Book Federal Bankruptcy Judges Measuring Judges Case Related Workload

Download or read book Federal Bankruptcy Judges Measuring Judges Case Related Workload written by William Jenkins and published by DIANE Publishing. This book was released on 2010-03 with total page 20 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Judicial Conference of the U.S. uses 1,500 annual weighted case filings per authorized judgeship (judgeship position) in a bankruptcy court as an indicator of the need for additional bankruptcy judgeships for that court. Total annual weighted case filings for any specific bankruptcy court is the sum of the weights associated with each of the cases filed in the court in a year. The accuracy of weighted case filings rests in turn on the soundness of the methodology used to develop them. This statement is based on weighted case filings as a measure of bankruptcy judges¿ case-related workload and documentation provided by the Fed. Judicial Center in June 2009 on subsequent efforts to update the current weighted filings measure. Illustrations.

This book was released on 2016-09-26 with total page 138 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Need for Additional Bankruptcy Judges and the Role of the U. S. Trustee System: Hearing Before the Subcommittee on Administrative Oversight and the Courts of the Committee on the Judiciary, United States Senate, One Hundred Fourth Congress, Second Session; April 24, 1996 Our need for the 11 bankruptcy judgeships is real and acute. The assistance you have given to the bankruptcy judiciary many times in the past is desperately needed again. In asking for your help, I assure you that this request for new bankruptcy positions is made only after the judiciary has taken earnest and sincere steps to maximize all other programs to meet the districts' judgeship needs before asking for your assistance. Again, thank you for all your help. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Book excerpt: There have been long-standing questions about a lack of comprehensive and reliable information on consumer bankruptcies. The Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005 (Bankruptcy Reform Act) required the fed. judiciary's Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts to collect and report certain additional bankruptcy statistics and required the U.S. Trustee Program, which oversees bankruptcy case admin., to develop uniform final reports that provide certain specified data about each case. This report examines the: (1) availability and accessibility of data from the personal bankruptcy system; and (2) potential benefits and limitations of the new data requirements of the Bankruptcy Reform Act in addressing these issues.
