In the above connection the California Water and Forest Association requested the United States Geological Survey to make a study Of Glenn County to ascertain if suitable reservoir sites could be found on Stony Creek, so that the waters Of that stream could be put upon the higher and warmer mar ginal lands on the western side Of the Sacramento Valley. Willows is the county seat Of Glenn County, and the chamber Of commerce Of this town, through the Water and Forest Association, contributed $250 additional toward defraying the expenses Of this study.
