Book Guideline for EN 9100 2018

Download or read book Guideline for EN 9100 2018 written by Martin Hinsch and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-05-02 with total page 172 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The European Standard EN 9100 is the industry-specific norm of the aerospace and defence industry. For cooperation with an aerospace company, certification according to this standard is usually mandatory for suppliers. This book provides support in understanding and implementing the standard or when switching from ISO 9001:2015 to EN 9100:2018. After an introduction to the ISO 9001, the emphasis is placed on the core characteristics of EN 9100 and EN 9120. The book focuses primarily on the explanation and translation of the standards' text into the language of everyday business. The structure of the book strictly follows that of EN 9100:2018. Numerous practical examples facilitate the understanding and implementation in your own company. Where appropriate, special characteristics of the distributor standard EN 9120 are also discussed. Finally, the author describes the certification process in great detail. This includes the preparation, the selection of a certification auditor and a certification body as well as the execution of the audit including process measurements, the handling of nonconformities and the issuing of the certificate. Due to the high degree of congruence between the standards of the EN 9100 series, this book is also suitable as a guideline for the EN 9110 for maintenance organisations and the EN 9120 for distributors. The target group This textbook is aimed at employees working in the quality department of suppliers in the aerospace industry.

Book Maintenance for Industrial Systems

Download or read book Maintenance for Industrial Systems written by Riccardo Manzini and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2009-11-09 with total page 479 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: New, global and extended markets are forcing companies to process and manage increasingly differentiated products with shorter life cycles, low volumes and reduced customer delivery times. In today’s global marketplace production systems need to be able to deliver products on time, maintain market credibility and introduce new products and services faster than competitors. As a result, a new production paradigm of a production system has been developed and a supporting management decision-making approach simultaneously incorporating design, management, and control of the production system is necessary so that this challenge can be effectively and efficiency met. "Maintenance Engineering and its Applications in Production Systems" meets this need by introducing an original and integrated idea of maintenance: maintenance for productivity. The volume starts with the introduction and discussion of a new conceptual framework based on productivity, quality, and safety supported by maintenance. Subsequent chapters illustrate the most relevant models and methods to plan, organise, implement and control the whole maintenance process (reliability evaluation models and prediction, maintenance strategies and policies, spare parts management, computer maintenance management software – CMMS, and total productive maintenance – TPM, etc.). Several examples of problems supported by solutions, and real applications to help and test the reader’s comprehension are included. "Maintenance Engineering and its Applications in Production Systems" will certainly be valuable to engineering students, doctoral and post-doctoral students and also to maintenance practitioners, as well as managers of industrial and service companies.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Quality assurance in aviation and space industry poses extraordinary challenges for measurement engineers. High standards for safety-critical parts must be maintained without reducing manufacturing speed and overall productivity. At the same time, the demands on the aerospace industry to develop aircraft that are as fuel-efficient and quiet as possible have increased enormously. And the aerospace industry wants to meet these requirements, whether in terms of noise emissions or fuel consumption. This is where industrial metrology with all its inspection capabilities, sensors and software solutions can make a valuable contribution. These possibilities are shown in this book. The demands placed on the aerospace industry are reinforced by strict regulations and approval processes – including additional specifications, traceability, conformity and certification standards. Be it EN/AS 9100, NadCap, test procedures according to AS 13003, 13006, EN/AS 9138 or others, the implementation of these procedures with coordinate measuring systems is part of this book.

Book Verification Validation and Testing of Engineered Systems

Download or read book Verification Validation and Testing of Engineered Systems written by Avner Engel and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2010-06-15 with total page 723 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Systems' Verification Validation and Testing (VVT) are carried out throughout systems' lifetimes. Notably, quality-cost expended on performing VVT activities and correcting system defects consumes about half of the overall engineering cost. Verification, Validation and Testing of Engineered Systems provides a comprehensive compendium of VVT activities and corresponding VVT methods for implementation throughout the entire lifecycle of an engineered system. In addition, the book strives to alleviate the fundamental testing conundrum, namely: What should be tested? How should one test? When should one test? And, when should one stop testing? In other words, how should one select a VVT strategy and how it be optimized? The book is organized in three parts: The first part provides introductory material about systems and VVT concepts. This part presents a comprehensive explanation of the role of VVT in the process of engineered systems (Chapter-1). The second part describes 40 systems' development VVT activities (Chapter-2) and 27 systems' post-development activities (Chapter-3). Corresponding to these activities, this part also describes 17 non-testing systems' VVT methods (Chapter-4) and 33 testing systems' methods (Chapter-5). The third part of the book describes ways to model systems’ quality cost, time and risk (Chapter-6), as well as ways to acquire quality data and optimize the VVT strategy in the face of funding, time and other resource limitations as well as different business objectives (Chapter-7). Finally, this part describes the methodology used to validate the quality model along with a case study describing a system’s quality improvements (Chapter-8). Fundamentally, this book is written with two categories of audience in mind. The first category is composed of VVT practitioners, including Systems, Test, Production and Maintenance engineers as well as first and second line managers. The second category is composed of students and faculties of Systems, Electrical, Aerospace, Mechanical and Industrial Engineering schools. This book may be fully covered in two to three graduate level semesters; although parts of the book may be covered in one semester. University instructors will most likely use the book to provide engineering students with knowledge about VVT, as well as to give students an introduction to formal modeling and optimization of VVT strategy.
