Docteur d'État en sciences humaines, Michel Personne est professeur associé à l'université de Tours, formateur sur le plan national et international. Il est l'auteur de plusieurs ouvrages de référence en gérontologie. Richard Vercauteren est sociologue, gérontologue, spécialisé dans l'analyse institutionnelle des établissements sanitaires et sociaux. Book excerpt: Les personnes âgées désorientées, ayant aujourd’hui un réseau de solidarités familiales plus fragilisé qu’auparavant, ont de plus en plus recours à des Services d’Aide et d’Accompagnement à Domicile (SAAD). Ces services, pouvant avoir différents statuts juridiques, ont pour mission de favoriser le maintien au domicile d’une personne âgée désorientée et de faciliter le maintien de ses activités sociales. Dans ce travail, l’exemple de l’ssociation ASSAD Rives de la Loire et du Cher sera présenté. Concrètement, l’aide à domicile peut aider à la toilette, entretenir le logement, faire les courses. Ces services peuvent être financés par l’APA, après évaluation de la dépendance de la personne âgée désorientée par la grille AGGIR, et entrent dans le plan d’aide individualisé de la personne. Dans un souci de qualité de la prise en charge de la personne désorientée, la coordination de la prise en charge est primordiale. Le plan Alzheimer 2008-2012 comporte plusieurs mesures destinées à une meilleure coordination. Celle-ci se fait par des échanges entre les différents acteurs de l’ action sociale notamment par le biais de la coordination gérontologique. De plus, l’information aux malades et à leurs proches doit être favorisée. L’instauration des CLIC et plus récemment des MATA vont en ce sens.

The idea to organize a conference on land battle systemmodelswas first suggested to me in 1g72 by Andreas Mortensen, then a member of the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment and presently at the SHAPE Technical Centre, when we discussed the apparent inconsistencies of various evaluations of force capability within NATO. Frequently, decision makers are confronted by contradictory results of different studies addressing essentially the same problern leaving them with the impression that the tools of systems analysis and operations research may not be very objective guides. However, experienced systems researchers know that a detailed comparison of models, their assumptions and inputs, would generally show that results are not really contradictory. But not only seem the decision processes in large national and international organizations tobe suchthat a comparison can hardly ever be accomplished, also the docu mentation available is rarely sufficient to really camprehend the differences in results. For these reasons, we felt that an effort to review the state of the art of model ing in support of force capabil ity assessments was overdue.
