Download or read book The Madam s Escorts written by D. E. Z. Butler and published by DIAN BUTLER. This book was released on 2008-06-27 with total page 320 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The girls wanted to survive and live a fantasy that most women think of but never try. The forbidden frolic and the long walk to Satan's door and back again. This is about escorts who knocked upon that door and entered to lose their very souls to the money they made. There were those men and women that seemed to have the keys to Satan's many rooms. While other women made the journey that their various preachers told them they should never think about, and with soul still intact fell back into religion to preach the evils of the sin to which they had been exposed. Almost all of these women broke the cardinal rule of having sex without the piece of paper binding them to one man and only one man. The Harlots of San Francisco was who they were. For me they were my Professional Escorts. They were all part of the new Barbary Coast, the new public bounty of flesh for money trade abounding all through the last twenty years of the Twentieth Century.
Download or read book Madam President Revised Edition written by Eleanor Clift and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2016-05-06 with total page 374 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The first Madam President will be sworn in sooner than most people think. But the gender gap in politics is still shockingly broad, say two of America's most readable political commentators in this timely look at the nation's sputtering efforts to envision a woman in America's top job.(The Boston Globe ). Charting the transformation of women's power in American politics from the first female presidential candidate (Victoria Woodhull in 1872) to the shattered presidential hopes of Shirley Chisholm and Elizabeth Dole, Madam President presents tales of passion, determination, set-backs, and triumph from nearly all national women politicians and most leading state politicians in the pipeline. With insight garnered from years on the Washington political scene and candid interviews with leading politicians like Christine Todd Whitman and Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, Clift and Brazaitis explain why the barriers to women are still formidable: There are only 3 female governors (one of the best routes to the White House) and at the current rate it will take 250 years before there are as many women Senators and Representatives as men. A forward-looking, savvy analysis of women in politics, Madam President gives the first inside look at how America's female politicians got there, stayed there, and what it will take for them to make it to the presidency.

This book was released on 2017-02-09 with total page 196 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This carefully crafted ebook: "TILL THE LAST BREATH – The Incredible True Story of Louis Hughes & Jacob D. Green's Attempts to Break Free” is formatted for your eReader with a functional and detailed table of contents. "The institution of human slavery, as it existed in this country, has long been dead; and, happily for all the sacred interests which it assailed, there is for it no resurrection. It may, therefore, be asked to what purpose is the story which follows, of the experiences of one person under that dead and accursed institution?..." (Thirty Years a Slave) "Thirty Years a Slave" gives a glimpse the pitiable conditions of slaves, their inhuman treatment by their owners, the politics of slave markets and their complex relationships with the white population. In this book the author Louis Hughes dwells upon the intimate aspects of his own life like the painful separation with his mother and his marriage, his personal tragedies and his attempts of running away from the bondage of slavery. "Narrative of the Life of J.D. Green, A Runaway Slave” is another remarkable autobiography by Jacob D. Green which dwells on his three prominent attempts to escape in 1839, 1846, and 1848 and his perseverance in the face of failures. Louis Hughes was born on a Virginian Plantation to a mixed race parents with a Black slave mother and sold in Richmond slave market in 1844. While still in slavery he learnt about medicines from his master and helped his fellow slaves. After emancipation Hughes became a successful businessman in Wisconsin and wrote his autobiography. Jacob D. Green was born into slavery with 113 other slaves on a plantation in Kentucky with only his mother as family. Green did many "awful" things like seeking a murderous revenge from a man who thrashed him and making daring choices that would eventually lead to his freedom.
