Book El taller de arquitectura

Download or read book El taller de arquitectura written by Arnoldo Gaite and published by CP67. This book was released on 2021-06-01 with total page 212 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book CINCO IDEAS PARA HACER ARQUITECTURA

Download or read book CINCO IDEAS PARA HACER ARQUITECTURA written by MERA JUAN and published by Nobuko. This book was released on 2022-03-27 with total page 216 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book La idea construida

Download or read book La idea construida written by Alberto Campo Baeza and published by CP67. This book was released on 2021-06-01 with total page 79 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Josep Llin s

Download or read book Josep Llin s written by José Llinàs and published by . This book was released on 1997 with total page 188 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Whether Llinas is operating on a "leftover" lot in the city or building in the open landscape, he strives to make sense of the site: creating a public space to conclude an urban axis in one location; deploying the volumes of his new construction to reconcile the disparate scales of neighboring buildings in another; using an inventive corner treatment to enliven a bleak street in a third.

Book Un arquitecto es una caja

Download or read book Un arquitecto es una caja written by José Jaraíz and published by . This book was released on 2013 with total page 193 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book excerpt: In this extraordinary book we see the work of six Guatemalan architects, six creative voices who, in an individual or collective form, have redefined and given a poetic spatial quality to the contemporary architecture of their country. Members of the firm known, quite simply, as "Seis Arquitectos" (Peter Giesemann, Carlos M. Lara, Raul Minondo, Ernesto Porras, Rodolfo Solares, Rafael Tinoco), they are exponents of a style with a minimalist touch and a strong commitment to the value of the abstract, the geometrically pure and the spatially rich. Without falling into a reductionist posture, their design proposals seek a primal purity based on ideas which emphasize that form and space shape and adjust themselves to function, without superficial ornamentation, nor the utilization of rigid axes, nor the imposition of classical orders. Guided by a romantic minimalism, they give a frank expression to the structure that delineates the different ambits they create, giving priority to the light that defines the simple and austere forms of their architecture. A passion for light and natural beauty drives them to establish a dialogue between the exterior and interior spaces, causing architecture and nature to interact and create areas that are strongly illuminated by direct light or by means of great panes of glass. The designs shown here cover a range of expressions, from serious and formal buildings for banks, offices and stores to private homes and housing developments in which rural and urban living interact. The architecture of "Seis Arquitectos" is an architecture that respects and fits into its particular context, recognizing the value of place as the receptacle of cultural traits that complement the configuration of the constructed space. In this environment of contemporary art these talented architects have succeeded in expressing themselves conceptually, seeking inspiration, at times, in their nation's Mayan roots, at times through volumes with a symbolic value. In both cases, they have created a sublime architecture that leads us to undertake a silent reflection.

Book excerpt: This highly anticipated monograph focuses on the architectural output of Enrique Browne, a talented and prolific Chilean architect and co-founder of Browne & Swett Arquitectos, based in Santiago. Over the last 40 years, this South American architect has been trying to reconcile natural and artificial worlds through architecture. They are one indissoluble unity. This book showcases in rich photographic detail how his innovative projects incorporate multiple environmental aspects that result in a complex, layered response to the challenges of place, form and identity in Chile. Browne’s practice has developed architectural designs in a diverse range of scales, with emphasis on sustainability and energy efficiency. This volume delves into Browne’s processes, such as developing variations of the “grapevine- structure” typology to create a “double green skin” as a green wall (or roof), to protect dwellings from the region’s strong westerly sun; or combining vegetation and its oxygenation benefits with building to counter pollution; or using both artificial and natural light as a “material” for illuminating spaces or volume. This book also includes commentary on the new zeitgeist surrounding modernity and the impacts of the digital and globalized world on architecture today. Highly regarded, and a prolific writer and designer, Enrique Browne has a unique way of looking at the world. Showcasing the wide range of his design, this title is sure to impress.

Book excerpt: MAD works in forward-looking environments developing futuristic architecture based on a contemporary interpretation of the eastern spirit of nature. All of MAD's projects - from residential complexes or offices to cultural centres - desire to protect a sense of community and orientation toward nature, offering people the freedom to develop their own experience. Founded in 2004 by Ma Yansong, the office first earned worldwide attention in 2006 by winning an international competition to design a residential tower near Toronto, expected to be completed in the summer of 2012. MAD has been commissioned by clients of all backgrounds, leading to an intriguing combination of diverse project designs. MAD's ongoing projects include two major cultural projects in Harbin: the China Wood Sculpture Museum and Harbin Culture Island, an opera house and cultural center that will retain the original wetlands as an urban park between the old and new city. MAD is led by Ma Yansong, Dang Qun and Yosuke Hayano. They have been awarded the Young Architecture Award from the New York Institute of Architects in 2006 and the 2011 RIBA international fellowship.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: PostDomestiCity is an inquiry and speculative exercise into the conditions of obsolescence in the post-industrial city, from a contemporary perspective. Working with three paradigmatic cases that were conceived from industrial logics—the Packard plant in Detroit, Lima’s PREVI neighbourhood, and theGrand’Mare complex in Rouen—, we explore alternative ways of reusing, reprogramming, and redensifying the built environment as alternatives to demolition. Relevant voices in the field of architecture share their approaches and visions of the future for the pre-existing city, helping us imagine post-domesticity in the current climate crisis and socio-technological context. With Contributions of Anne Lacaton, Marina Otero, Ippolito Pestellini, Duplex Architects, Lacol, Antonio Vázquez de Castro, Carmen Espegel, Luis Takahashi, Lys Villalba, O.F. architects, DABG, Patricia Lucas, Ramón Araujo, Paulo Dam, Renato Manrique, CoLaboratorio (Diego García-Setién, Enrique Espinosa, Begoña de Abajo, Almudena Ribot).
