Book Agricultural Internet of Things

Download or read book Agricultural Internet of Things written by Yong He and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-08-02 with total page 443 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Internet of things (IoT) is a new type of network that combines communication technology, expanded applications, and physical devices. Among them, agriculture is one of the most important areas in the application of the IoT technology, which has its unique requirements and integration features. Compared to the information technology in traditional agriculture, the agricultural IoT mainly refers to industrialized production and sustainable development under relatively controllable conditions. Agricultural IoT applies sensors, RFID, visual capture terminals and other types of sensing devices to detect and collect site information, and with broad applications in field planting, facility horticulture, livestock and poultry breeding, aquaculture and agricultural product logistics. It utilizes multiple information transmission channels such as wireless sensor networks, telecommunications networks and the internet to achieve reliable transmission of agricultural information at multiple scales and intelligently processes the acquired, massive information. The goals are to achieve (i) optimal control of agricultural production process, (ii) intelligent electronic trading of agricultural products circulation, and (iii) management of systematic logistics, quality and safety traceability. This book focuses on three levels of agricultural IoT network: information perception technology, information transmission technology and application technology.

Book Physical Foundations of the Millimeter and Submillimeter Waves Technique V 2

Download or read book Physical Foundations of the Millimeter and Submillimeter Waves Technique V 2 written by V. P. Ščestopalov and published by VSP. This book was released on 1997-08 with total page 262 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The developments in physics, biology and astronomy, as well as radar and communication technology, remote sensing and spectroscopy have led to a sharp increase in the investigations of electromagnetic millimeter and submillimeter waves with the lengths 10--1 and 1--0.1 mm. These volumes reflect the results of extensive research in this field and attempt to destroy stereotypes established during the long years of large-scale modeling in the millimeter and submillimeter wavelength ranges and to develop new concepts. The first volume (Open Structures) deals with the results of theoretical and experimental studies of open electrodynamic structures (open waveguides, open resonators, diffractional gratings) allowing the determination of the characteristics of various devices used in millimeter and submillimeter technology. The second volume (Sources. Element Base. Radio Systems: Novel Scientific Trends) presents the problems of creating independent units and radiosystems of the millimeter and submillimeter wavelength ranges and the justification of their physical operating principles. This includes the mechanism of generating volume waves by electron flows moving close to a grating, excitation of fields in open resonators and waveguides with inclusion, and other phenomena.

Book Laser Diode Modulation and Noise

Download or read book Laser Diode Modulation and Noise written by Klaus Petermann and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 1991-04-30 with total page 340 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Laser diodes represent a key element in the emerging field of opto electronics which includes, for example, optical communication, optical sensors or optical disc systems. For all these applications, information is either transmitted, stored or read out. The performance of these systems depends to a great deal on the performance of the laser diode with regard to its modulation and noise characteristics. Since the modulation and noise characteristics of laser diodes are of vital importance for optoelectronic systems, the need for a book arises that concentrates on this subject. This book thus closes the gap between books on the device physics of semiconductor lasers and books on system design. Complementary to the specific topics concerning modulation and noise, the first part of this book reviews the basic laser characteristics, so that even a reader without detailed knowledge of laser diodes may follow the text. In order to understand the book, the reader should have a basic knowledge of electronics, semiconductor physics and optical communica tions. The work is primarily written for the engineer or scientist working in the field of optoelectronics; however, since the book is self-contained and since it contains a lot of numerical examples, it may serve as a textbook for graduate students. In the field of laser diode modulation and noise a vast amount has been published during recent years. Even though the book contains more than 600 references, only a small part of the existing literature is included.
