Book Infrastructure Delivery Systems

Download or read book Infrastructure Delivery Systems written by Bankole Osita Awuzie and published by Springer. This book was released on 2019-05-07 with total page 204 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a framework for governing policy implementation by various stakeholders during the delivery of infrastructure projects. This framework relies on the tenets of the Viable Systems Model (VSM), a systems cybernetic model that enjoys a high level of acceptance in organizational analysis. The book presents a step-by-step guide for the multi-level governance of implementation during project delivery. Although the book focuses on the context of local content development policy and construction projects (infrastructure), it is presented in a manner that allows it to be adapted to other policies and sectors. The book includes a step-by-step methodology for assessing policy implementation in project or policy delivery systems. In addition, it shares insights into the probable challenges faced by the actors within the delivery system in achieving optimal implementation performance. Critical success factors are also highlighted, and illustrative diagrams of the framework are provided to facilitate understanding. The book is logically structured and presented in a straightforward manner. Also, the transposition of the VSM from a conventional organizational context to a multi-organizational context will appeal to readers with a background in systems thinking, monitoring or evaluation.

Book Bioenergy and Biochemical Processing Technologies

Download or read book Bioenergy and Biochemical Processing Technologies written by Augustine O. Ayeni and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-06-30 with total page 393 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents novel techniques, current trends, and cutting-edge technologies in energy and biochemical processes. The authors explore recent advances that solve challenges related to the implications and commercialization of these processes by introducing new techniques or modifying existing technologies to meet future demands for food materials, bioproducts, fossil fuels, biofuels, and bioenergy. Divided into three parts, the first section of the book addresses issues related to the utilization and management of energy towards the efficient characterization and conversion of wastes or raw-/bio- materials to useful products. The second section focuses largely on studies on molecular detection of analytes, purification, and characterization of products recovered from biochemical, enzymatic, food, and phytochemicals, as well as biostimulation and bioaugmentation processes. The final section discusses areas related to heat and mass transfer, fuel processing technologies, nanofluids, and their applications.

Book Practical Aspects of Flow Assurance in the Petroleum Industry

Download or read book Practical Aspects of Flow Assurance in the Petroleum Industry written by Jitendra Sangwai and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2022-07-07 with total page 405 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With easily accessible oil reserves dwindling, petroleum engineers must have a sound understanding of how to access technically challenging resources, especially in the deepwater environment. These technically challenging resources bring with them complexities around fluid flow not normally associated with conventional production systems, and engineers must be knowledgeable about navigating these complexities. Practical Aspects of Flow Assurance in the Petroleum Industry aims to provide practical guidance on all aspects of flow assurance to offer readers a ready reference on how to ensure uninterrupted transport of processed fluids throughout the flow infrastructure by covering all practical aspects of flow assurance, being written in such a way that any engineer dealing with the oil and gas industry will be able to understand the material, containing solved examples on most topics, placing equal emphasis on experimental techniques and modeling methods, and devoting an entire chapter to the analysis and interpretation of published case studies. With its balance of theory and practical applications, this work provides petroleum engineers from a variety of backgrounds with the information needed to maintain and enhance productivity.
