Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Its All about Him comes from an author who has wrestled with God and her own emotions. The book reveals how God has met her, leads her, and cared for her in his faithfulness. Here is a practical, helpful work for Christians who desire to grow in their life with God. Rev. Kent Meads, Community Presbyterian Church d The statement Its all about Him often leads to the question Who is he (him)? When the author asks, Who do you think he is? she gets varying responses. A few guessed it is God. When answering the question from a biblical perspective, it becomes clear God is the center of the universe: its all about Him. This awareness conflicts with many of the assumptions at work in todays culture. A licensed psychologist, Dr. Brittell came across the question What is it all about? in many forms. People are searching for meaning and attachment, sometimes in all the wrong places. The loss of selfresulting from anxiety, depression, and other disordersis not only a personal loss but a cultural loss as well. For Christians there are answers in the Bible. Many have no idea how or where to find them. Those who are unfamiliar with Christian principles may have no idea where to begin looking for the answers. In reading Its All about Him you will find principles that were established at the time of creation and have continued to this day. Your sense of self, worth, and purpose are found in relationship with God. Finding God in a world full of noise, clutter, and fantasies is not always easy, but it is always simple. An excellent study for a small group setting. Rev. Rich Latta, pastor, Dinuba Presbyterian Church

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: After 17 years of marriage, three beautiful children, and a full-time ministry, it became harder and harder for me to be involved in the day-to-day aspects of full-time ministry. I began to seek alternative ways to continue to reach out to women without being physically at church, and at my husband's prompting, I begin writing a blog called "It’s all about Him". These posts are not big miraculous happenings, but are words of encouragement and strength highlighting simple, everyday life lessons, some funny, some scary, some serious, but all real and fulfilling. Through these simple experiences, I have learned that life is what you make it. This book was literally pushed into existence by the women who have been extraordinarily blessed by the blog. Hopefully, you will laugh a little, relate a little, and at the end of the day, come to realize that it’s really all about Him.

Download or read book It s All About Him written by Denise Jackson and published by HarperChristian + ORM. This book was released on 2007-07-29 with total page 201 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Alan and Denise Jackson's life seemed like a fairy tale: high school sweethearts marry young and leave small-town Georgia to pursue big dreams in Music City. They pay their dues, work hard, weather deep disappointments. Then their dreams come true. In fairy tales, the Jacksons' material success?plus their "perfect" marriage, their three beautiful daughters, and their supportive families?would have signaled a happily-ever-after ending. But real life is different from fairy tales. At the pinnacle of their success, the Jacksons separated. For Alan, musical renown fame, and wealth still did not make up for the marital problems the Jacksons had struggled with for years. And for Denise, building her life around Alan and riding the tide of his success had somehow left her hollow, unsure of just who she really was. You don't have to be rich and famous to go through struggles like these. Sooner or later, we all come to the point when we relize that real joy and peace isn't just around the corner of the next achievement, the next relationship, the next new thing. That's why Alan and Denise Jackson's story isn't just a great read and a dramatic, intimate look at the golden world of celebrity. It's a story of the greatest love of all, the love that will never let you go . . . and how to find it, no matter who you are, where you live, or what you've done. "Denise's story is an inside perspective on the results of the ups and downs of fame. Her personal struggles with life's ordinary and extraordinary consequences, her passion to have a stronger marriage, and her desire to have a closer walk with God make for a truly inspiring life." ?Carrie Underwood, 2005 American Idol Winner, ACM & CMA Female Vocalist of the Year

Book It s All about Him

Download or read book It s All about Him written by Nate Holcomb and published by . This book was released on 2002 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In a society that encourages us to believe it's all about "me, me, me," it is a novel concept to discover it's really all about Christ. When we fail to recognize it's all about Him and begin to think that it is all about us, we are setting ourselves up for a great fall, shares Bishop Nate Holcomb in this thought-provoking new book It's All About Him: The Doctrine of Christ. How can the righteous prepare for battle? You can commit to learning Christ's doctrine and the six guiding principles. Don't miss this chance to obtain these spiritual life-saving lessons Accentuated by theological linguistic history and backed by scriptural documentation, It's All About Him relates that most Christians sadly cannot enunciate or enumerate the principles of the doctrine of Christ -- even if their lives depend on it. Ironically, the spiritual life of a Christian does, in fact, depend on these paramount teachings. This masterfully written book is an important weapon for every Christian's war chest.

Book It Was All a Dream

Download or read book It Was All a Dream written by Justin Tinsley and published by Abrams. This book was released on 2022-05-10 with total page 406 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From a talented young journalist on the rise, a deeply reported, timely new biography of the Notorious B.I.G., publishing for what would have been his 50th birthday The Notorious B.I.G. was one of the most charismatic and talented artists of the 1990s. Born Christopher Wallace and raised in Clinton Hill/Bed Stuy, Brooklyn, Biggie lived an almost archetypal rap life: young trouble, drug dealing, guns, prison, a giant hit record, the wealth and international superstardom that came with it, then an early violent death. Biggie released his first record, Ready to Die, in 1994, when he was only 22. Less than three years later, he was killed just days before the planned release of his second record Life After Death. Journalist Justin Tinsley’s It Was All a Dream is a fresh, insightful telling of the life beyond the legend. It is based on extensive interviews with those who knew and loved Biggie, including neighbors, friends, DJs, party promoters, and journalists. And it places Biggie’s life in context, both within the history of rap but also the wider cultural and political forces that shaped him, including Caribbean immigration, the Reagan era disinvestment in public education, street life, the war on drugs, mass incarceration, and the booming, creative, and influential 1990s music industry. This is the story of where Biggie came from, the forces that shaped him, and the legacy he has left behind.

Book Stephen Ward Scapegoat They All Loved Him But When It Went Wrong They Killed Him

This book was released on 2013-12-16 with total page 257 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Global hit-maker Andrew Lloyd-Webber's new musical spotlights the world of Stephen Ward - the social cavalier who knew everyone who mattered - and his enigmatic role in the great political scandal of the 20th Century.Yet, few truly knew the rakish charmer who was the catalytic character of The Profumo Affair.A talented osteopath and artist, Stephen Ward treated, sketched and seduced the great and often not-so-good of the post-war years. He healed Churchill, Gandhi, Frank Sinatra and Elizabeth Taylor; he drew Princess Margaret, the Duke of Edinburgh, Harold Macmillan and, of course, Christine Keeler, whose striking likeness by him hangs in the National Portrait Gallery in London. Everyone loved the superbly well-connected Stephen Ward. But when Christine Keeler slept with two of his friends - British War Minister John Profumo and Soviet superspy Eugene Ivanov - President Kennedy's White House went haywire, suspicion and scandal cast a shroud over Dr Ward's world. In the middle of a nuclear poker game, Stephen Ward soon had MI5 and MI6 snapping at his heels, along with the KGB, the CIA and the FBI at his shoulder. The spooks all feared what he might know - or do. The British Establishment, keen to see him gone, brushed him off.The infamous persecution, torturous trial and death of Stephen Ward still shocks. Now, best-selling author Douglas Thompson has traced confidants of Stephen Ward, speaking for the first time in more than half a century; along with newly-discovered government documents, he has gathered their eyewitness accounts of Downing Street intrigue, sex orgies and dangerous liaisons. Posterity is ferociously capricious but there are still those alive who know the secrets and the true story of Stephen Ward, which is brilliantly told here in Scapegoat.

Book excerpt: "Hilarity transfiguring all that dread, manic overflow of powerful feeling, zero at the bone—Flies renders its desolation with singular invention and focus and figuration: the making of these poems makes them exhilarating."—James Laughlin Award citation "Reading Michael [Dickman] is like stepping out of an overheated apartment building to be met, unexpectedly, by an exhilaratingly chill gust of wind."—The New Yorker "These are lithe, seemingly effortless poems, poems whose strange affective power remains even after several readings."—The Believer Winner of the James Laughlin Award for the best second book by an American poet, Flies presents an uncompromising vision of joy and devastating loss through a strict economy of language and an exuberant surrealism. Michael Dickman's poems bring us back to the wonder and violence of childhood, and the desire to connect with a power greater than ourselves. Book Trusting Him in All of Life s Situations

Download or read book Trusting Him in All of Life s Situations written by Irene Bryan and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2023-12-29 with total page 119 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Life's journey carries one in many directions and through different paths and roads. One does not know what situations one may encounter. But what one does know is God can be trusted to help navigate one through. Situations will come, and that is a fact because Jesus said so. And whatever Jesus said will be so because he is not a liar. It is a comfort to know that when situations come, Jesus will be there to see us through. Situations are not always easy to face, especially when there is a time of waiting. As humans, we often want instant gratification. But that is not how God works. He works through his time and not ours. Trusting him with our situations teaches us how to wait. Waiting requires other things with it, such as faith, hope, and trust. These are the antidote to help us not to become anxious, fearful, discouraged, and worried. These are the things that will consume and prevent us from trusting him when situations come. There are stories in the Bible from the Old and New Testaments that illustrate various situations God's people face. Through these stories, we learn about the struggles and hardships many experienced during their situations. We also gain insight into how his people, such as Joseph, Moses, David, Ruth, Ester, Job, Paul, Silas, and others trusted in God in their situations. They believed that God was able to meet the need of the situation, so they were able to trust in him. And guess what, they were not disappointed. And neither will you if you trust him in all of your life's situations.
