Download or read book Flight Delayed Again written by John C Cappelletti and published by . This book was released on 2020-10-08 with total page 74 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When you travel by air you expect a safe and enjoyable flight with an "on time" departure. However, be prepared, as you may experience a delay. You can expect the airline will offer advice regarding the delay. However, in most cases you will be given an "excuse" for the delay rather than the "reason" for the disruption to your travel arrangements. For example, you may be advised that the late departure is due to the late arrival of the aircraft to operate the service. This begs the question - "why" was the inbound aircraft late? This book will delve into the "why" and provide enlightening information on the actual cause of flight delays. It will establish that some delays are predictable and therefore avoidable, whilst others are infrequent occurrences and well outside the airline's control. The knowledge gained will better equip you to ask the right questions and subsequently focus the airline industry's attention to prioritise its efforts to make your travel the "on time" experience you anticipated.By understanding the factors which lead to delays and knowing the historical performance of a flight, you can be more selective in your choice of airline and flights, thus improving the quality of your travel experience and reducing the probability of a delay.

Book A Ghost of Che

Download or read book A Ghost of Che written by Mauktik Kulkarni and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2009-08 with total page 158 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "...The reader departs with the narrator from Louisville and accompanies him on his route, which takes him from Peru, through Argentina and Chile, on his return through Peru and eventually on his return to Louisville, Kentucky. However, the human side of the story that occurs with the narrator, in fact the most outstanding part of the story, does not follow as linear a path as the trip on which Kulkarni embarks through the areas of South America. In fact, what stands out most in the text is the mastery of narration that catches the reader from the first page and never lets go. One continues reading because one wants to (needs to, in fact) know what will happen next. The plot contrasts the trip through geographic points, the ponderings and reflections of Mauktik along his trip and his retrospective vision of his life. The result is fascinating. All of it awakens our attention... ...The book is a cultural/anthropological study that permits us access to the perspective of a person coming from another culture disparate from that of Latin America, a non-North American vision of our people and our customs. What's fascinating is that the narrator does not speak Spanish fluently; a reader that has a command of both languages quickly notes the linguistic errors. However, one immediately recognizes that the value and purpose of the book goes far beyond linguistic conventions. A Ghost of Che explores the human condition, as told by a narrator who travels thousands of kilometers in search of the unknown and who ends up finding himself; in the process, he discovers the goodness of people. Probably, the best tribute that one could make to the book would be to say that the reader wants to embark on a similar journey after reading it." - Dr. Manuel F. Medina, Associate Professor, Modern Languages, Spanish, University of Louisville, in Al Día en América. Full review is available at http: //www.medina502.com/classes/a-ghost-of-che.html

Book UNDIVORCED

Download or read book UNDIVORCED written by P.L. Kaul and published by Blue Rose Publishers. This book was released on 2023-01-17 with total page 484 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: UNDIVORCED, is an interesting biographical portrayal of Paarthiv from Kashmir, in the early fifties of the last century. He was transferred by his employer to Calcutta, only after three months of his marriage; much to the utter displeasure of the new weds then, of course for the obvious reasons. As ill luck would have it, he lost his job there, for whatever reasons and went penniless. He was neither able to return back home, nor was he able to sustain his living as a stranger to the city there, unfamiliar to him in every respect, including the ethnic language for communication. . But being an embodiment of confidence and courage, he fought his way to rise from destitution to an enviable affluence, and came to be regarded as one of the most charismatic alien celebrities of the place, known otherwise for its orthodox civility. However, in the world of audacious society there, he stayed alienated from his wife, who had given birth to his son, only about six months of his departure from his home. The couple remained alienated and estranged from each other for sixteen long years. Then the happy rendezvous of the family took place, through a fateful coincidence, brought about by Parijat, the mentor of their son, interestingly personified by the author himself. The period that followed is an absorbing description of funny incidents, superstition, travels to places, atonement, teen-age romance and a saga of highs and lows, offered by the life in many wishful and weird ways. The novel establishes the fact of life as: “A Spectacle of Characters, Episodes and Scenes –Scripted by Destiny”, which makes it a very interesting read.
