Book excerpt: King Solomon was a very wise man during his time because God gave him wisdom and exceedingly great understanding, and largeness of heart like the sand on the seashore (1Kings 4:29).He was further described according to verse 33 of 1 Kings 4 (TLB) as a great naturalist, with interest in animals, birds, snakes, fish and trees - from the great cedars of Lebanon down to the tiny hyssop which grows in cracks in the wall. Little wonder he was able to say with all confidence in Proverbs 6:6 that considering the ways of ants is capable of making one wise. He must have learnt certain doses of wisdom from them. With this wise man's recommendation in mind, I became inquisitive as to what lessons could be learnt from the ants. And fortunately for me, I was able to discover some of them.On the 26th of October, 2009 - at about 3:45pm, I was in my old house in Nigeria relaxing with some cookies when my attention suddenly got drawn to a scene taking place on my carpet. A crumb of the biscuit had fallen to the ground and certain ants were observed taking their food into the store -a tiny hole in the wall. In their attempt to take my biscuit crumb, certain laws capable of making one wise were revealed to me, which constitute the content of this book.I strongly believe that as you take your time to not only read these laws but also thoroughly digest them with readiness to apply them to your life, in no time you also will be referred to as wise. Now let's learn from the ants.

This book was released on 2020 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Wisdom of the Ant tells the story of a fisherman who caught long but big and also some short fishes. The fisherman threw the long, big fishes back into the river simply because they wouldn't fit into his small cooking pot at home. How hilarious and unimaginative too! Do you have little or no amount of money, little experience, little exposure, little connection, little strength, and little support? Whatever you think you don't have enough of, it's time to stop throwing away your 'long and big fishes' (your dreams, desires, passions and ideas). It's time to learn from the Ant how to overcome your life challenges and creatively find ways to fulfil your dreams. Understand how to use your 'so called' little money, talent, idea, or dream to discover and fulfil your purpose, no matter your age and disadvantages; Recognise and know how to use your imagination and little strength to become all you can become in life. Learn how to develop passion and commitment to enable you to achieve your dreams; Start with baby steps with focus and know how to maximise your most scarce resource which is time. Position yourself to become "luckier" like the ant and develop consistency. Benefit from the habits of prudence and thriftiness Understand and apply the equation of achievement to every area of your life; Rank your dream to see if you have any chance to succeed with the dream achievement scale. Try out the Eagle focus template and acquire the postage stamp mentality of persistence and perseverance. Build your own Anthill, which is the storehouse of your wealth. Learn why, when and how to rest and retreat in order to finish well, strong and reach your destination in life and much more. Kingsley has painstakingly explained these in 14 life-transforming wisdom lessons which are the blueprint for anyone with a dream. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Man as a creature is superior to other lesser elements of our ecosystem. Superior in wisdom, mannerism, conduct and lifestyle and should of course instruct all nature in terms of leadership and dominion. It becomes amazing however that ALMIGHTY MAN would be asked to stoop so low as to GO TO THE ANT; CONSIDER HER WAYS AND BE WISE... (Proverbs 6:6) This rather imposing statement clearly spotlights the ant as tiny and frail as it is as an unusual agent of wisdom, an embodiment of strength and a master of leadership coordination. Our study of the ant presents some strong lessons to us on the preferred approach to life and judgement of issues in a way that will inspire the much needed change in our own thought process and overall view of life. We will learn from the ant that life is about determination and the will to push through against all odds until we succeed. We will acquire the never give up spirit of the ant, we will cast less blames on our poor states of being, our nation, background and ecology for our present outcomes in life and we will develop a strong determination from within to try again and never retreat or surrender until we win! The Way of the ANT is a book on National Transformation by mindset reengineering. It is a book that will get us to see things from a standpoint of personal responsibility and collective positive delivery towards communual rebirth and social emancipation. We each constitute a tiny part of our larger society and each individual must endeavour to play his/her role and well enough to create the appropriate societal linkage that will eventually constitute grounds for national growth and global enhancement. We are important! We must create value! We should not just exist, but rather live in such a way that our own endpoints in life will stir up sufficient motivation in the man next door to effectively champion his own course to natural excellence. This is the way of the ant!

Download or read book The Hiddenness of God written by Michael C. Rea and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2018-07-19 with total page 213 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Hiddenness of God addresses the problem of divine hiddenness which concerns the ambiguity of evidence for God's existence, the elusiveness of God's comforting presence, the palpable and devastating experience of divine absence and abandonment, and more; phenomena which are hard to reconcile with the idea, central to the Jewish and Christian scriptures, that there exists a God who is deeply and lovingly concerned with the lives of humans. Michael C. Rea argues that divine hiddenness is not a problem to be explained away but rather a consequence of the nature of God himself. He shows that it rests on unwarranted assumptions and expectations about God's love for human beings. Rea explains how scripture and tradition bear testimony not only to God's love, but to God's transcendence. He shows that God's transcendence should be understood as implying that all of God's intrinsic attributes—divine love included—elude our grasp in significant ways.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Shahrokh Meskoob was one of Iran’s leading intellectuals and a preeminent scholar of Persian literary traditions, language, and cultural identity. In The Ant’s Gift, Meskoob applies his insight and considerable analytical skills to the Shahnameh, the national epic of Iran completed in 1010 by the poet Abul-Qâsem Ferdowsi. Tracing Iran’s history from its first mythical king to the fall of the Sasanian dynasty, the Shahnameh includes myths, romance, history, and political theory. Meskoob sheds new light on this seminal work of Persian culture, identifying the story as at once a historical and poetic work. While previous criticism of the Shahnameh has focused on its linguistic importance and its role in Iranian nationalism, Meskoob draws attention to the work’s pre-Islamic cultural origins.

He analyzes the strategies of poker experts David Sklansky and Puggy Pearson and pinpoints parallels between mate selection in guppies and stock market booms. More Than You Know is written with the professional investor in mind but extends far beyond the world of economics and finance. Mauboussin groups his essays into four parts-Investment Philosophy, Psychology of Investing, Innovation and Competitive Strategy, and Science and Complexity Theory-and he includes substantial references for further reading. A true eye-opener, More Than You Know shows how a multidisciplinary approach that pays close attention to process and the psychology of decision making offers the best chance for long-term financial results.
