Book A Tabby s Take on Life

Download or read book A Tabby s Take on Life written by Jorge C Lucero and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2023-07-21 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Within these pages, a tabby cat named Nina imparts profound life lessons from her feline perspective. We journey through the teachings Nina revealed to her beloved human companion over years of devoted observation - the importance of being present, embracing play, connecting with others, prioritizing rest, staying curious, and finding comfort in routines. Nina resides in an apartment in the heart of Brazil. From her sun-filled perch on the balcony observing neighborhood birds to adventures exploring the sights and sounds of the local parks, Nina fully inhabits each moment. She doesn't dwell on the past or future, but embraces the present. Her human began noticing the wisdom inherent in Nina's daily activities and rituals. Though Nina spoke in purrs rather than words, her mindful engagement with life spoke volumes about savoring the little delights each day offers. A fly buzzing around her dinner hardly breaks Nina's zen-like focus. A paper ball transformed into a lively game kindles her inner kitten. Showing affection to her feline friend and human reveals her understanding of companionship's comfort. Nina takes cue from her catnapping capabilities - sometimes dozing all morning in a pool of sunlight without stirring - that rest renews body and soul. Her endless curiosity uncovers joys in the mundane, whether inspecting a new plant or bird watching on her balcony view. Routines like greeting her human at the door each evening provide order amidst life's chaos. As we absorb this tabby's feline philosophies on living with wonder, gratitude and presence, we are invited to infuse our human lives with more joy, empathy, and meaning. For devoted cat lovers, and those whose lives have yet to be graced by these philosophical felines, Nina's story provides gentle inspiration to embrace the fullness of each moment before it slips away.

Book O Winston Link Life Along the Line

Download or read book O Winston Link Life Along the Line written by Tony Reevy and published by ABRAMS. This book was released on 2013-07-15 with total page 793 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The renowned photographer’s stirring tribute to the last steam locomotive railway and the end of an American way of life. O. Winston Link photographed the Norfolk and Western, the last major steam railroad in the United States, when it was converting its operations from steam to diesel in the 1950s. Link’s N&W project captured the industry at a moment of transition, before the triumph of the automobile and the airplane that ended an era of passenger rail service. His work also revealed a small-town way of life that was about to experience seismic shifts and, in many cases, vanish completely. Including a collection of more than 180 of Link’s most famous works and rare images that have never before been published, O. Winston Link: Life Along the Line offers a moving account of the people and communities surrounding the last steam railroad.

Book 169 Pages of My Life

Download or read book 169 Pages of My Life written by Taylor Goetz and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2011-08-12 with total page 169 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: My name is Taylor, and I wrote this book with the intent that it might help people understand the consequences of doing wrong. Though it may sound that I am glorifying the things I did, if I had the chance to change my life I would have. Though I love where my life is today, there were times I wished I weren't alive. It took a lot more then what can be imagined to get over the life style I was living. I am proof that a bad kid can turn them selves around. If you think that in the end of this book that I haven't, then you are wrong and can look forward to reading my next book. The most important thing I was trying to get across is that every little thing in life including people can be very deceiving and to stick only to what you believe in and nothing else. In the end nothing and I mean nothing will matter except that your heart be in the right place.

Book Practice Power and Forms of Life

Download or read book Practice Power and Forms of Life written by Terry Pinkard and published by University of Chicago Press. This book was released on 2022-02-15 with total page 181 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "In Practice, Power, and Forms of Life, philosopher Terry Pinkard interprets Sartre's late work as a fundamental reworking of his earlier work, especially in terms of his understanding of the possibility of communal action as genuinely free, which the French philosopher had previously argued was impossible. Pinkard shows how Sartre figured in contemporary debates about the use of the first-person and how this informed his theory of action. Pinkard reveals how Sartre was led back to Hegel, which itself was spurred on by his newfound interest in Marxism in the 1950s. Pinkard also argues that Sartre took up Heidegger's critique of existentialism, developing a new post-Marxist theory of the way actors exhibit the class relations of their form of life in their actions, and showing how genuine freedom is present only in certain types of "we" relationships. Pinkard argues that Sartre constructed a novel position on freedom that has yet to be adequately taken up and thought through in philosophy and political theory. Through Sartre, Pinkard advances an argument that contributes to the history of philosophy as well as contemporary and future debates on action and freedom"--
