Download or read book Economic Analysis of the Digital Economy written by Avi Goldfarb and published by University of Chicago Press. This book was released on 2015-05-08 with total page 510 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There is a small and growing literature that explores the impact of digitization in a variety of contexts, but its economic consequences, surprisingly, remain poorly understood. This volume aims to set the agenda for research in the economics of digitization, with each chapter identifying a promising area of research. "Economics of Digitization "identifies urgent topics with research already underway that warrant further exploration from economists. In addition to the growing importance of digitization itself, digital technologies have some features that suggest that many well-studied economic models may not apply and, indeed, so many aspects of the digital economy throw normal economics in a loop. "Economics of Digitization" will be one of the first to focus on the economic implications of digitization and to bring together leading scholars in the economics of digitization to explore emerging research.

Book National Advertising Vs Prosperity

Download or read book National Advertising Vs Prosperity written by Ralph Borsodi and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2015-06-02 with total page 317 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from National Advertising Vs, Prosperity: A Study of the Economic Consequences, of National Advertising The larger part of the material in this book consists of a series of sixty-six articles which were published in The Daily News Record of New York under the general title of "The National Advertisers, the Distributors, and the Public." The remainder consists of material which it proved inappropriate to publish serially in a daily newspaper. So many friends and acquaintances have helped me in this work that it is impractical - I was almost going to say impolitic - for me to acknowledge my indebtedness by formally naming them. I cannot, however, omit a word of appreciation for the farsighted policy displayed in making the columns of The Daily News Record an open forum for the discussion of this tremendously important subject. One thought and I am through. This book is iconoclastic only in the strictest sense of the term. The methods which I criticize, I have here criticized in the hope that they will soon cease to be factors in marketing. Book Information Asymmetry in Online Advertising

Download or read book Information Asymmetry in Online Advertising written by Jan W. Wiktor and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2021-09-30 with total page 230 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Advertising is a company’s major form of communication with the market; it is a component of the IMC system, having a special impact on the addressee, and is a form of persuasive communication affecting consumer behaviour. Advertising may reflect information asymmetry between an advertiser and recipients. This book presents an assessment of the forms and range of consumer behaviour manipulation through information asymmetry in online advertising and explores the possible causes, forms, and effects. The work offers a new approach to the role of advertising in the digital world, especially its forms and impact strategies. The theoretical framework presented is based on issues related to online advertising, information asymmetry, and social manipulation. The book describes the ways in which these areas can be explored, and it presents the results of empirical studies. Empirical research allows for identifying companies’ moral hazard strategies and their consequences – e-consumers’ adverse selection. The research provides an empirical answer to the question: to what extent is advertising a transparent form of communication, and to what extent does it represent the world of manipulation? Based on an interdisciplinary theoretical approach, empirical studies conducted by the authors, and theoretical and managerial implication, the book encourages its readers to find their own answers. Given the interdisciplinary nature of this work, it will be of interest to scholars and researchers within the fields of marketing, media and communication, economics, psychology, sociology, and ethics.
