La première stratégie, appelée "stratégie orientée réseau" est une stratégie de codage aléatoire, en termes de dates d'arrivée des paquets, permettant de réduire au maximum le temps passé par les paquets dans les files d'attente des routeurs. Le point faible de cette approche, comme toute approche aléatoire, est qu'elle n'est pas totalement fiable. Les deux autres stratégies proposées implémentent une stratégie fiable en utilisant le concept de code en bloc. La première, appelée "stratégie orientée flux" est basée sur la définition classique du codage réseau alors que la seconde, appelée "stratégie de transfert rapide", permet de réduire les temps d'attente des paquets dans les files d'attente en les transférant sans attendre tous les paquets du même bloc. Les délais maximums engendrés par les différentes stratégies ont été évalués au niveau d'un noeud de codage en utilisant le calcul réseau (network calculus). Les bornes de délais de bout-de-bout ont ensuite été calculées pour plusieurs types de réseaux. Dans la plupart des cas, ces bornes sont meilleures que celles obtenues pour le routage classique. Les stratégies de codage réseau fiables et la stratégie de routage ont été implémentées et évaluées par simulation sur les réseaux étudiés précédemment. Les résultats obtenus montrent que les pires cas de délais de bout-en-bout observés ont les mêmes comportements que les bornes maximales théoriques calculées, validant ainsi les stratégies proposées.

The aims of this thesis revolve around network communication architecture for DIS applications in LAN and WAN. Its first contribution is to design and implement high performance Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) application using the HLA (High Level Architecture) and DDS (Data Distribution Service) middleware in LANs: HLA is used in conjonction with Hierarchical Timed Stream Petri Nets (HTSPN) to allow a powerful analysis techniques for validating and implementing QoS mechanisms in the application layer. Then, we show how DDS can successfully deliver the needed capabilities of DIS applications, provides fast and predictable distribution of real-time critical data in local area network. In the second contribution we suggest a novel extension of Dead Reckoning to increase the network availability and fulfill the required QoS in large-scale DIS applications. The proposed algorithm is based on a fuzzy inference system which is trained by the learning algorithm derived from the neuronal networks and fuzzy inference theory. The proposed mechanism is based on the optimization approach to calculate the error threshold violation in networking games. Then, We show the limitations of the usage DDS Routing Services over the Internet and suggests a Proxy DDS to overcome those shortcomings. In the last contributions we present a dynamic ressource allocation SIP-based framework for the signaling plane DDS-based DIS applications. We give the design and implementation of this framework, the new concepts of the extended SIP to improve the QoS management mechanisms. Then, we present an QoS approach using the EuQoS (End-to-End QoS over Heterogeneous Networks) architecture to define a NGN (Next Generation Network) architecture for distributed interactive simulation that builds, uses and manages end-to-end QoS across different administrative domains and heterogeneous networks.

Nous avons montré par simulation la nécessité d'utiliser, d'une manière optimale, les mémoires électroniques à la périphérie du réseau optique pour garantir la QoS demandée. L'implémentation des mémoires électroniques au niveau interface permet de surveiller et conditionner le trafic pour éviter la burstiness à l'intérieur du réseau optique, ainsi que de différencier les CoS (classes de service). Les résultats que nous avons présentés mettent en évidence la nécessité du shaping pour une utilisation efficace des ressources optiques et un dimensionnement du réseau avec des tailles de lignes à retard faisables. Nous nous sommes particulièrement focalisés sur l'étude de l'impact du shaping sur les performances du réseau en présence d'un traffic auto-similaire. Nous avons étudié ce problème en utilisant deux approches. la première consiste à développer un algorithme de shaping dynamique basé sur des équations utilisant la version déterministe des courbes de service. Book excerpt: Les nouvelles applications sur Internet nécessitent des garanties de qualité de service (QoS) de la part du réseau. Nous nous intéressons à deux paramètres de QoS : le temps de réponse et la gigue de bout-en-bout. Nous proposons un ordonnancement, noté FP/DP, à base de priorités fixes (FP), départageant les paquets ex aequo selon leurs priorités dynamiques (DP). La priorité fixe d'un flux reflète son degré d'importance et sa priorité dynamique est un paramètre temporel. FP/FIFO et FP/EDF sont deux exemples d'ordonnancement FP/DP. Nous déterminons des bornes déterministes sur les paramètres de QoS considérés, en utilisant l'approche par trajectoire. En monoprocesseur, nous améliorons les résultats existants et prouvons que FP/EDF domine FP/FIFO sous certaines conditions. En distribué, nous apportons de nouveaux résultats et montrons que l'approche par trajectoire est beaucoup moins pessimiste que l'approche holistique. Nos résultats sont appliqués dans une architecture DiffServ/MPLS.
