Download or read book Alkoxyl Carbonyloxyl Phenoxyl and Related Radicals written by J.A. Howard and published by Springer. This book was released on 1997-01-31 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Free radicals, which are key intermediates in many thermal, photochemical and radiation processes, are important for a proper understanding of fundamental natural processes and the successful development of organic syntheses. Volume II/18 serves as a supplement and extension to volume II/13 and covers rate constants and other kinetic data of free radical reactions in liquids. Furthermore II/18 contains new chapters on reactions of radicals in excited states and of carbenes, nitrenes and analogues. Selected species in aqueous solutions for which other compilations are available were deliberately omitted as before, and for the same reason electron transfer equilibria of organic radicals were not covered.

Download or read book A Novel Heme Thiolate Peroxygenase AaeAPO and Its Implications for C H Activation Chemistry written by Xiaoshi Wang and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-10-16 with total page 153 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this thesis, Xiaoshi Wang investigates the function and mechanism of a newly discovered heme-thiolate peroxygenase, AaeAPO. This enzyme class comes from Agrocybe aegerita and is used in the conversion of inert hydrocarbons to alcohols. Xiaoshi's work focuses on an extracellular P450 enzyme which is not limited in its stability and lack of solubility and therefore is relevant for widespread industrial use. The author demonstrates that the peroxygenase catalyzes a wide range of reactions. In some cases the author even describes very difficult transformations in molecules that are highly inert. Her detailed investigations provide a mechanistic framework for how the peroxygenase catalyzes such a large number of reactions. A major highlight of this thesis is the identification of key short-lived intermediates in the catalytic cycle of the peroxygenase, using rapid kinetic and spectroscopic methods, as well as the elucidation of the thermodynamic properties of these high-energy intermediates. This work adds new insight into an important class of enzymes.

Download or read book Part a 1 1 1 and 1 1 2 type compounds written by W. Suski and published by Springer. This book was released on 2003-01-29 with total page 476 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The magnetic properties of lanthanide (Ln) pnictides and chalcogenides have been compioled in subvolume 27B. Subvolumes 27B1, 27B2 and 27B3 (already published) deal with Ln monopnictides, monochalcogenides and binary polypnictides and polychalcogenides, respectively. Subvolume 27B4 is devoted to the ternary Ln pnictides. The first part 4a deals with ternary 1:1:1 and 1:1:2 type compounds, while a second part 4b will cover the types 1:2:2, 1:4:12, 3:3:4 and compounds with even more complex formulae.–Ternary Ln pnictides and chalcogenides are intensively studied due to fundamental importance resulting from the f-d interaction and hybridisation, and also due to problems and properties related to heavy fermions, non-Fermi liquid state, spin fluctuations, etc., and also due to the hope of applying these compounds as magnetic, thermoelectric or superconducting materials.
Download or read book Elements and Compounds from AgBr to Ba3N2 written by Scientific Group Thermodata Europe (SGTE) and published by Springer. This book was released on 1999-04-30 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Thermodynamic data for inorganic materials are fundamental for the optimisation of existing process parameters and for investigating suitable parameters for carrying out potential new processes. With the aid of such data, time and costs can be saved by calculating the conditions necessary to produce a material of the required composition and specified purity, with a minimum usage of energy and input materials and with a minimum release of harmful substances to the environment. The SGTE evaluated data presented here are tabulated values of standard thermodynamic properties (enthalpy of formation and standard entropy at 298.15K, enthalpies and temperatures of transition, heat content) for each substance, together with plotted heat capacity, Gibbs energy and enthalpy of formation functions up to the maximum temperature for which the data for that substance have been evaluated. The data are presented in 3 subvolumes, A: Pure Substances, B: Binary Systems, C: Ternary and Multi-Component Systems.
Download or read book II VI and I VII Compounds Semimagnetic Compounds written by U. Rössler and published by Springer. This book was released on 1999-07-23 with total page 721 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Vols. III/17a-i and III/22a, b (supplement) on semiconductor physics and technology have been published earlier, the latter covering new data on the technologically important group IV elements and III-V, II-VI and I-VII compounds only. The wealth of further data from the last decade is now being critically evaluated by over 30 well-known experts in the field of semiconductors. To meet the demands of todays scientists and to offer a complete overview on semiconductor data all data available so far are published in the following way: a series of five subvolumes covers only the supplementary data to volumes III/17 and 22. Enclosed to each subvolume, a CD-ROM contains a complete, revised and update edition of all relevant data. For each individual substance the information is presented in userfriendly documents, containing data, figures and references. Easy access to the documents is provided via substance and property keywords, listings and full text retrieval.
