Download or read book Redneck Shaman written by William Wallace and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2012-02-25 with total page 340 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a basic course in developing shamanic awareness. Ideas were developed from over 250 books, and from ideas used mainly by Ulster Scot and Scots-Irish spiritual people in the U.S. The redneck tradition welcomes all, and is generally egalitarian, just as it was in its Celtic costume. Celts, along with Native Americans, are reclaiming their spiritual roots. This book was designed to help people get back to being indigenous, to being rooted in the deeper parts of mind. Ultimately, we are all indigenous, and this book was written in service to all. The creator put fun on this earth to help mark out correction solutions. This book is about having fun, and playing with energy patterns, with the light and information that make up the Universe. This book is very similar to Dowsing and Manifesting, and The Key to the Secret, because the three authors differed on what the final product should look like, so they each went their own way.

Book excerpt: About the Book Amusing, entertaining, thought provoking, and often touching stories of one family's rather unusual life that pushes the belief that there really are miracles that form our lives, and that things do happen for a reason. Miracles and how they form our lives. That is what is questioned, and what is ultimately presented to you to answer for yourself. The evidence for this argument is the foundation for this family of 15. From the roots of being "childhood sweethearts", to a family tree that includes three biological and ten adopted children (all of various ethnic backgrounds), you follow the unmistakable trails of what can only be described as miracles. Life is not always easy, as struggles and disappointments are often faced, but they are done so with a gathered knowledge that miracles happen everyday, and are more often than not, done so without fanfare or announcement. The author really tells many stories within a story, making you wonder if we are really are alone. The book is written in a comfortable "bluejeans" point of view, and can be read from many different perspectives. All the stories are ultimately threaded together with the belief that everything happens for a reason.

Book The Rise and Decline of the Redneck Riviera

Download or read book The Rise and Decline of the Redneck Riviera written by Harvey H. Jackson and published by University of Georgia Press. This book was released on 2013-03-01 with total page 346 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Rise and Decline of the Redneck Riviera traces the development of the Florida-Alabama coast as a tourist destination from the late 1920s and early 1930s, when it was sparsely populated with "small fishing villages," through to the tragic and devastating BP/Deepwater Horizon oil spill of 2010. Harvey H. Jackson III focuses on the stretch of coast from Mobile Bay and Gulf Shores, Alabama, east to Panama City, Florida--an area known as the "Redneck Riviera." Jackson explores the rise of this area as a vacation destination for the lower South's middle- and working-class families following World War II, the building boom of the 1950s and 1960s, and the emergence of the Spring Break "season." From the late sixties through 1979, severe hurricanes destroyed many small motels, cafes, bars, and early cottages that gave the small beach towns their essential character. A second building boom ensued in the 1980s dominated by high-rise condominiums and large resort hotels. Jackson traces the tensions surrounding the gentrification of the late 1980s and 1990s and the collapse of the housing market in 2008. While his major focus is on the social, cultural, and economic development, he also documents the environmental and financial impacts of natural disasters and the politics of beach access and dune and sea turtle protection. The Rise and Decline of the Redneck Riviera is the culmination of sixteen years of research drawn from local newspapers, interviews, documentaries, community histories, and several scholarly studies that have addressed parts of this region's history. From his 1950s-built family vacation cottage in Seagrove Beach, Florida, and on frequent trips to the Alabama coast, Jackson witnessed the changes that have come to the area and has recorded them in a personal, in-depth look at the history and culture of the coast. Book Alfa Romeo 1300 and Other Miracles

Download or read book Alfa Romeo 1300 and Other Miracles written by Fabio Bartolomei and published by Europa Editions. This book was released on 2012-10-30 with total page 322 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A raucous debut novel of organized—and unorganized—crime. “A story that takes itself unseriously enough to be funny” (The Daily Beast, “This Week’s Hot Reads”). Diego is a forty-something car salesman with a talent for telling half-truths. Fausto sells watches over the phone. Claudio manages (barely) his family-owned neighborhood supermarket. The characteristic common to each of these three men is their abject mediocrity. Yet, mediocrity being the mother of outrageous invention, they embark on a project that would be too ambitious in scope for any single one of them, let alone all three together. They decide to flee the city and to open a rustic holiday farmhouse in the Italian countryside outside Naples. Their misconceived endeavor would have been challenging enough for these three unlikely entrepreneurs, but when a local mobster arrives and demands they pay him protection money, things go from bad to worse. Now their ordinary (if wrongheaded) attempt to run a small business in an area that organized crime syndicates consider their own becomes a quixotic act of defiance. A “miraculous” Italian comedy that will have readers laughing out loud, Alfa Romeo 1300 and Other Miracles marks Fabio Bartolomei’s vivid debut. “An entertaining and humorous debut.” —La Repubblica “A melancholy yet hopeful fable told with a smile.” —Internazionale “Left the kind of smile on my face that doesn’t go unnoticed and which people often mistake for a kind of facial paralysis.” —Valentina Aversano, Setteperuno

Book Florida s Miracle Strip

  • Author : Tim Hollis

  • Release : 2010-01-06
  • ISBN : 9781604736205
  • Pages : 217 pages

Download or read book Florida s Miracle Strip written by Tim Hollis and published by Univ. Press of Mississippi. This book was released on 2010-01-06 with total page 217 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since World War II, tourists have flocked to Florida's northwest Gulf Coast and sun and fun spots at Panama City Beach, Fort Walton Beach, and Pensacola Beach. Every year those visitors number in the millions. For those who long to recall how the vacationland appeared thirty, forty, or even fifty years ago, Tim Hollis has written Florida's Miracle Strip: From Redneck Riviera to Emerald Coast. In a style that informs and entertains, Hollis describes the rise of early developments, such as Long Beach Resort, and major tourist attractions, such as the Gulfarium and the Miracle Strip Amusement Park. With heartfelt nostalgia and a dose of tongue-in-cheek, he reminisces on the motels and tourist cottages; the restaurants, such as Captain Anderson's and Staff's; the elaborate miniature golf courses, such as Goofy Golf and its many imitators. He takes a special delight in recovering the memories of those quirky businesses that now exist only in faded photographs and aging postcards, such wacky tourist traps as Castle Dracula, Petticoat Junction, Tombstone Territory, and the Snake-A-Torium. In the book, Hollis examines how this area became known as the "Miracle Strip," and how the local chambers of commerce got so tired of that image that the name gradually fell into disuse. The book is illustrated with a profusion of vintage photos and advertisements, most of which have not been seen in print since their original appearances. For the nostalgia lover, the snowbird, the tourist seeking yesteryear, Florida's Miracle Strip: From Redneck Riviera to Emerald Coast will be a welcome traveling companion.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A hands-on approach to working with the healing powers of plant spirits • Explores the scientific basis underlying the practices of indigenous healers and shamans • Illuminates the matrix where plant intelligence and human intelligence join • Reveals that partnering with plants is an evolutionary imperative Indigenous healers and shamans have known since antiquity that plants possess a spirit essence that can communicate through light, sound, and vibration. Now scientific studies are verifying this understanding. Plant Spirit Healing reveals the power of plant spirits to join with human intelligence to bring about profound healing. These spirits take us beyond mere symptomatic treatment to aligning us with the vast web of nature. Plants are more than their chemical constituents. They are intelligent beings that have the capacity to raise consciousness to a level where true healing can take place. In this book, herbalist Pam Montgomery offers an understanding of the origins of disease and the therapeutic use of plant spirits to bring balance and healing. She offers a process engaging heart, soul, and spirit that she calls the triple spiral path. In our modern existence, we are increasingly challenged with broken hearts, souls in exile, and malnourished spirits. By working through the heart, we connect with the soul and gain access to spirit. She explains that the evolution of plants has always preceded their animal counterparts and that plant spirits offer a guide to our spiritual evolution--a stage of growth imperative not only for the healing of humans but also the healing of the earth.
