Stadler's views on Heimat depart from the more political implications of recent thinking on Heimat by placing the concept in a metaphysical framework, extending the perceived boundaries of home and accepting the implications of this major expansion. No fixed model of Heimat exists, thus leaving the desire for Heimat to combat the inevitably transitory nature of an imagined home.
