[...] The following are the project's core objectives: 1) To describe the types of Aboriginal involvement in the Canadian forest industry; 2) To describe the trends of Aboriginal involvement in the number and types of initiatives; 3) To evaluate training and mentoring success; and, 4) To assess trends in education and employment levels attained by Aboriginal staff. [...] The next set of tables and figures present a snapshot of training and mentoring of Aboriginal employees and contractors in the forest sector. [...] The number of total employees across all sectors showed the same trend: the higher the level of seniority, the fewer the number of Aboriginal employees - although this is seen across other industries as well for many demographic groups.
