Download or read book ALLSPD 3D Version 1 0a written by and published by . This book was released on 1996 with total page 168 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report describes the ALLSPD-3D computer program for the calculation of three-dimensional, chemically reacting flows with sprays. ALLSPD-3D employs a coupled, strongly implicit solution procedure for turbulent spray combustion flows. ALLSPD-3D utilizes generalized curvilinear coordinates with both multi-block and flexible internal blockage capabilities to handle complex geometries. The ALLSPD-3D algorithm, which employs preconditioning and eigenvalue rescaling techniques, is capable of providing efficient solution of flows over a wide range of subsonic Mach numbers. The chemistry treatment in the code is general enough that an arbitrary number of reactions and species can be defined by the users. In addition, for general industrial combustion applications, the code provides both dilution and transpiration cooling capabilities. A stochastic spray model and an efficient method for treating the spray source terms in the gas-phase equations are used to analyze evaporating spray droplets. Although written for three-dimensional flows, the code can be used for two-dimensional and axisymmetric flow computations as well. The code is written in such a way that it can be run on various computer platforms (supercomputers, workstations, and parallel processors) while the GUI (Graphical User Interface) should provide a user-friendly tool for setting up and running the code.
Download or read book Parallel ALLSPD 3D Speeding Up Combustor Analysis Via Parallel Processing written by David M. Fricker and published by . This book was released on 1997 with total page 14 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The ALLSPD-3D Computational Fluid Dynamics code for reacting flow simulation was run on a set of benchmark test cases to determine its parallel efficiency. These test cases included non-reacting and reacting flow simulations with varying numbers of processors. Also, the tests explored the effects of scaling the simulation with the number of processors in addition to distributing a constant size problem over an increasing number of processors. The test cases were run on a cluster of IBM RS/60000 Model 590 workstations with ethernet arid ATM networking plus a shared memory SGI Power Challenge L workstation. The results indicate that the network capabilities significantly influence the parallel efficiency, i.e., a shared memory machine is fastest and ATM networking provides acceptable performance. The limitations of ethernet greatly hamper the rapid calculation of flows using ALLSPD-3D.

Download or read book The ADI Model Problem written by Eugene Wachspress and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2014-07-08 with total page 169 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The ADI Model Problem presents the theoretical foundations of Alternating Direction Implicit (ADI) iteration for systems with both real and complex spectra and extends early work for real spectra into the complex plane with methods for computing optimum iteration parameters for both one and two variable problems. This book provides application of theory to the solution of boundary value problems and description of stable similarity reduction of a full matrix to low-band upper Hessenberg form, with application to computation of eigenvalues and solution of Lyapunov and Sylvester equations. Also included are MATLAB programs and numerical verification of theory and applications.
Download or read book Supramolecular Chemistry in the 3rd Millennium written by Catherine E. Housecroft and published by MDPI. This book was released on 2021-08-18 with total page 264 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This Special Issue is one of the first for the new MDPI flagship journal Chemistry (ISSN 2624-8549) which has a broad remit for publishing original research in all areas of chemistry. The theme of this issue is Supramolecular Chemistry in the 3rd Millennium and I am sure that this topic will attract many exciting contributions. We chose this topic because it encompasses the unity of contemporary pluridisciplinary science, in which organic, inorganic, physical and theoretical chemists work together with molecular biologists and physicists to develop a systems-level understanding of molecular interactions. The description of supramolecular chemistry as 'chemistry beyond the molecule' (Jean-Marie Lehn, Nobel Lecture and Gautam R. Desiraju, Nature, 2001, 412, 397) addresses the wide variety of weak, non-covalent interactions that are the basis for the assembly of supramolecular architectures, molecular receptors and molecular recognition, programed molecular systems, dynamic combinatorial libraries, coordination networks and functional supramolecular materials. We welcome submissions from all disciplines involved in this exciting and evolving area of science.
Download or read book Lightning written by Chandima Gomes and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-08-13 with total page 330 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book highlights the essential theoretical and practical aspects of lightning, lightning protection, safety and education. Additionally, several auxiliary topics that are required to understand the core themes are also included. The main objective of the contents is to enlighten the scientists, researchers, engineers and social activists (including policy makers) in developing countries regarding the key information related to lightning and thunderstorms. A majority of developing countries are in tropics where the lightning characteristics are somewhat different from those in temperate regions. The housing structures and power/communication networks, and human behavioural patterns(that depends on socio-economic parameters) in these countries are also different from those in the developed world. As the existing books on similar themes address only those scenarios in developed countries, this book serves a vast spectrum of readership in developing world who seek knowledge in the principles of lightning and a practical guidance on lightning protection and safety education.

Download or read book Iterative Solution Methods written by Owe Axelsson and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 1996-03-29 with total page 676 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book deals primarily with the numerical solution of linear systems of equations by iterative methods. The first part of the book is intended to serve as a textbook for a numerical linear algebra course. The material assumes the reader has a basic knowledge of linear algebra, such as set theory and matrix algebra, however it is demanding for students who are not afraid of theory. To assist the reader, the more difficult passages have been marked, the definitions for each chapter are collected at the beginning of the chapter, and numerous exercises are included throughout the text. The second part of the book serves as a monograph introducing recent results in the iterative solution of linear systems, mainly using preconditioned conjugate gradient methods. This book should be a valuable resource for students and researchers alike wishing to learn more about iterative methods.
Download or read book Theory and Technology of Roll Stamping written by Vyacheslav Aleksandrovich Golenkov and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-01-27 with total page 308 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book gives a complete overview of the roll stamping process of metal forming. Download or read book Numerical Simulation in Fluid Dynamics written by Michael Griebel and published by SIAM. This book was released on 1998-01-01 with total page 222 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this translation of the German edition, the authors provide insight into the numerical simulation of fluid flow. Using a simple numerical method as an expository example, the individual steps of scientific computing are presented: the derivation of the mathematical model; the discretization of the model equations; the development of algorithms; parallelization; and visualization of the computed data. In addition to the treatment of the basic equations for modeling laminar, transient flow of viscous, incompressible fluids - the Navier-Stokes equations - the authors look at the simulation of free surface flows; energy and chemical transport; and turbulence. Readers are enabled to write their own flow simulation program from scratch. The variety of applications is shown in several simulation results, including 92 black-and-white and 18 color illustrations. After reading this book, readers should be able to understand more enhanced algorithms of computational fluid dynamics and apply their new knowledge to other scientific fields.
