Download or read book Analysis of use of Basalt In Concrete Mixes With Granite Stone written by Dr. Ashad ullah Qureshi and published by Concepts Books Publication. This book was released on 2022-06-01 with total page 35 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: India can be a more favorable and attractive industrial area for the development of granite industry now a days and in future. India has been known for decades for its stone industry and it is one of the biggest exporters of natural stone in the world. India uses natural stone as building material more than many other countries. The researcher explores whether Indian granite industries can increase their exports to world countries and how likely it is that stone imports will increase there. Each country has unique soil and granite stones. Granite from India is very different compared to world granite and it cannot be copied. The unique appearance of Indian granite is definitely a competitive advantage that should be considered when planning export strategies.

Book Cement and Concrete Chemistry

Download or read book Cement and Concrete Chemistry written by Wieslaw Kurdowski and published by Springer Science & Business. This book was released on 2014-04-24 with total page 705 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This monograph describes cement clinker formation. It covers multicomponent systems, clinker phase structures and their reactions with water, hydrate composition and structure, as well as their physical properties. The mineral additions to cement are described as are their influence on cement-paste properties. Special cements are also discussed. The microstructure of concrete is then presented, and special emphasis is given to the role of the interfacial transition zone, and the corrosion processes in the light of cement-phase composition, mineral additions and w/c ratio. The admixtures' role in modern concrete technology is described with an emphasis on superplasticizer chemistry and its cement-paste rheological modification mechanism. Cement with atypical properties, such as calcium aluminate, white, low energy and expansive cements are characterized. The last part of the book is devoted to special types of concrete such as self compacting and to reactive powders.

Book Eco efficient Materials for Mitigating Building Cooling Needs

Download or read book Eco efficient Materials for Mitigating Building Cooling Needs written by F. Pacheco-Torgal and published by Woodhead Publishing. This book was released on 2015-02-27 with total page 552 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Climate change is one of the most important environmental problems faced by Planet Earth. The majority of CO2 emissions come from burning fossil fuels for energy production and improvements in energy efficiency shows the greatest potential for any single strategy to abate global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from the energy sector. Energy related emissions account for almost 80% of the EU's total greenhouse gas emissions. The building sector is the largest energy user responsible for about 40% of the EU's total final energy consumption. In Europe the number of installed air conditioning systems has increased 500% over the last 20 years, but in that same period energy cooling needs have increased more than 20 times. The increase in energy cooling needs relates to the current higher living and working standards. In urban environments with low outdoor air quality (the general case) this means that in summer-time one cannot count on natural ventilation to reduce cooling needs. Do not forget the synergistic effect between heat waves and air pollution which means that outdoor air quality is worse in the summer aggravating cooling needs. Over the next few years this phenomenon will become much worse because more people will live in cities, more than 2 billion by 2050 and global warming will aggravate cooling needs. - An overview of materials to lessen the impact of urban heat islands - Excellent coverage of building materials to reduce air condtioning needs - Innovative products discussed such as Thermo and Electrochromic materials
