Misunderstanding, overlooking, and lack of diversity appreciation and representation are some causes that harm American Indian recruitment and retention within higher education. This research project explores the reasoning behind why American Indians attend or do not attend college immediately after high school. Also explored, is how life experiences may influence the recruitment and retention of American Indian students.
