Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is the little things that make a person come to life in a story, the minutiae of daily life. We know the bare bones of the life of these people but that makes them so one-dimensional. I have taken the story we know, and using imagination and Google, have brought them to life in a way that makes them live and breathe naturally. It is a work of fiction but built on a solid skeleton of fact.

The subjects range from the sublime to the ridiculous, from a garden party at Buckingham Palace to saving the life of a whale, and in many other directions. I have always wanted to know more. Why was Wordsworth wandering that hill when he saw those daffodils? And what was the inspiration for the word jabberwocky? Words have always fascinated me, but ideas even more so. When I decided to put my poems together, I was always going to put the reason I wrote each verse, so the reader would get more from each piece.

Book excerpt: USA Today Bestseller! “Julie Anne Long reinvents the historical romance for modern readers.” —Amanda Quick From USA Today bestselling author Julie Anne Long comes the second book in an exciting new historical romance series, the first since her beloved Pennyroyal Green series. He has devil’s blood in his veins. At least, that’s always been the legend. How else could the Duke of Brexford’s notorious bastard son return from the dead? The brutal decade since Lucien Durand, Lord Bolt, allegedly drowned in the Thames forged him into a man who always gets what—and who—he wants. And what he wants is vengeance for his stolen birthright . . . and one wild night in Angelique Breedlove’s bed. Angelique recognizes heartbreak when the enigmatic Lord Bolt walks into The Grand Palace on the Thames, and not even his devastating charm can tempt her to risk her own ever again. One scorching kiss drives home the danger. But in the space between them springs a trust that feels anything but safe. And the passion—explosive, consuming—drives Lucien to his knees. Now his whole life depends on proving his love to a woman who doesn’t believe in it . . . because his true birthright, he now knows, is guardian of Angelique Breedlove’s heart.

Book excerpt: How did the apostle John know that, two thousand years after he lived, your life would need a fresh touch from God? How did John know that, at the beginning of a new millennium, our lives would be so busy, our focus so divided, our bodies so tired, our minds so bombarded, our families so attacked, our relationships so strained, our churches so programmed . . . that we would be desperate for the simplicity and the purity, the freedom and the fulfillment of a life lived in Jesus’ name? John probably didn’t know. But God did. That’s why He gives us Jesus! And that’s why, as Anne Graham Lotz reveals, John’s eyewitness account of Jesus’ life is unmistakably relevant to your life today. The same Jesus who turned water into wine is the One who provides for your needs at this very moment. Enter into His life and find your soul refreshed with Living Water. This new edition of Just Give Me Jesus contains an in-depth devotional guide to help you explore the words of John in a personal and practical way, either on your own or in a group. You’ll find inspiration and revelation as you study the Scripture more closely and record your reflections in space provided at the back of the book.

Book The Collected Poems of Anna Seward

Download or read book The Collected Poems of Anna Seward written by Lisa L. Moore and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2021-03-23 with total page 688 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This critical edition of the poems of Anna Seward (1742-1809) re-establishes one of the most popular and prolific poets of the early Romantic period. Her work influenced Charllotte Smith and Mary Robinson and later both Wordsworth and Coleridge. Her reputation was so high that Sir Walter Scott edited the posthumous edition of her poems in 1810. Unlike Scott's, this edition reproduces the poems as they were first published in periodicals and collections during Seward's lifetime, allowing scholars to experience them as eighteenth century readers did. It also includes mire than 200 poems that were excluded from the Scott edition.
