Book International Thermodynamic Tables of the Fluid State Helium 4

Download or read book International Thermodynamic Tables of the Fluid State Helium 4 written by S. Angus and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2016-04-20 with total page 293 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: International Thermodynamic Tables of the Fluid State Helium-4 presents the IUPAC Thermodynamic Tables for the thermodynamic properties of helium. The IUPAC Thermodynamic Tables Project has therefore encouraged the critical analysis of the available thermodynamic measurements for helium and their synthesis into tables. This book is divided into three chapters. The first chapter discusses the experimental results and compares with the equations used to generate the tables. These equations are supplemented by a vapor pressure equation, which represents the 1958 He-4 scale of temperature that is defined in terms of the vapor pressure of helium-4. The second chapter are devoted to various equation of state used for the determination of thermodynamic properties. The third chapter contains IUPAC Tables, including their construction, limits, use, and accuracy. This book will be of value to physical chemists and researchers in the field.

Book An Equation of State for the Thermodynamic Properties of Helium

Download or read book An Equation of State for the Thermodynamic Properties of Helium written by Allan H. Harvey and published by . This book was released on 2023 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report documents the equation of state for fluid helium implemented in Version 10 of NIST's REFPROP Standard Reference Database. The equation of state is expressed as the molar Helmholtz energy as a function of temperature and density, and is valid for the normal fluid (helium I) up to 1500 K and 2000 MPa. Limited comparisons with experimental data and with virial coefficients calculated by ab initio methods are provided.

Book Helium Research Center Internal Report

Download or read book Helium Research Center Internal Report written by Robert E. Barieau and published by . This book was released on 1966 with total page 112 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: General expressions for evaluating practically all the thermodynamic properties of a fluid from a single equation of state are derived. The formulas are expressed in terms of the compressibility factor, with this factor being an explicit function of the temperature and molal density. Similar expressions are given using reduced variables.

Book Thermodynamic Properties of Cryogenic Fluids

Download or read book Thermodynamic Properties of Cryogenic Fluids written by Jacob W. Leachman and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-07-30 with total page 220 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This update to a classic reference text provides practising engineers and scientists with accurate thermophysical property data for cryogenic fluids. The equations for fifteen important cryogenic fluids are presented in a basic format, accompanied by pressure-enthalpy and temperature-entropy charts and tables of thermodynamic properties. It begins with a chapter introducing the thermodynamic relations and functional forms for equations of state, and goes on to describe the requirements for thermodynamic property formulations, needed for the complete definition of the thermodynamic properties of a fluid. The core of the book comprises extensive data tables and charts for the most commonly-encountered cryogenic fluids. This new edition sees significant updates to the data presented for air, argon, carbon monoxide, deuterium, ethane, helium, hydrogen, krypton, nitrogen and xenon. The book supports and complements NIST’s REFPROP - an interactive database and tool for the calculation of thermodynamic properties of cryogenic fluids.

Book Helium Research Center Internal Report

Download or read book Helium Research Center Internal Report written by Robert E. Barieau and published by . This book was released on 1966 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: General expressions for evaluating various thermodynamic properties applicable to the Van der Waals equation of state have been derived. These formulas were subsequently used to evaluate the thermodynamic functions in the two-phase region. The results indicate that, for a Van der Waals fluid, there is a finite discontinuity in the second derivative of the vapor pressure curve, in the second derivative of the chemical potential or Gibbs free energy at the critical point, and in the heat capacity at constant volume measured at the critical density. Numerical values are tabulated and graphs are presented for all functions calculated.
