Book A New Look at the Prophecies of Daniel

Download or read book A New Look at the Prophecies of Daniel written by Steven Ortlepp and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2010-01-08 with total page 290 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Daniel's Prophecies: The Next Level. Popular singer-songwriter, James Blunt, encourages: "You've got to ask yourself the question: 'Where are you now?'" This one can ask of the human race as a whole. Following a completely different exegetical approach to the prophecies of Daniel, this author attempts to answer this very question. A definition of prophecy is "history written in advance". However, an angel ordered Daniel to seal the book until the end time. Many will rove about and the true knowledge will become abundant. He added that no wicked one will understand, but that the ones having insight, will understand (cf. Dan. 12:4, 9, 10). Wicked ones have no future in God's "new earth", so one ignores these prophecies at your peril (cf. Ps. 37:38; Prov. 2:21, 22; 2 Pet. 3:13). This monograph concentrates on Dan. 11:40-45. The new edition includes a Concise Messianic Timeline and a Quick Reference Guide for quick and easy reference.

Book Breakthrough Analysis of Daniel s Prophecies

Download or read book Breakthrough Analysis of Daniel s Prophecies written by R. Allan Dermott and published by Balboa Press. This book was released on 2023-04-16 with total page 423 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Have you ever thought about the possible relevance of Bible prophecies to our lives today? In this book, you will find new perspectives to consider on the prophecies of Daniel and related history. These viewpoints may lead to seeing our world in a different light. Stepping away from preconceived ideas about prophecies, in general, and Daniel’s visions, in particular, give new perspective based on decades of study, prayer and insightful contemplation. Compelling insights bring to light precisely how these prophetic dates are interrelated, how they have significant meaning, and may have implications for our lives today. Even though the Biblical book of Daniel was written millennia ago, interest in its meaning for faith and the heart remain. A broader perspective and the lens of history brings additional context and reconsideration to earlier interpretations. Without these perspectives, some tended to have been taken piecemeal, out of context, or viewed without an understanding of the role of each element in their interrelation to the whole. This book reexamines many of these and more, and, based upon a review of literature, no book is found that matches the comprehensive nature regarding each of Daniel’s nine prophetic spans. Dr. Dermott brings out the meanings behind each date, and he correlates Biblical authorities with each other and with further compelling and original research. The narrative invites you to join this exciting journey and experience the exceptionally detailed unfoldment from each beginning prophetic date to its undeniable fulfillment in history.

Book In The Days of These Kings The Book of Daniel in Preterist Perspective

Download or read book In The Days of These Kings The Book of Daniel in Preterist Perspective written by Jay Rogers and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2019-01-17 with total page 742 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever" (Daniel 2:44). The message of Daniel is that Jesus the Messiah is now ruling over the nations. Daniel tells us that Messiah's kingdom will advance in the whole world from "generation to generation" (Daniel 4:4,34). Christ's dominion is "given to the people of the saints of the most High" (Daniel 7:22). Our purpose then is to see "all people, nations, and languages serve and obey him" (Daniel 7:14,27). "This meticulously researched and thorough treatment of Daniel from a preterist perspective includes over 700 pages of commentary, historical background and setting, New Testament allusions, and much more. It is enhanced with charts, tables, maps, illustrations, and topped off with helpful, thorough indexes." - Kenneth L. Gentry, Jr., Th.D.

Book The Prophecy of Daniel in Preterist Perspective

Download or read book The Prophecy of Daniel in Preterist Perspective written by Jay Rogers and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2021-03-19 with total page 138 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The great expositor of Scripture, John Calvin, once exclaimed in exasperation about the numerous speculations on controversial passages in the Book of Daniel, such as the identity of the "Little Horn" of chapter 7. Calvin preached, "They are all wrong." This book provides a preterist view of Daniel that is in harmony with other parallel passages in Scripture, such as Zechariah 14, Matthew 24 and Revelation. Areas of agreement among conservatives are summarized. Special attention is then paid to so-called "hard parts" in which the majority of commentators, in the words of Calvin, are "utterly at sea." From a preterist perspective, each of these (Daniel 2:44,45; 7; 9:26,27; 11:36-45; 12:1-13) deal with the Roman period, the Fourth Kingdom of Daniel 2 and 7 that dominated Judea from 63 BC to AD 70. The preterist view of Daniel as presented by Calvin, and others as early as Clement of Alexandria in AD 180, is the most consistent interpretation. "R.J. Rushdoony once said there are four things liberals hate about Daniel: (1). Daniel displays a sovereign God who cannot be manipulated and who destroys all who rebel against His Law-Word, including civic rulers. (2). It showcases predictive prophecy that is infallible and sure. (3). It illustrates a comprehensive Providence that governs even the tiniest details of life and history. (4). It unapologetically presents the reality of miracles. "You can judge an author by their attitude towards those four things in Daniel. Based on that criteria, Jay Rogers stands head and shoulders above a crowd of commentaries on this book. He takes the inerrancy of Scripture and hermeneutics seriously, submits to the New Testament's interpretation of Daniel, illustrates his interpretations quite well with history, and shows how Daniel dovetails with the rest of Scripture." - Phillip Kayser, Biblical Blueprints

Book excerpt: Daniel Revisited makes the case that the ancient book of Daniel reveals four specific events to occur in the Middle East in the end times prior to the Tribulation. This new look at old assumptions about prophecy and plain reading of Scripture combines a comprehensive study of relevant history with the fresh perspective of today’s current events. Not only does it show that the Antichrist will be Muslim, it also identifies four events the author calls Signposts which will occur in a series leading right up to the Tribulation. The first event involving Iraq has already occurred. The second of the four events will be the invasion of the whole Middle East by Iran. The fourth event will witness the Antichrist's emergence.

Book Rapture

  • Author : David Currie
  • Publisher : Sophia Institute Press

Download or read book Rapture written by David Currie and published by Sophia Institute Press. This book was released on 2003-07-31 with total page 513 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The end-times error that leaves the Bible behind! Author David Currie grew up convinced that one day all true Christians will suddenly be snatched up to heaven. The unfortunate souls left behind by this "rapture" will endure seven horrible years of tribulation, at the end of which Christ will return to earth for a glorious thousand-year reign. Today, millions of Christians accept this end-times theology, assuming - as Currie did -- that the Bible clearly teaches it. Many plan their whole lives around it. But, after studying Scripture for decades, Currie has come to see that if you accept the Bible, you have to reject the rapture. In these remarkable pages - which constitute the world's most careful and thorough scriptural study of the rapture - Currie demonstrates why. He considers all the relevant verses (and there are hundreds!) and examines them in the light of ancient history, the writings of the earliest Christians, and the claims of rapturist theologians. With painstaking thoroughness, he unlocks the meanings of the key biblical prophecies that culminate in Christ's Messianic Kingdom - including those verses in Daniel, Matthew, and Revelation that rapturists turn to most. Marshalling evidence that's as startling as it is compelling, Currie argues that these prophecies of war and tribulation don't point to some still-unrealized apocalyptic future. Rather, most of them were fulfilled long ago: the spiritual, priestly Kingdom prefigured in the Old Testament was inaugurated on Calvary, consummated in 70 A.D. with the destruction of the Temple, and continues to exist today . . . in the Catholic Church! That may surprise you. Yet, shows Currie, it's the only conclusion that fits all the scriptural and historical evidence. Rapture: The End-Times Error That Leaves the Bible Behind makes Scripture, prophecy, and history come alive; and it demonstrates that if you open your Bible, you'll find that God's plan for the future of the world is not filled with darkness and disaster, but with light, mercy, and hope. "We can all learn much from David Currie, not only from what he says, which is wise, but from how he says it, which is Catholic and Christian." From the Foreword by Scott Hahn. Special features: Over 1,300 references to Scripture, the early Church Fathers, authors and events in ancient history, and contemporary rapturist theologians Ten detailed timelines relating biblical prophecy to key historical events The biblical case for the rapture (showing why so many accept it) A survey of the thoughts of the early Church Fathers about the end-times A history of the development of rapturist theories, showing how this heresy has been refuted time and again by the Church A short course in the proper methods of reading Scripture A survey of end-times hypotheses from the first century through 9/11/2001 Nine ground rules you must follow if you are to make sense of biblical prophecy and relate it to salvation history A 10-page annotated bibliography of rapturist sources ancient and new Plus, much more to help you understand and evaluate the claims of rapturists Among the sources cited: Julius Africanus • St. Athanasius • St. Augustine • Pope Benedict XV • Andreas of Cappadocia • St. Clement of Alexandria • G. Book Observations upon the Prophecies of Daniel and the Apocalypse of St John

Download or read book Observations upon the Prophecies of Daniel and the Apocalypse of St John written by Sir Isaac Newton and published by Library of Alexandria. This book was released on 2020-09-28 with total page 264 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When Manasses set up a carved image in the house of the Lord, and built altars in the two courts of the house, to all the host of Heaven, and us'd inchantments and witchcraft, and familiar spirits, and for his great wickedness was invaded by the army ofAsserhadon King of Assyria, and carried captive to Babylon; the book of the Law was lost till the eighteenth year of his grandsonJosiah. Then Hilkiah the High Priest, upon repairing the Temple, found it there: and the King lamented that their fathers had not done after the words of the book, and commanded that it should be read to the people, and caused the people to renew the holy covenant with God. This is the book of the Law now extant. When Shishak came out of Egypt and spoil'd the temple, and brought Judah into subjection to the monarchy of Egypt, (which was in the fifth year of Rehoboam) the Jews continued under great troubles for about twenty years; being without the true God, and without a teaching Priest, and without Law: and in those times there was no peace to him that went out, nor to him that came in, but great vexations were upon all the inhabitants of the countries, and nation was destroyed of nation, and city of city, for God did vex them with all adversity. But when Shishak was dead, and Egypt fell into troubles, Judah had quiet ten years; and in that time Asabuilt fenced cities in Judah, and got up an army of 580000 men, with which, in the 15th year of his reign, he met and overcameZerah the Ethiopian, who had conquered Egypt and Lybia, and Troglodytica, and came out with an army of 1000000 Lybians andEthiopians, to recover the countries conquered by Sesac. And after this victory Asa dethroned his mother for idolatry, and he renewed the Altar, and brought new vessels of gold and silver into the Temple; and he and the people entered into a new covenant to seek the Lord God of their fathers, upon pain of death to those who worshiped other Gods; and his son Jehosaphat took away the high places, and in the third year of his reign sent some of his Princes, and of the Priests and Levites, to teach in the cities of Judah: and they had the book of the Law with them, and went about throughout all the cities of Judah, and taught the people. This is that book of the Law which was afterwards lost in the reign of Manasses, and found again in the reign of Josiah, and therefore it was written before the third year of Jehosaphat. The same book of the Law was preserved and handed down to posterity by the Samaritans, and therefore was received by the ten Tribes before their captivity. For when the ten Tribes were captivated, a Priest or the captivity was sent back to Bethel, by order of the King of Assyria, to instruct the new inhabitants of Samaria, in the manner of the God of the land; and the Samaritans had thePentateuch from this Priest, as containing the law or manner of the God of the land, which he was to teach them. For they persevered in the religion which he taught them, joining with it the worship of their own Gods; and by persevering in what they had been taught, they preserved this book of their Law in the original character of the Hebrews, while the two Tribes, after their return from Babylon, changed the character to that of the Chaldees, which they had learned at Babylon.
