It also examines debates within the scientific community as a basis for evaluating policy decisions. A comprehensive review of pollution control techniques questions which technologies are currently available, their future availability, or whether they are merely theoretical. His snippets of reality feature a collection of poems spanning back over the last two decades. Certain events or emotional moments in life trigger a train of thought that needs to be expressed and that is what we poets do. We record memorable moments in words. This collection is mostly about relationships and consequences from decisions made. I also explore some philosophical, religious and ethical avenues. There are also some off-the-wall fun poems outside the realm of regular writing. Get ready for the unexpected in East of Nowhere.

Download or read book Challenged Earth An Overview Of Humanity s Stewardship Of Earth written by Stephen F Lincoln and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2006-01-11 with total page 549 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This timely book provides a comprehensive insight into the challenges facing humanity and Earth in the 21st century. It opens with a discussion of the domination of all the continents and oceans by a growing human population. This is followed by an appraisal of the extent to which water and food supplies will be able to accommodate this population, which may reach eleven billion by 2100. The rapidly increasing ability to change biology and evolution through genomics is considered next and complements a discussion of disease, which is viewed largely as an evolutionary struggle between humanity and pathogens. A seemingly insatiable demand for energy, future energy supplies and the impact of their use on climate and attempts to ameliorate these effects are next examined. The book concludes with a discussion of the partial destruction of the ozone layer and the international effort to repair the damage./a

Download or read book From Heresy to Dogma written by Andrew J. Hoffman and published by Stanford University Press. This book was released on 2001 with total page 324 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a pathbreaking account of how the environmental movement has led to profound changes in the perceptions and practices of large-scale corporations, as shown here in the chemical and petroleum industries. The book traces how market, social, and political pressures drive corporations to respond to environmental issues, analyzes the cultural frames that organizations use to come to terms with these external influences, and describes the resulting changes in organizational culture and structure. For this expanded edition, the author has written a new chapter that brings his original assessment up to date, expands and modifies the model and data used in the original edition, and offers a broad picture of the current state of corporate environmentalism and where it is going.

Download or read book Civiliesation written by Daryl Conant M. Ed. and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2015-02-23 with total page 360 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: civiLIESation: The Undeniable Truth is an in-depth look at what we are, who we are, and the ultimate purpose of our existence. The cosmos is a grand miracle, and though we dont know its origin or purpose, one thing does remain true and that is that the entire cosmos is made up of energy, the energy of creation. The Earth is a living biosphere that is a product of the atomic expansion of the universe. The Earths containment system allows for the sustainability of life. During the early stages of civilization life was reckless, barbaric, and uncontained. It would take thousands of years for the primitive energy to evolve into a sophisticated, civilized energy. One of the key factors for a shift in human behavior was through the conception of ego energy. The ego would be responsible for the governing power of civilization known as The Mass of Collective Energy. CiviLIESation explores illusionary perceptions, projections, and reflections of the ego. CiviLIESation is a presentation of conscious awareness.
