Book APPROXIMATIONS NON LINEAIRES POUR L ANALYSE DES SIGNAUX SONORES

Download or read book APPROXIMATIONS NON LINEAIRES POUR L ANALYSE DES SIGNAUX SONORES written by REMI.. GRIBONVAL and published by . This book was released on 1999 with total page 199 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: LA CLASSIFICATION DE SIGNAUX EN GRANDE DIMENSION NECESSITE LA SELECTION D'UN PETIT NOMBRE DE CARACTERISTIQUES POUR REPRESENTER CHAQUE SIGNAL. LES APPROXIMATIONS NON-LINEAIRES DONNENT DES REPRESENTATIONS CONCISES, EN S'ADAPTANT A LA STRUCTURE DE CHAQUE SIGNAL ANALYSE. LEUR EMPLOI EST PROMETTEUR. LA PREMIERE PARTIE DE CE TRAVAIL DEFINIT DES REPRESENTATIONS ADAPTATIVES RAPIDES DE SIGNAUX COMME COMBINAISON LINEAIRE D'ATOMES EXTRAITS D'UN DICTIONNAIRE. A PARTIR DE L'ALGORITHME DE MATCHING PURSUIT, NOUS PROPOSONS PLUSIEURS METHODES ITERATIVES POUR EXTRAIRE LES STRUCTURES CARACTERISTIQUES DES SIGNAUX SONORES. LE MATCHING PURSUIT HARMONIQUE DECOMPOSE UN SIGNAL EN COMPOSANTES HARMONIQUES ELEMENTAIRES. LE MATCHING PURSUIT CHIRPE EXTRAIT LES VARIATIONS DE FREQUENCE INSTANTANEE. IL TIRE PARTI D'UNE ANALYSE FINE DES RIDGES DU DICTIONNAIRE DE GABOR MULTI-ECHELLE. LES APPROXIMATIONS FOURNIES PAR LE MATCHING PURSUIT HAUTE-RESOLUTION PRESERVENT LES TRANSITOIRES, EN IMPOSANT DES CONTRAINTES DE RESOLUTION TEMPORELLE. NOUS ACCELERONS CES TECHNIQUES EN EMPLOYANT DES SOUS-DICTIONNAIRES DE MAXIMA LOCAUX. DANS UN SECOND TEMPS ON ETUDIE L'ANALYSE DISCRIMINANTE NON-LINEAIRE. POUR CLASSIFIER DES SIGNAUX, LES METHODES D'ANALYSE DISCRIMINANTE LINEAIRE REDUISENT LA DIMENSION EN LES PROJETANT SUR UN SOUS-ESPACE PRE-DETERMINE. UNE PROJECTION ADAPTATIVE, EN FONCTION DU SIGNAL ANALYSE, EXTRAIT DE CELUI-CI DES CARACTERISTIQUES QUI LUI SONT PROPRES. ELLES LE DISTINGUENT ET PERMETTENT DE LE CLASSIFIER EFFICACEMENT. NOUS DETERMINONS LA STRATEGIE OPTIMALE DE PROJECTION ADAPTATIVE POUR LA CLASSIFICATION DE BRUITS GAUSSIENS COLORES. AFIN DE CLASSIFIER DES TRANSITOIRES, NOUS EXPLORONS ENFIN UNE METHODE UTILISANT LES MAXIMA DU MODULE DE LA TRANSFORMEE EN ONDELETTES ET DES ARBRES DE DECISION. CETTE APPROCHE PERMET DE SURMONTER LES DIFFICULTES LIEES A L'INVARIANCE PAR TRANSLATION DES SIGNAUX A CLASSIFIER.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book excerpt: This long-awaited update of Meyer's Wavelets: Algorithms and Applications includes completely new chapters on four topics: wavelets and the study of turbulence, wavelets and fractals (which includes an analysis of Riemann's nondifferentiable function), data compression, and wavelets in astronomy. The chapter on data compression was the original motivation for this revised edition, and it contains up-to-date information on the interplay between wavelets and nonlinear approximation. The other chapters have been rewritten with comments, references, historical notes, and new material. Four appendices have been added: a primer on filters, key results (with proofs) about the wavelet transform, a complete discussion of a counterexample to the Marr-Mallat conjecture on zero-crossings, and a brief introduction to H?lder and Besov spaces. In addition, all of the figures have been redrawn, and the references have been expanded to a comprehensive list of over 260 entries. The book includes several new results that have not appeared elsewhere.

LES TECHNIQUES DEVELOPPEES FONT APPEL A DES REPRESENTATIONS TEMPS-ECHELLE ET TEMPS-FREQUENCE LINEAIRES ET CONTINUES, TELLES QUE LA TRANSFORMEE EN ONDELETTES ET LA TRANSFORMEE DE GABOR. A PARTIR DE L'ETUDE THEORIQUE DU COMPORTEMENT DES TRANSFORMEES DE SIGNAUX DETERMINISTES APPARTENANT A DES CLASSES SPECIFIQUES, TELS QUE LES SIGNAUX ASYMPTOTIQUES ET LES SIGNAUX TRANSITOIRES, ON DEVELOPPE UN ENSEMBLE DE TECHNIQUES CONDUISANT A L'ESTIMATION DE PARAMETRES QUANTITATIFS CARACTERISANT LE SIGNAL. DANS UNE OPTIQUE D'ANALYSE-SYNTHESE DE SONS PRODUITS PAR DES INSTRUMENTS DE MUSIQUE TRADITIONNELS, ON CONSIDERE TOUT D'ABORD LE CAS DE SIGNAUX NON STATIONNAIRES COMPOSES DE SOMMES DE CONTRIBUTIONS ELEMENTAIRES MODULEES EN AMPLITUDE ET EN FREQUENCE AU COURS DU TEMPS. A PARTIR DE DEVELOPPEMENTS EN SERIE ET D'APPROXIMATIONS ASYMPTOTIQUES DE LEURS TRANSFORMEES, ON PROPOSE DES ALGORITHMES PERMETTANT D'ISOLER CHAQUE COMPOSANTE ET D'ESTIMER SON AMPLITUDE ET SA FREQUENCE INSTANTANEES, SANS HYPOTHESE A PRIORI SUR LA SELECTIVITE TEMPORELLE ET FREQUENTIELLE DE L'ANALYSE. UNE MODELISATION DE CE TYPE CONDUIT NATURELLEMENT A UNE RESYNTHESE DITE ADDITIVE, QUI PEUT EGALEMENT DONNER LIEU A DES TRANSFORMATIONS MUSICALES INTIMES PAR SIMPLE MODIFICATION DES PARAMETRES ESTIMES. ON S'INTERESSE ENSUITE A LA CARACTERISATION DE SIGNAUX TRANSITOIRES. Book Acoustics of Musical Instruments

Download or read book Acoustics of Musical Instruments written by Antoine Chaigne and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-05-12 with total page 855 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book, the first English-language translation of Acoustique des instruments de musique, Second Edition, presents the necessary foundations for understanding the complex physical phenomena involved in musical instruments. What is the function of the labium in a flute? Which features of an instrument allow us to make a clear audible distinction between a clarinet and a trumpet? With the help of numerous examples, these questions are addressed in detail. The authors focus in particular on the significant results obtained in the field during the last fifteen years. Their goal is to show that elementary physical models can be used with benefit for various applications in sound synthesis, instrument making, and sound recording. The book is primarily addressed to graduate students and researchers; however it could also be of interest for engineers, musicians, craftsmen, and music lovers who wish to learn about the basics of musical acoustics.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Finite mixture distributions arise in a variety of applications ranging from the length distribution of fish to the content of DNA in the nuclei of liver cells. The literature surrounding them is large and goes back to the end of the last century when Karl Pearson published his well-known paper on estimating the five parameters in a mixture of two normal distributions. In this text we attempt to review this literature and in addition indicate the practical details of fitting such distributions to sample data. Our hope is that the monograph will be useful to statisticians interested in mixture distributions and to re search workers in other areas applying such distributions to their data. We would like to express our gratitude to Mrs Bertha Lakey for typing the manuscript. Institute oj Psychiatry B. S. Everitt University of London D. l Hand 1980 CHAPTER I General introduction 1. 1 Introduction This monograph is concerned with statistical distributions which can be expressed as superpositions of (usually simpler) component distributions. Such superpositions are termed mixture distributions or compound distributions. For example, the distribution of height in a population of children might be expressed as follows: h(height) = fg(height: age)f(age)d age (1. 1) where g(height: age) is the conditional distribution of height on age, and/(age) is the age distribution of the children in the population.
