Download or read book El Pensamiento Del Apostol Pablo written by Herman Ridderbos and published by . This book was released on 2000-04-01 with total page 780 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In constant dialogue with diverse traditions, and by way of a serious and detailed exegesis, Herman Ridderbos reveals for us the treasures found in Paul's writings. In a manner unsurpassed by other books, this book explores themes such as the nature of sin, justification, reconciliation, and the new life in Christ. The ethical byproducts of living in Christ are fully explored. The doctrines of the Church, baptism, the Lord's Supper, and the end of times are explained in detail. But above all else, Paul's message is interpreted as the explanation of the meaning of the eschatological time of salvation inaugurated by the incarnation, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Download or read book Pablo y Cristo La centralidad de Cristo en el pensamiento de San Pablo written by Luis Sánchez Navarro and published by Ediciones San Dámaso. This book was released on 2009-09-07 with total page 284 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Para m vivir es Cristo written by Federico Pastor Ramos and published by Editorial Verbo Divino. This book was released on 2011-02-01 with total page 596 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Decolonizing Constitutionalism

Download or read book Decolonizing Constitutionalism written by Boaventura de Sousa Santos and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2023-07-31 with total page 355 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The modern state, law, and constitution result from a legal canon that (re)produces the abyssal lines dividing the world that is validated from the world whose humanity and epistemological validity are denied. This book aims to contribute to a post-abyssal reflection on law and constitutionalism by considering the structural axes of power that are constitutive of modern law “capitalism, colonialism, and heteropatriarchy” alongside the legal plurality of the world. Is it possible to decolonize, decommodify, and depatriarchalize the constitution? The authors speak from multiple geographies, raise different questions, resort to differentiated theoretical approaches, and reveal varying levels of optimism about the possibilities of transforming constitutions. The readers are confronted with critical perspectives on the Eurocentric legal canon, as well as with the recognition of anti-capitalist, anti-colonial, and anti-patriarchal legal experiences. The horizon of this publication is the expansion of the possibilities of legal and political imagination.

Book Slave Portraiture in the Atlantic World

Download or read book Slave Portraiture in the Atlantic World written by Agnes Lugo-Ortiz and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2013-09-30 with total page 489 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Slave Portraiture in the Atlantic World is the first book to focus on the individualized portrayal of enslaved people from the time of Europe's full engagement with plantation slavery in the late sixteenth century to its final official abolition in Brazil in 1888. While this period saw the emergence of portraiture as a major field of representation in Western art, 'slave' and 'portraiture' as categories appear to be mutually exclusive. On the one hand, the logic of chattel slavery sought to render the slave's body as an instrument for production, as the site of a non-subject. Portraiture, on the contrary, privileged the face as the primary visual matrix for the representation of a distinct individuality. Essays address this apparent paradox of 'slave portraits' from a variety of interdisciplinary perspectives, probing the historical conditions that made the creation of such rare and enigmatic objects possible and exploring their implications for a more complex understanding of power relations under slavery.

Leon Lederman embraces this spirit of inquiry as he moves from the Greeks' earliest scientific observations to Einstein and beyond to chart this unique arm of scientific study. His survey concludes with the Higgs boson, nicknamed the God Particle, which scientists hypothesize will help unlock the last secrets of the subatomic universe, quarks and all--it's the dogged pursuit of this almost mystical entity that inspires Lederman's witty and accessible history.
