Also includes the birth; life; public ministry; Crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus Christ; as well as the founding of His Church. Besides describing persons; places; events and traditions in intimate detail; Anne Catherine Emmerich also sets forth the mystical significance of these visible realities.

Book The Life of Jesus Christ and Biblical Revelations Volume 1

Download or read book The Life of Jesus Christ and Biblical Revelations Volume 1 written by Bl. Anne Catherine Emmerich and published by TAN Books. This book was released on 2001-06 with total page 707 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Contains many astounding revelations that support our faith, yet are not contained in the Bible or in any other sacred literature. Includes a day-by-day account of the public life of Christ, plus a rendition of the lives of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Joseph, St. John the Baptist, St. Anne and St. Joachim, plus many ancestors of Our Lord. Describes events from the creation of the world to the Apostles' early missionary work, plus the death of the Blessed Mother. Shows that the Church founded by Jesus Christ is the Catholic Church, identical in substance, and even in many details, with the Catholic Church of our times. Says the Egyptians falsified their calendar to make their nation appear older than it was. Says that the Holy Grail of the First Mass was the same chalice used by Melchisedech in his sacrifice of bread and wine. Says St. Peter worked more miracles than any other Apostle, also that he celebrated Mass exactly as Our Lord had done. A treasure trove of information obtainable from no other source. Seems an act of God these visions were permitted and recorded.

Book The Doctrine of the Incarnation of Our Lord Jesus Christ in Its Relation to Mankind and to the Church Classic Reprint

This book was released on 2015-07-04 with total page 590 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Doctrine of the Incarnation of Our Lord Jesus Christ, in Its Relation to Mankind and to the Church The Personal Oneness of Godhead and Manhood in Christ, not less essential to 11 is office than the reality of each nature. The reality of Christ's two natures assailed in the fifth Century - His Godhead by the Nestorians - His Manhood by the Eutychians. Councils of Ephesus and Chalcedon. Error of Nestorius to deny that the Son Of Mary was truly God. By denying the distinction between nature and personality, lie excluded the possibility of an union between God and man. This union practically testified by the Holy Communion. The Hypostatical union, the real presence in one person of two distinct natures, Godhead and Manhood. The Personality of Christ lies in the former. But an intimate connexion obtains between His two natures. From which connexion comes the ennobling of humanity. Effect which one nature produced upon the other. The exaltation which Christ bestowed upon man's nature, as God, by His Incarnation, distinct from that which, as man, He procured for it by His Obedience. The exaltation of Manhood in the Incarnation limited only by the conditions of the Created nature. To omit this limitation, as done by Eutyches, entails the very same result, which was arrived at by Nestorius - the denial of a true union between God and man. For lie could not be the representative of man, if Manhood was swallowed up in Godhead. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Book Meditations on the Incarnation Passion and Death of Jesus Christ

Download or read book Meditations on the Incarnation Passion and Death of Jesus Christ written by Catharina Regina von Greiffenberg and published by . This book was released on 2009-06 with total page 366 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Read by Protestants and Catholics alike, Catharina Regina von Greiffenberg (1633–94) was the foremost German woman poet and writer in the seventeenth-century German-speaking world. Privileged by her social station and education, she published a large body of religious writings under her own name to a reception unequaled by any other German woman during her lifetime. But once the popularity of devotional writings as a genre waned, Catharina’s works went largely unread until scholars devoted renewed attention to them in the twentieth century. For this volume, Lynne Tatlock translates for the first time into English three of the thirty-six meditations, restoring Catharina to her rightful place in print. These meditations foreground women in the life of Jesus Christ—including accounts of women at the Incarnation and the Tomb—and in Scripture in general. Tatlock’s selections give the modern reader a sense of the structure and nature of Catharina’s devotional writings, highlighting the alternative they offer to the male-centered view of early modern literary and cultural production during her day, and redefining the role of women in Christian history.

Book A Primer on the Absolute Primacy of Christ

Download or read book A Primer on the Absolute Primacy of Christ written by Maximilian Mary Dean and published by Academy of the Immaculate. This book was released on 2006-01-01 with total page 153 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Scotus' Teachings on Christ made simple This volume by Fr. Dean, FI is an excellent introductory summary of the well known Franciscan thesis, "The Primacy of Christ." Briefly stated, it is a thesis central to the doctrine and life of the Franciscan Order in particular and that of the Holy Church in general regarding the operation of God in the economy of salvation (Economic Trinity). The thesis stipulates the centraility of Christ in this Trinitarian operation as it presupposes the hierarchized ordering in the motive of the divine will. The uniqueness of this volume is the author's attempt to explain in simple language this theological doctrine for the non-professional theologians.
