Cette approche multimodèle est une représentation polytopique convexe pouvant être obtenue, soit directement à partir d'un modèle mathématique non linéaire, soit par transformation mathématique, soit par linéarisation autour de différents points de fonctionnement. Basé essentiellement sur la deuxième méthode de Lyapunov et la formulation LMI, Multimodèles en automatique se concentre sur l'analyse de la stabilité et la synthèse de correcteurs/observateurs. Le cas des multimodèles incertains avec des entrées inconnues est étudié et les fonctions de Lyapunov quadratiques et non quadratiques sont également considérées. Afin de réduire le pessimisme de la méthode quadratique, l'étude de stabilité des multimodèles est réalisée en considérant des fonctions de Lyapunov non quadratiques.

Its modeling is based on the frequency distributed fractional integrator, while the resulting model corresponds to an integer order and infinite dimension state space representation. This original modeling allows the theoretical concepts of integer order systems to be generalized to fractional systems, with a particular emphasis on a convolution formulation. With this approach, fundamental issues such as system state interpretation and system initialization – long considered to be major theoretical pitfalls – have been solved easily. Although originally introduced for numerical simulation and identification of FDEs, this approach also provides original solutions to many problems such as the initial conditions of fractional derivatives, the uniqueness of FDS transients, formulation of analytical transients, fractional differentiation of functions, state observation and control, definition of fractional energy, and Lyapunov stability analysis of linear and nonlinear fractional order systems. This second volume focuses on the initialization, observation and control of the distributed state, followed by stability analysis of fractional differential systems.

Au-delà des formes usuelles de stabilité, nous étudions quatre autres propriétés : stabilité entrée-sortie, en temps fini, entrée-état et pratique. Après une large introduction, le second chapitre se focalise sur la stabilité entrée-sortie des systèmes linéaires à retards variables par une approche originale se basant sur des fonctionnelles de Lyapunov-Krasovskii. La forme descripteur est utilisée pour obtenir des conditions en termes d'inégalités matricielles. Dans le troisième chapitre, la stabilité en temps fini caractérise un équilibre asymptotiquement stable qui, de plus, est atteint en temps fini. Plusieurs résultats sont proposés concernant la stabilité et la stabilisation sur des systèmes non-linéaires et linéaires respectivement. Les premiers exemples de systèmes stables en temps fini sont donnés. Ensuite, la stabilité entrée-état est analysée dans le cadre des systèmes non linéaires soumis à des perturbations larges. Cette nouvelle notion est étendue au cas des systèmes retardés et plusieurs résultats sont proposés via des fonctionnelles de Krasovskii. Le dernier chapitre se consacre à l'étude de la stabilité pratique appliquée au problème de la réticence dans la commande par modes glissants. En présence de retards, cette technique de type « grands gains » peut provoquer une oscillation importante sur l'état du système - notamment lorsque la dynamique des actionneurs ne peut être négligée. Le phénomène de réticence est analysé formellement et de nombreuses simulations permettent de confirmer les avantages de la méthode proposée

After five years of this joint undertaking we had concluded that it was in the interest of all con cerned if the printing and distribution of the volumes were handled by an interna tional publishing house to assure improved service and broader dissemination. Hence, starting with Volume 18, Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences has been disseminated on a worldwide basis by Plenum Publishing Cor poration of New York, and in the same year the coverage was broadened to include Canadian universities. All back issues can also be ordered from Plenum. We have reported in Volume 36 (thesis year 1991) a total of 11,024 thesis titles from 23 Canadian and 161 United States universities. We are sure that this broader base for these titles reported will greatly enhance the value of this important annual reference work. While Volume 36 reports theses submitted in 1991, on occasion, certain univer sities do report theses submitted in previous years but not reported at the time.

La première partie est consacrée au problème de la stabilisation des systèmes non linéaires non réguliers. Nous nous sommes intéressés à des résultats classiques de stabilisation des systèmes non linéaires. Nous avons considéré un problème de stabilisation par retour d'état et un problème de stabilisation par ajout d'intégrateurs qui nécessitent la régularité des champs de vecteurs des systèmes considérés. Nous avons affaibli ces hypothèses de régularité en développant des résultats applicables aux systèmes non réguliers. La deuxième partie du mémoire concerne la stabilisation des systèmes différentiels fonctionnels de type retardé. Nous avons tout d'abord considéré un problème de stabilisation par retour d'état sans mémoire. Des conditions simples de stabilité asymptotique du système en boucle fermée ont été établies et une classe de lois de commandes stabilisantes a été proposée en utilisant la théorie de Lyapunov-Krasovskii. Des résultats de la théorie de la commande H[infini] nous ont permis de formuler des conditions de stabilité sous forme fréquentielle, ou en terme de spectre d'une matrice hamiltonienne. Nous avons ensuite traité le problème de la stabilisation par commande basée observateur pour ces systèmes. Une classe d'observateurs non linéaires à retards a été définie et l'analyse de la stabilité asymptotique du système en boucle fermée a été réalisée. Enfin, nous avons abordé le problème de la commande par mode de glissement pour une classe de systèmes présentant des perturbations additives bornées. Nous avons présenté une méthode de synthèse de lois de commandes par mode de glissement, bien adaptée à ce type de problème. Des conditions suffisantes pour générer le mode de glissement ont été proposées et la stabilité de la dynamique en mode de glissement a été analysée
