Download or read book A Multi channel Radar Receiver written by Alexander W. Bishop and published by . This book was released on 1985 with total page 24 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A radar receiver design is presented that yields logarithmic and coherent signals of two orthogonal polarizations derived from each of two S-band transmitted frequencies. The radar is to be used for measuring Doppler velocity and polarization parameters of meteorological backscatter. The receiver design goals include phase and amplitude balance of 5 degrees and 0.5 dB between signals of opposite polarization. The logarithmic amplifiers are specified to have linearity of + or - 0.5 dB over a dynamic range of 90 dB. High-power ferrite switching devices are to be used to alternate the polarization of transmitted signals between orthogonal states on a pulse-to-pulse basis and to permit reception of co-polarized and cross-polarized signal components. Keywords include: Doppler weather radar; Dual frequency radar; Dual polarization radar; Multi-channel radar receiver, and Polarization diversity radar.

Download or read book Multi Antenna Synthetic Aperture Radar written by Wen-Qin Wang and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2017-07-12 with total page 468 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) is a well-known remote sensing technique, but conventional single-antenna SAR is inherently limited by the minimum antenna area constraint. Although there are still technical issues to overcome, multi-antenna SAR offers many benefits, from improved system gain to increased degrees-of-freedom and system flexibility. Multi-Antenna Synthetic Aperture Radar explores the potential and challenges of using multi-antenna SAR in microwave remote sensing applications. These applications include high-resolution imaging, wide-swath remote sensing, ground moving target indication, and 3-D imaging. The book pays particular attention to the signal processing aspects of various multi-antenna SAR from a top-level system perspective. Explore Recent Extensions of Synthetic Aperture Radar Systems The backbone of the book is a series of innovative microwave remote sensing approaches developed by the author. Centered around multi-antenna SAR imaging, these approaches address specific challenges and potential problems in future microwave remote sensing. Chapters examine single-input multiple-output (SIMO) multi-antenna SAR, including azimuth and elevation multi-antenna SAR, and multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) SAR. The book details the corresponding system scheme, signal models, time/phase/spatial synchronization methods, and high-precision imaging algorithms. It also investigates their potential applications. Introductory Tutorials and Novel Approaches in Multi-Antenna SAR Imaging Rigorous and self-contained, this is a unique reference for researchers and industry professionals working with microwave remote sensing, SAR imaging, and radar signal processing. In addition to novel approaches, the book also presents tutorials that serve as an introduction to multi-antenna SAR imaging for those who are new to the field.

Download or read book Adaptive Detection of Multichannel Signals Exploiting Persymmetry written by Jun Liu and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2022-12-20 with total page 314 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book offers a systematic presentation of persymmetric adaptive detection, including detector derivations and the definition of key concepts, followed by detailed discussion relating to theoretical underpinnings, design methodology, design considerations, and techniques enabling its practical implementation. The received data for modern radar systems are usually multichannel, namely, vector-valued, or even matrix-valued. Multichannel signal detection in Gaussian backgrounds is a fundamental problem for radar applications. With an overarching focus on persymmetric adaptive detectors, this book presents the mathematical models and design principles necessary for analyzing the behavior of each kind of persymmetric adaptive detector. Building upon that, it also introduces new design approaches and techniques that will guide engineering students as well as radar engineers toward efficient detector solutions, especially in challenging sample-starved environments where training data are limited. This book will be of interest to students, scholars, and engineers in the field of signal processing. It will be especially useful for those who have a solid background in statistical signal processing, multivariate statistical analysis, matrix theory, and mathematical analysis.

This vital introductory book is written as simply as possible to educate an increasing number of maritime users who wish to become familiar and competent with the latest technologies as well as a growing number of overseas students for whom English is not their first language. This volume provides a comprehensive study of maritime sensors and telecommunications principles and provides a firm foundation prior to reading and studying textbooks in the Reeds Marine Engineering series. Students having read this easy-to-read volume will be better prepared for the more in depth study of that series.
Download or read book Computational Noncommutative Algebra and Applications written by Jim Byrnes and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2006-01-28 with total page 435 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The fusion of algebra, analysis and geometry, and their application to real world problems, have been dominant themes underlying mathematics for over a century. Geometric algebras, introduced and classified by Clifford in the late 19th century, have played a prominent role in this effort, as seen in the mathematical work of Cartan, Brauer, Weyl, Chevelley, Atiyah, and Bott, and in applications to physics in the work of Pauli, Dirac and others. One of the most important applications of geometric algebras to geometry is to the representation of groups of Euclidean and Minkowski rotations. This aspect and its direct relation to robotics and vision will be discussed in several chapters of this multi-authored textbook, which resulted from the ASI meeting. Moreover, group theory, beginning with the work of Burnside, Frobenius and Schur, has been influenced by even more general problems. As a result, general group actions have provided the setting for powerful methods within group theory and for the use of groups in applications to physics, chemistry, molecular biology, and signal processing. These aspects, too, will be covered in detail. With the rapidly growing importance of, and ever expanding conceptual and computational demands on signal and image processing in remote sensing, computer vision, medical image processing, and biological signal processing, and on neural and quantum computing, geometric algebras, and computational group harmonic analysis, the topics of the book have emerged as key tools. The list of authors includes many of the world's leading experts in the development of new algebraic modeling and signal representation methodologies, novel Fourier-based and geometrictransforms, and computational algorithms required for realizing the potential of these new application fields. The intention of this textbook is share their profound wisdom with the many future stars of pure and computational noncommutative algebra. A key feature of both the meeting and the book will be their presentation of problems and applications that will shape the twenty-first century computational technology base.
