Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book systematically presents these findings for the first time, focusing on the composition, force mode, structural characteristics, performance advantages, and calculation methods for each new structural system, and comparing each one with traditional structural systems. In view of the persistent problems in the current equivalent cast in situ precast concrete structural systems and the development of non-equivalent cast in situ precast concrete structure systems, Southeast University and Harbin Institute of Technology have conducted extensive research and proposed several new types of precast concrete structural systems. Their findings in this regard can promote the development of basic theories and technologies for building industrialization, accelerate the advancement of China's building industrialization, promote the application of precast building technology, and realize the concept of green building.

Download or read book Earthquake Resistant Engineering Structures VI written by C. A. Brebbia and published by WIT Press. This book was released on 2007 with total page 529 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The problem of protecting the built environment in earthquake-prone regions of the world involves not only the optimal design and construction of new facilities, but also the upgrading and rehabilitation of existing structures and infrastructures. The latter is a laborious and expensive task, which can be accomplished only gradually. However, the inestimable loss of life and the colossal costs following a major earthquake in a metropolitan area provide sufficient reason to make it an important challenge for the scientific and technical community.Containing papers presented at the Sixth International Conference on Earthquake Resistance and Engineering Structures, this book will be invaluable to engineers, scientists and managers working in industry, academia, research organizations and governments. The book encompasses a wide range of topics such as: Site Effects and Geotechnical aspects; Earthquake resistant design; Seismic Behaviour and Vulnerability; Structural Dynamics; Monitoring and Testing; Bridges; Heritage Buildings; Masonry Construction; Retrofitting; Passive Protection Devices and Seismic Isolation; Lifelines; Design Codes and Response Spectre.

Download or read book Behavior of Unbounded Post tensioned Masonry Walls written by Reza Hassanli and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-08-07 with total page 277 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book reports on a comprehensive analytical, experimental and numerical study on the flexural response of post-tensioned masonry walls under in-plane loads. It explores an important mechanism in this new generation of structural walls, called “Self-centering”. This mechanism can reduce residual drifts and structural damage during earthquake ground motion, and is particularly favorable for structures which are designed for immediate occupancy performance levels. The book reports on the development and verification of a finite element model of post-tensioned masonry walls. It describes a detailed parametric study to predict the strength of post-tensioned masonry walls. New design methodologies and expressions are developed to predict the flexural strength and force-displacement response of post-tensioned masonry. Experimental study is carried out to better understand the behavior of post-tensioned masonry walls and also to evaluate the accuracy of the proposed design procedure and expressions. The book also includes an introduction to current research on unbounded post-tensioned masonry walls, together with an extensive analysis of previously published test results.
