Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There is an ongoing battle between good and evil. The first battle was in the bible when Lucifer attempted to overthrow God and become a god himself. This resulted in him being banished from heaven along with one-third of the angels. Bring this event up to modern times and you have the story in this book. Dr. Allman, a gifted chemist and scientist and a righteous man, develops a serum that improves the mind and moral fiber of mankind and seeks to distribute it. He has a jealous employee named Lyle, who is a graduate of MIT, and also gifted in science. Lyle's goal is to overthrow Dr. Allman and take control of his laboratory in the World Trade Center during the 1970's. He accomplishes this by tainting the serum to cast a shadow of incompetence on Dr. Allman and his staff. His plan works and he becomes the President of Infinity Laboratories only to be fired when his diabolical plan is uncovered. Lyle and his ex-porn star wife sets about to start up their own lab and they join the Satanist Church. Fast-forward to 2001 when Lyle and Polly's world collapses on September 11. Next, go with Lyle through a literal hell and go with his nemesis, Emmanuel (Dr. Allman's son) in heaven. Be with them when they both are returned to earth for a final confrontation.

Download or read book The Old Man from Leftfield written by Neil McKee and published by Author House. This book was released on 2014-10-17 with total page 717 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When I was a kid in the late 1950s, while I was a student at Paoli Elementary School, I read the famous children's book that talks about the Kid from Leftfield. Also around that time, I always said to myself, "What is it going to be like in the year 2000? I'll be fifty years old!" I couldn't comprehend being that old; the thought of it scared me, and I'd probably be in a wheelchair or something worse. I bet a lot of people my age thought the same thing. This is the story of what that kid did when he reached the age of fifty.
Download or read book More Readings From One Man s Wilderness written by John Branson and published by Skyhorse. This book was released on 2012-02-07 with total page 872 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Throughout history, many people have escaped to nature either permanently or temporarily to rest and recharge. Richard L. Proenneke, a modern-day Henry David Thoreau, is no exception. Proenneke built a cabin in Twin Lakes, Alaska in 1968 and began thirty years of personal growth, which he spent growing more connected to the wilderness in which he lived. This guide through Proenneke’s memories follows the journey that began with One Man’s Wilderness, which contains some of Proenneke’s journals. It continues the story and reflections of this mountain man and his time in Alaska. The editor, John Branson, was a longtime friend of Proenneke’s and a park historian. He takes care that Proenneke’s journals from 1974-1980 are kept exactly as the author wrote them. Branson’s footnotes give a background and a new understanding to the reader without detracting from Proenneke’s style. Anyone with an interest in conservation and genuine wilderness narratives will surely enjoy and treasure this book.
