Download or read book Advances in Object Oriented Information Systems written by Jean-Michel Bruel and published by Springer. This book was released on 2003-08-02 with total page 325 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For the ?rst time four workshops have been held in conjunction with the 8th Object-Oriented Information Systems conference, OOIS 2002, to encourage - teraction between researchers and practitioners. Workshop topics are, of course, inline with the conference’s scienti?c scope and provide a forum for groups of researchers and practitioners to meet together more closely and to exchange opinions and advanced ideas, and to share preliminary results on focused issues in an atmosphere that fosters interaction and problem solving. The conference hosted four one-day workshops. The four selected workshops were fully in the spirit of a workshop session hosted by a main conference. Indeed, OOIS deals with all the topics related to the use of object-oriented techniques for the development of information systems. The four workshops are very speci?c and contribute to enlarging the spectrum of the more general topics treated in the main conference. The ?rst workshop focused on a very speci?c and key c- cept of object-oriented development, the specialization/generalization hierarchy. The second one explored the use of “non-traditional” approaches (at the edge of object-oriented techniques, such as aspects, AI, etc.) to improve reuse. The third workshop dealt with optimization in Web-based information systems. And ?nally the fourth workshop investigated issues related to model-driven software development.

Download or read book Building Application Servers written by Rick Leander and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2000-02-13 with total page 441 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: To address new demands in business computing, software vendors are introducing application server toolkits. The concept is to create clusters of low-cost computers that support one specific business area, then connect these clusters to the corporate network. By using the network as the computer, one piece of software can support desktop computing, electronic commerce, and communication with traditional mainframe software. Building Application Servers is a practical guide to application server technology, explaining the theory of network computing and providing practical techniques that use these tools to produce effective business solutions. Rick Leander includes practical examples and program code that use UML, Java, RMI, and JDBC to illustrate design problems and programming techniques. The development framework offered spans a variety of platforms, vendors, and middleware architectures. Software developers who are familiar with traditional client/server technology but want to learn how to move to distributed client/server computing will find this book invaluable.

This book was released on 2014-01-28 with total page 469 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Object-Oriented Analysis and Design for Information Systems clearly explains real object-oriented programming in practice. Expert author Raul Sidnei Wazlawick explains concepts such as object responsibility, visibility and the real need for delegation in detail. The object-oriented code generated by using these concepts in a systematic way is concise, organized and reusable. The patterns and solutions presented in this book are based in research and industrial applications. You will come away with clarity regarding processes and use cases and a clear understand of how to expand a use case. Wazlawick clearly explains clearly how to build meaningful sequence diagrams. Object-Oriented Analysis and Design for Information Systems illustrates how and why building a class model is not just placing classes into a diagram. You will learn the necessary organizational patterns so that your software architecture will be maintainable. - Learn how to build better class models, which are more maintainable and understandable. - Write use cases in a more efficient and standardized way, using more effective and less complex diagrams. - Build true object-oriented code with division of responsibility and delegation.

Kunii Preface The goal of this book is to give concrete answers to questions such as what object oriented databases are, why they are needed, how they are implemented, and how they are applied, by describing a research prototype object-oriented database system called Jasmine. That is, this book is aimed at creating a consistent view to object-oriented databases. The contents of this book are directly based on the results of the Jasmine project conducted at Fujitsu Laboratories, Ltd. The book is a polished version of my doctoral dissertation, which includes research papers which I have authored and published.

Download or read book Advanced Information Systems Engineering written by Benkt Wangler and published by Springer. This book was released on 2003-06-29 with total page 536 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: CAiSE 2000 was the 12th in the series of International Conferences on Advanced Information Systems Engineering. In the year 2000 the conference returned to Stockholm where it was organized the very first time. Since that year, 1989, the CAiSE conferences have developed into an important forum for the presentation and exchange of research results and practical experiences within the field of Information Systems Engineering. The objective of the CAiSE conference series is to bring together researchers and practitioners in the field of information systems engineering to meet annually in order to discuss evolving research issues and applications in this field. The CAiSE conference series also aims to provide an opportunity for young scientists to establish relationships with senior scientists in their areas of interest. Stockholm is an important center of research and development for some of the leading IT and communications companies in Europe and indeed, in the world. In tune with this environment, a major theme of CAiSE 2000 was "information systems and services in a digitized world". This theme reflects the vast improvements in communication technology, including the increasing use of Internet and WWW, that has taken place over the last years, and that has led to better communication and easier information access in general. In addition, this development has initiated changes in the way organizations cooperate and trade.
