Book Advances in Nonlinear Waves and Symbolic Computation

Download or read book Advances in Nonlinear Waves and Symbolic Computation written by Zhenya Yan and published by . This book was released on 2009 with total page 168 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With the rapid development of science and technology, the computer has become an important tool in many science fields. Particularly, symbolic computation, which is one of the most exciting and challenging areas. It has been applied in many sciences such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, mechanics, engineering, etc., in particular, non-linear sciences ad complex sciences. Nowadays, many symbolic computation softwares have been used to deal with these problems. Up to now, there have existed many non-linear differential/difference systems related to solitons and chaos in the non-linear science field. In order to understand these complex physical phenomena, it is important to research some of their basic properties. Because of the complexity of these non-linear systems, with the symbolic computation, this new book presents important research on non-linear differential/difference systems, related to solitons and chaos as well as other non-linear sciences in views of constructive algorithms.

This book was released on 2018-04-03 with total page 272 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the first book devoted to the task of computing integrability structures by computer. The symbolic computation of integrability operator is a computationally hard problem and the book covers a huge number of situations through tutorials. The mathematical part of the book is a new approach to integrability structures that allows to treat all of them in a unified way. The software is an official package of Reduce. Reduce is free software, so everybody can download it and make experiments using the programs available at our website.

This book was released on 2021-09-07 with total page 510 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The third volume in this sequence of books consists of a collection of contributions that aims to describe the recent progress in nonlinear differential equations and nonlinear dynamical systems (both continuous and discrete). Nonlinear Systems and Their Remarkable Mathematical Structures: Volume 3, Contributions from China just like the first two volumes, consists of contributions by world-leading experts in the subject of nonlinear systems, but in this instance only featuring contributions by leading Chinese scientists who also work in China (in some cases in collaboration with western scientists). Features Clearly illustrate the mathematical theories of nonlinear systems and its progress to both the non-expert and active researchers in this area . Suitable for graduate students in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and some of the Engineering Sciences. Written in a careful pedagogical manner by those experts who have been involved in the research themselves, and each contribution is reasonably self-contained.

Book A Course on Nonlinear Waves

Download or read book A Course on Nonlinear Waves written by S.S. Shen and published by Springer. This book was released on 1993-06-30 with total page 327 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The aim of this book is to give a self-contained introduction to the mathe matical analysis and physical explanations of some basic nonlinear wave phe nomena. This volume grew out of lecture notes for graduate courf;!es which I gave at the University of Alberta, the University of Saskatchewan, ·and Texas A&M University. As an introduction it is not intended to be exhaustive iQ its choice of material, but rather to convey to interested readers a basic; yet practical, methodology as well as some of the more important results obtained since the 1950's. Although the primary purpose of this volume is to serve as a textbook, it should be useful to anyone who wishes to understand or conduct research into nonlinear waves. Here, for the first time, materials on X-ray crystallography and the forced Korteweg-de Vries equation are incorporated naturally into a textbook on non linear waves. Another characteristic feature of the book is the inclusion of four symbolic calculation programs written in MATHEMATICA. They emphasize outcomes rather than numerical methods and provide certain symbolic and nu merical results related to solitons. Requiring only one or two commands to run, these programs have user-friendly interfaces. For example, to get the explicit expression of the 2-soliton of the Korteweg-de Vries equation, one only needs to type in soliton[2] when using the program solipac.m.

Book Nonlinear Resonance Analysis

Download or read book Nonlinear Resonance Analysis written by Elena Kartashova and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2010-10-21 with total page 241 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nonlinear resonance analysis is a unique mathematical tool that can be used to study resonances in relation to, but independently of, any single area of application. This is the first book to present the theory of nonlinear resonances as a new scientific field, with its own theory, computational methods, applications and open questions. The book includes several worked examples, mostly taken from fluid dynamics, to explain the concepts discussed. Each chapter demonstrates how nonlinear resonance analysis can be applied to real systems, including large-scale phenomena in the Earth's atmosphere and novel wave turbulent regimes, and explains a range of laboratory experiments. The book also contains a detailed description of the latest computer software in the field. It is suitable for graduate students and researchers in nonlinear science and wave turbulence, along with fluid mechanics and number theory. Colour versions of a selection of the figures are available at www.cambridge.org/9780521763608.
