Book Cannabis in nutrition

Download or read book Cannabis in nutrition written by Pharmacology University and published by Pharmacology University. This book was released on 2021-11-10 with total page 47 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cannabis sativa is a plant that has lived very near man since ancient times, dating back to thousands of years before Christ. During this time, it has been attributed all kinds of properties: textile, ceremonial, aphrodisiac, medicinal, and even nutritional. The progressive release of restrictions on the research and consumption of cannabis derivatives in more and more countries has opened the door to exploring its multiple properties, including its effect on eating disorders and nutrition. Historical records exist which describe the intake of cannabis in various ancient civilizations. One of the most interesting ones found is from China, where its consumption, as a food, was recurrent during the post-World War II famines. Nowadays, along with the popularization of cannabis the medicinal use, there is a growing movement promoting its consumption or its derivatives as a dietary supplement, due to its beneficial effect on health and well-being in general. Cannabis is also a solid candidate to be incorporated into the culinary world, due to its organoleptic properties: the flavor, aroma, and texture that its incorporation into various recipes can provide. Do you know what nutrition is? It is necessary to answer this question before talking about the nutritional properties of cannabis and how its derivatives could positively influence daily well-being. Likewise, Do you know what is an orexigenic? Because some molecules present in the cannabis plant have properties of this type, it is for this reason that its use has been proposed as an alternative to treat eating disorders. Did you know that the cannabis leaf is rich in certain types of carbohydrates, proteins, and antioxidants? The nutritional properties of the cannabis plant are a topic that is often neglected, overshadowed by the multiple benefits demonstrated by cannabinoids, its main molecules in the medicinal use of the same. Did you know that you can incorporate cannabis into your daily diet by combining it with products such as flour, dairy products, and oils? This is a simple way to include the benefits of cannabinoids in your daily routine, but these preparations are not so easy to make, and their misuse can result in adverse or, for some, unwanted effects. Incorporating cannabis in daily life is a possible practice that can be beneficial. Nonetheless, it is necessary to have the relevant information at hand. With this in mind, the Pharmacology University team has developed this audiobook, in which you can find the answers to the above questions and many others that you may not yet be asking yourself. You will learn about many topics with this audiobook: including basic concepts, such as nutrition, food types, origins of eating disorders, and how cannabis or its derivatives can significantly contribute to their resolution, as well as to the improvement of health in general. In short, now that you have at your disposal the necessary information, supported by scientific evidence, we invite you to explore the many ways in which you can prepare homemade recipes using cannabis, thus casually incorporating it into a daily life oriented to wellness and health.

Book Perspectives in Human Growth Development and Maturation

Download or read book Perspectives in Human Growth Development and Maturation written by Parasmani Dasgupta and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-14 with total page 353 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One morning in 1969, out of the blue, I received a letter which both distressed and astonished me. It was from a Prof. S. R. Das in Calcutta, who requested me to accept, for eventual analysis, a mountain of anthropometric data he had accumulated, as he was ill and did not expect to survive to analyse it himself. The data provided the astonishment; twenty-two anthropometric characters recorded every six months or a year, over a period of 14 years, in a mixed longitudinal study of some 560 children, aged six months to twenty years. Most were in families with siblings also in the study, and every child was measured every time by S. R. Das himself. The archive was unique, combining the personal anthropometry of R. H. Whitehouse in the Harpenden Growth Study and the family approach of the Fels Growth Study. This was a study of which neither I, nor anyone of my acquaintance, had heard. Even in India, Prof. Das' work was scarcely known. It turned out Das was a scholarly man, quiet and unassuming, absolutely committed to his Sarsuna-Barisha Growth Study, just the obverse of the professional showman. Clearly this was not a request I could refuse, although I already had in hand enough projects to occupy Siva himself.

Book La Revolucion Bolivariana Democratiza Los DD Hh Basicos

Download or read book La Revolucion Bolivariana Democratiza Los DD Hh Basicos written by Carlos Gonz Lez Irago and published by Palibrio. This book was released on 2012-01-06 with total page 409 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Inequality and Nutritional Transition in Economic History

Download or read book Inequality and Nutritional Transition in Economic History written by Francisco J. Medina-Albaladejo and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2023-04-13 with total page 297 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Food consumption and nutrition are historically among the most characteristic features of inequality in living standards driven by socioeconomic, gender, generational and geographical reasons. Nutrition directly impacts mortality, life expectancy, height and illness and thus becomes a good indicator of living standards and their evolution over time. However, one issue that remains unresolved is how to measure past diet inequalities with the available sources. This book evaluates nutritional inequalities in Spain from the nineteenth century to the present day. It explores the socioeconomic, gender, generational and geographical variations in food consumption and nutrition in Spain during this period. Deriving historical data on nutrition and diet has always been difficult due to issues with available sources. This book adopts a multi-dimensional approach and two complementary methodologies capable of presenting a more comprehensive picture: the first analyses diets based on primary sources, while the second examines the effect of nutritional inequalities on biological living standards, with special emphasis on average height. This combination allows for greater precision than previous studies on the impacts of food inequality. This book will be of significant interest to scholars from different academic branches, especially historians, economic historians and historians of science, economists, and also doctors, endocrinologists, paediatricians, anthropologists, nutritionists and expert in cooperation and development.
