequality to the organization laboursWhat do wages buy? How work force responses to an efficiency wage, productivity, turnover. For example, given the choice of what cause the wage inequality of difference between the America and German employment policies. I would take the German goverment policy system for example because it is more social and human. Otherwise, I would take the America government policy system because American government understands capitalism of the free market. Such as German and America is one heavy industry manufacturing country, it is famous to manufacture car, steels, boat, etc. different steel manufacturing product. So, if robotics are popular to be used to manufacture any products which are needed to use steel to manufacture. Then, German and America factory labors who need to learn how to apply robotic to cooperate with them to manufacture any kinds of steel products more efficiently. So, it is simple that German and America heavy industry manufacturers can easily to evaluate whether wage determination to whom when every labor individual wage is needed to be raised, because he/she can cooperate with robotic to manufacture any kinds of steel products more efficiently. SO, the lower efficient labors won't ought be raised her/his wage easily. SO, roboic working participation will bring either raising efficiency to some factory workers when they can learn how to cooperate with robotic more easily or not raising efficiency to some factory workers when they can not learn how to cooperate with with robotic difficultlyHow robotic brings productive efficiency benefits to labors as these both view points as below:First, on the robotic working participation view point, I think, due to the nowadays technological development factor, we need more labours who need own highly qualified and skillful labours need to be motivated than in past employees who did not need own highly qualified and did not need motivated. Besides, in this regard, a preventative robotic working participation strategy is the best strategy to reduce the wage inequality, because the manager can apply robotic participation to every labor individual job in order to evaluate how much every worker actual ability owns either he/she can raise efficiency or he/she can not raise efficiency from robotic assistance . For example, these three countries, such as Japan, China and America were , it would be a different robotic working participation to every worker individual working matter strategy to avoid themselve any employees feel wage inequality habitually , due to none robotic participation with their jobs in their manufacturing processes.

Book excerpt: This book divides two part: Artificial intelligence how raises efficiencies as well as how and why it can be influenced to bring to avoid wage inequality welfare. This book part first is concerned how to apply artificial intelligent machine or robot to raise productivive efficiency in factory. I shall assume that (AI) robotic can assist labours to raise productivities and bring raising efficiency. Then it brings these both questions as below: Research question: How to apply (AI) technology to raise labor efficiencies or productivities?Research question: Why and How (AI) technology can help employers to evaluate or measure whom has higher or lower productive efficiencies in order to evaluate the more reasonable or equal wages to every worker when it applies (AI) technology to assist labours to manufacture any products? The first part is intended to explain why and how (AI) technology and raising productivity or efficiency has close relationship. First part gives some artificial intelligence technologic concepts to indicate why and how (AI) can raise labor productive efficiency to assist labor to work in factories. This book first part is suitable to any managers have interest to learn how to apply (AI) technological productive method to achieve economic benefit in factories . In this part, the main important aim, I give examples to explain how to apply (AI) technology to raise labor productive efficiencies really. This book second part to explain why and how AI can bring advantages to organizations to reduce wage more inequality when they apply AI technology to assist labor to raise efficiencies. I shall indicate Japan, China, America three countries to explain they applied (AI) technology to assist labors to productivities, then they can raise efficiencies, even avoid the wage inequality causes. For example, why and how (AI) can reduce regular/non-regular wage gap when Japanese and Chinese manufacturing firms apply (AI) technology to raises efficiency as well as causes the wage is paid more fair to their labours. Also, I shall explain why and how any country's firm will bring more efficiency and more fair wage equality when they applied (AI) technology to assist labours to produce. Finally, I write this book aims to explain how the process of (AI) technologic robots field develops to assist employees to raise productive efficiencies. I shall indicate how and why book supplier and entertainment theme park and educational service example to explain how these service industries can apply (AI) robotic machines to assist employees whether (AI) can assist raise efficiencies as well as how and why these service industries can apply (AI) to assist teachers or entertainment service staff or warehouse book printing staff to bring the raising efficiencies benefit in order to evaluate their staffs whom has higher efficiencies or lower efficiencies to evaluate the more reasonable or equal wage consequently.

Download or read book The Economics of Artificial Intelligence written by Ajay Agrawal and published by University of Chicago Press. This book was released on 2024-03-05 with total page 172 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A timely investigation of the potential economic effects, both realized and unrealized, of artificial intelligence within the United States healthcare system. In sweeping conversations about the impact of artificial intelligence on many sectors of the economy, healthcare has received relatively little attention. Yet it seems unlikely that an industry that represents nearly one-fifth of the economy could escape the efficiency and cost-driven disruptions of AI. The Economics of Artificial Intelligence: Health Care Challenges brings together contributions from health economists, physicians, philosophers, and scholars in law, public health, and machine learning to identify the primary barriers to entry of AI in the healthcare sector. Across original papers and in wide-ranging responses, the contributors analyze barriers of four types: incentives, management, data availability, and regulation. They also suggest that AI has the potential to improve outcomes and lower costs. Understanding both the benefits of and barriers to AI adoption is essential for designing policies that will affect the evolution of the healthcare system.

Download or read book Philosophy of Artificial Intelligence and Its Place in Society written by Moutinho, Luiz and published by IGI Global. This book was released on 2023-10-16 with total page 461 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The early 2020s have been marked by a surge of interest in artificial intelligence (AI), and it has grown to be one of the hottest topics in computer science, business technology research, and educational technologies. Despite AI winters in the 1970s and 1990s, where interest and subsequently adequate funding for AI research ceased, and as the technology and its usefulness become more perceptible, often with brilliant results, society is once again ready to investigate this powerful technology and its potential. However, a challenge arises when AI is called into question in an ethical context. It is important that we explore how it can contribute to the resolution of ethical, social, and environmental issues and also to address growing concerns around AI developing emergent bias as well as the human application of AI for malicious purposes. With recent AI-based writing technologies, concerns around academic integrity abound and challenge our perceptions of authenticity in writing. A careful assessment of these technologies, their usefulness and potential harm, and strategic solutions to maintaining ethical standards and regulation of the technology is a necessity for the maintenance of civilized life amidst these tools. Philosophy of Artificial Intelligence and Its Place in Society evaluates various aspects of artificial intelligence including the range of technologies, their advantages and disadvantages, and how AI systems operate. Spanning from machine learning to deep learning, philosophical insights, societal concerns, and the newest approaches to AI, it helps to develop an appreciation for and breadth of knowledge across the full range of AI sub-disciplines including neural networks, evolutionary computation, computer vision, robotics, expert systems, speech processing, and natural language processing. Led Dr. Luiz Moutinho of the University of Suffolk in the United Kingdom, who has won several awards for his academic literature, this book provides academic market-scholars; researchers and students of philosophy, sociology, economics, and education; as well as corporate scientists with a comprehensive collection of core research elements, concepts, advances, applications, evidence, and outcomes related to artificial intelligence.

Book excerpt: This paper discusses the impact of the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) in the financial sector. It highlights the benefits these technologies bring in terms of financial deepening and efficiency, while raising concerns about its potential in widening the digital divide between advanced and developing economies. The paper advances the discussion on the impact of this technology by distilling and categorizing the unique risks that it could pose to the integrity and stability of the financial system, policy challenges, and potential regulatory approaches. The evolving nature of this technology and its application in finance means that the full extent of its strengths and weaknesses is yet to be fully understood. Given the risk of unexpected pitfalls, countries will need to strengthen prudential oversight.
Download or read book Wealth Expanding Theory Under the Principle of Efficiency Equity Equilibrium written by Ye, Fred Y. and published by IGI Global. This book was released on 2022-06-30 with total page 291 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It has been suggested that national economic policies should focus on taxation to achieve social equity and interest rates for economic efficiency; wealth distribution can balance efficiency and equity through tax rates, interest rates, and exchange rates. Additionally, while the economic system seeks efficiency and the social system pursues equity, common interest modifications with elastic exchange and tax rates should be applied for balancing efficiency and equity. Wealth Expanding Theory Under the Principle of Efficiency-Equity Equilibrium is a comprehensive reference source that considers economic philosophy for extending economic cognition, balancing economic efficiency and social equity, and future interstellar economics. Covering key topics such as poverty, fiscal policy, and macroeconomics, this reference work is ideal for policymakers, government officials, business owners, economists, managers, researchers, scholars, academicians, practitioners, instructors, and students.
Download or read book Inclusive GovTech Enhancing Efficiency and Equity Through Public Service Digitalization written by Manabu Nose and published by International Monetary Fund. This book was released on 2023-10-27 with total page 49 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How could the GovTech improve budget processes and execution efficiency? Could the GovTech strengthen redistributive function of public expenditure? Based on an event-study method, this paper finds that the introduction of digital budget payments and e-procurement could significantly enhance budget transparency and help expand the coverage of social assistance to reach the most vulnerable population. Exploiting staggered adoption of digital budget payments, a synthetic control regression identifies meaningful increase in pre-tax income shares among the bottom 50th percentile and female workers, especially for emerging market and developing countries, with effects materializing gradually over 10-year period. The paper delves into the potential mechanism driving these equity benefits, highlighting the reduction in business informality as a primary channel. However, the paper emphasizes that the mere adoption of GovTech strategies or digital technologies is insufficient to unlock its full potential. The outcomes are intricately linked to supporting policies, regulations, organizational and system integration, and robust digital connectivity. The paper underscores that inter-agency coordination facilitated by a dedicated GovTech institution emerges as a critical factor for reaping both efficiency and equity gains from GovTech initiatives.

Download or read book For the Benefit of All Fiscal Policies and Equity Efficiency Trade offs in the Age of Automation written by Mr. Andrew Berg and published by International Monetary Fund. This book was released on 2021-07-16 with total page 44 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many studies predict massive job losses and real wage decline as a result of the ongoing widespread automation of production, a trend that may be further aggravated by the COVID-19 crisis. Yet automation is also expected to raise productivity and output. How can we share the gains from automation more widely, for the benefit of all? And what are the attendant equity-efficiency trade-offs? We analyze this issue by considering the effects of fiscal policies that seek to redistribute the gains from automation and address income inequality. We use a dynamic general equilibrium model with monopolistic competition, including a novel specification linking corporate power to automation. While fiscal policy cannot eliminate the classic equity-efficiency trade-offs, it can help improve them, reducing inequality at small or no loss of output. This is particularly so when policy takes advantage of novel, less distortive transmission channels of fiscal policy created by the empirically observed link between corporate market power and automation.
Download or read book Dynamics of Regional Integration written by Uwe Walz and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 214 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Deepening and enlarging regional integration blocs is high on the political agenda, as can be seen most notably in the last decade of the European in tegration process. The effects of this process have been studied extensively. But, until recently, these studies have been limited to the theoretical anal ysis of static effects of regional integration. The revival of growth theory has, however, in principle provided a set of models and tools which allow to investigate the dynamic effects of regional integration. At the same time, the "new regional economics" (or economic geography) literature allowing to focus on the special features of regional integration and integration blocs has emerged. The aim of this study is to merge endogenous growth approaches with "new regional economics" models in order to investigate various aspects of the long-run effects of regional integration in a dynamic general equilibrium framework. It is needless to say that such an analysis can cover only selected issues and leaves others aside. It is the purpose of the present study, how ever, to look at both types of regional integration: the dynamic effects of a deepening of the integration process as well as of an enlargement of the integration bloc. This is done on the basis of an investigation of empirical regularities of regional developments in an integration bloc (mainly in the European Union).
Download or read book The Fourth Industrial Revolution written by Klaus Schwab and published by Crown Currency. This book was released on 2017-01-03 with total page 194 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: World-renowned economist Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum, explains that we have an opportunity to shape the fourth industrial revolution, which will fundamentally alter how we live and work. Schwab argues that this revolution is different in scale, scope and complexity from any that have come before. Characterized by a range of new technologies that are fusing the physical, digital and biological worlds, the developments are affecting all disciplines, economies, industries and governments, and even challenging ideas about what it means to be human. Artificial intelligence is already all around us, from supercomputers, drones and virtual assistants to 3D printing, DNA sequencing, smart thermostats, wearable sensors and microchips smaller than a grain of sand. But this is just the beginning: nanomaterials 200 times stronger than steel and a million times thinner than a strand of hair and the first transplant of a 3D printed liver are already in development. Imagine “smart factories” in which global systems of manufacturing are coordinated virtually, or implantable mobile phones made of biosynthetic materials. The fourth industrial revolution, says Schwab, is more significant, and its ramifications more profound, than in any prior period of human history. He outlines the key technologies driving this revolution and discusses the major impacts expected on government, business, civil society and individuals. Schwab also offers bold ideas on how to harness these changes and shape a better future—one in which technology empowers people rather than replaces them; progress serves society rather than disrupts it; and in which innovators respect moral and ethical boundaries rather than cross them. We all have the opportunity to contribute to developing new frameworks that advance progress.
