Consisting of approximately 37 ac overall, the specific parcels comprising the project area are TMK-3-7-1-3:10 (White parcel, c. 27 ac) in the Land of Puuanahulu, and TMK 3-6-7-07:15 (Smart parcel, c. 10 ac.) in the Land of Anaehoomalu. The basic objectives of the inventory survey were to provide information appropriate to and sufficient for the preparation of (a) environmental impact statement (EIS)-level documents, and (b) various development applications to be made to appropriate State and County regulatory offices in conjunction with the further development of both parcels"-- Page ii. .

Rosendahl, Ph.D., Inc. (PHRI) within the Kapanui agricultural subdivision and Mahukona property project areas, located in the lands of Kapaanui, Kou, Kamano, Mahukona 1 and 2, Hihiu, and Kaoma, North Kohala District, Island of Hawaii (TMK:3-5-7-02:11 and TMK:3:5-7-03:1-3, 10-14, 16-18). The five surveys were done by Kaschko (1984), Dunn and Rosendhal (1989), Burgett and Rosendahl (1990), Carlson and Rosendahl (1990), and Burgett and Rosendahl (1991). During the surveys, 179 sites comprising 465 features were identified. Ninety-nine (59.3%) of sites had habitation functions assigned to one or more features" -- Summary.

(PHRI) recently conducted an archaeological inventory survey of approximately 100-acre Queen Liliuokalani Trust KIS expansion site, Keahuolu, North Kona, Island of Hawaii (TMK:3-7-4-08:Por.2). The overall objective of the survey, conducted in conjunction with a final subdivision approval for the first increment of an expansion of the Kona industrial subdivision, was to provide information sufficient to satisfy the historic preservation regulatory review requirements of the Hawaii County Planning Department (HCPD) and the Department of Land and Natural Resources - State Historic Preservation Division (DLNR-SHPD). During the field work 18 sites with 38 component features were identified. The features consisted of modified outcrops, pahoehoe excavations, filled depressions, alignments, mounds, terraces, walls, hearth, walled overhangs, an enclosure, a kerbstone trail, a modified depression, a cairn, a cave shelter and a burial cave. Based on current findings 16 of the 18 identified sites were assessed as significant solely for information content" -- Summary.
