Book excerpt: Le chapitre 1 rappelle brièvement les propriétés fondamentales des représentations conjointes temps-fréquence et présente les propriétés générales des représentations de Flanagan-Pimonov et de Wigner-Ville qui sont les deux représentations que nous avons étudiées. L'atténuation des ondes longitudinales pénétrant dans un matériau composite a été étudiée. Les résultats obtenus ont été comparés avec ceux trouvés dans la littérature pour le même type de matériau. Le modèle de propagation d'une onde dans un milieu multicouche a donné de bons résultats. Il a permis de modéliser des délaminages et des porosités. Nous avons ensuite comparé la structure temps-fréquence des signaux modélisant un défaut avec ceux issus de l'expérience. A l'aide de ce modèle nous avons obtenu des signaux possédant une atténuation locale que nous avons ensuite tenté de mettre en évidence à l'aide de la fréquence instantanée. Nous avons étudié la dispersion d'une onde quasi transversale à l'aide de la représentation de Wigner-Ville. Une méthode de discrimination de défaut basée sur la recherche de paramètres caractéristiques à été développée dans le but de caractériser des défauts dans des matériaux composites et dans des matériaux élaborés par métallurgie des poudres. L'interaction du faisceau ultrasonore émis dans la structure comportant un défaut donne lieu à différents phénomènes physiques : réflexion spéculaire, diffraction, conversions de mode. De plus, si le défaut est situé à proximité du fond de la pièce, apparaissent des échos de coin dus à des réflexions successives sur le fond et le défaut et des échos de géométrie dus aux irrégularités de la géométrie du fond. L'image ultrasonore de type Bscan contenant la signature des défauts se caractérise alors par une multiplicité d'indications ultrasonores qui rend difficile l'interprétation des données. Une méthode d'inversion appelant un modèle mixte a été développée. Cette méthode est basée sur la combinaison d'un modèle d'initialisation des solutions et d'un critère de dissemblance avec des résultats simulés. L'approche proposée est appliquée sur des résultats de simulation et des mesures expérimentales afin d'évaluer ses performances.
