Book excerpt: This is a story of faith. I'll use my Journey during medical crisis within these pages and for everyone who is in doubt about their faith; I hope this will shake them into to knowing that "Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1. I can only hope that the reader will grab from this experience that it is faith that I clanged too. So God gets the total victory. Several years ago, God blessed me to write "Hearing God Over all the Madness: Trusting God for Everything". That was a period in which my life was hearing from God, not in a sense of hearing voices but hearing through his word and actions of people and things situated around me. Since that time I have found myself in a struggle of some sort. I thank God for allowing me the opportunity to meet people every day and to learn from such meetings. I have truly learned that no matter what your situation is one must keep the faith. Without it, there is no way you will survive. My faith abounds because I have faith that all I do that is good, Faith doth abound. From making personalized cards to a Scrapbook DVD. I know that God gives me faith to be creative and produce a product of excellence. Faith Without work is dead." Now I am about to embark on a journey I never dreamed I'd be in. Truly my faith abound as I hear God over this madness...Cancer!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Las Vegas has long been characterized as "Sin City." It is a common assumption of many outsiders that Las Vegas is a spiritual wasteland, devoid of any significant religious community and bereft of traditional values. This is most certainly not the case! In fact, Las Vegas has a strong, healthy, and growing religious dimension. Within this milieu is a strong and rapidly expanding Pentecostal dimension to the city's profile of faith. The Pentecostals in Las Vegas are a microcosm of Pentecostalism both nationally and globally. On the whole, this expression of Christian faith is certainly among the fastest growing religions in the world. Some sociologists and demographics experts identify Evangelicals and Pentecostals as the emerging religious majority in America's future. Most mainstream denominations are in decline, but Pentecostals continue to grow both in numbers and influence. This book will explore and analyze several local Pentecostal congregations and the dynamic relationship between the church and the "Strip." It will focus on the interplay between one of America's most devout religious subcultures and one its most secular cities.

Download or read book Where Sin Abounds written by Robert R. Gonzales and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2010-01-01 with total page 310 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nearly all scholars divide Genesis into primeval and patriarchal history, though they debate the precise point of division. One reason advanced to justify the division is a thematic shift. In primeval history, the narrator focuses on the origin and spread of sin, as well as God's consequent curse and judgment on humanity. In patriarchal history, however, the spread of sin theme falls off the radar of most scholars. But these analyses of the primeval and patriarchal narratives are simplistic and inaccurate. In fact, the theme of human sin and the divine curse not only serve as the main themes of the Fall narrative, but they also continue to function as major themes in both the primeval and patriarchal narratives that follow. More particularly, human sin appears to increase at both individual and societal levels. Moreover, just as the primordial sin threatened to derail the advance of God's kingdom and fulfillment of the creation mandate, so the spread of human sin in postlapsarian history threatens to thwart God's redemptive plan, which consists in the restoration of his original creational intentions for divine and human eschatological fullness. This proves true even in the patriarchal narratives where the sins of God's chosen often threaten the very promise intended for their ultimate good. These facts, which the author attempts to demonstrate in the monograph, not only have important ramifications for the unity of the Genesis corpus, but they also have important implications for the doctrines of sin, justification, and sanctification.

So why is she left with indefinable feelings that something is left unfinished? In search of answers, Lou Ellen must journey back into her past, reliving memories from her childhood and beyond. What she vividly recalls is alternately poignant, humorous, sweet, and painful. Life wasn't always easy. As a girl, she had to overcome poverty, constant rejection, loneliness, and criticism. She learned to succeed through hard work and bore responsibility that was well beyond her years. But against all odds, she met the challenges life presented. Through her faith and hope, she grew to become motivated, happy, and blessed with a love that defies explanation. As she sifts through the events that have shaped her life and the woman she has become, Lou Ellen looks for the key to her contentment, finding that When Love Abounds, there's always hope for the future. 'Ms. Robinson has penned a novel that is both heartwarming and filled with faith. Through Lou Ellen's journey of self-discovery, she offers hope and insight that can benefit us all!' —Cindy Kelley, screenwriter for The Velveteen Rabbit and Love Comes Softly, co-author of The Silent Gift

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since it was legalized in 1973, there have been more than 50 million abortions in America. Silence surrounds many of those women who chose abortion. They didnt anticipate the aftermath of regret, guilt, shame, anger and self-condemnation that often follow an abortion. Even years later a woman may deny its impact: * It happened so long ago, how could it be affecting me now? * Oh, I worked through it then and Im fine. * Whats the point of rehashing something from the past? But, if you still struggle with negative thoughts and emotions, or you feel stuck spiritually, it may be that God is nudging you to revisit your abortion experience. Mercy Triumphs, Grace Abounds is a 10 week inductive Bible study, designed to help post-abortive women interact with and experience Gods love and forgiveness. As its name suggests, the study highlights Gods mercy and grace and can be used individually or within a group setting. Along with Scripture verses and questions, there are nine hope-giving testimonies in their own words from post-abortive women to showcase Gods power and willingness to heal and restore any woman.
