Book The Comprehensive Repertory for the New Homeopathic Remedies

Download or read book The Comprehensive Repertory for the New Homeopathic Remedies written by Colin Griffith and published by Watkins Media Limited. This book was released on 2016-10-11 with total page 352 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: After nearly a quarter of a century's proof and research into new homoeopathic medicines, the dozens of new remedies that have been developed by the meditation circle of Janice Micallef RSHom are now presented as a desktop reference guide for any homoeopath with an interest in expanding the horizons of their art. Colin Griffith, a member of the homeopathic 'proving circle' since its earliest days, has laid out the book in a user-friendly manner to facilitate an easy search for the most appropriate remedy for both familiar and unfamiliar rubrics of symptoms. The accompanying lists of comparable 'old' remedies ensure that practitioners will not be tempted to view the new remedies as exclusively remedial in cases that may seem to call for something unusual. There are explanatory essays on how to use the repertory, on the association of remedies with the seven chakras and the seven major miasms, and a glossary of remedy names in both English and Latin to conform to universal usage. Each new remedy is also given a characteristic essential 'thumb nail' sketch to act as an additional guide.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Samuel Hahnemann was a German physician who created and introduced homeopathy, a system of alternative medicine which claims that a substance which causes diseases in some individuals can cure it in others. Writing in the early 19th century, Hahnemann set out the principles of homoeopathic medicine in a total of 297 aphorisms. Each of these discussed the various attributes of healing that underpin homeopathy as a method of curing. The notion of 'miasms' as the origin and cause of all chronic disease, and how such can be alleviated, is elaborated upon by the author. Today, homeopathy has been widely discredited, with its methodology and teachings contrasted with established discoveries in biology and chemistry. Numerous studies of homeopathy's efficacy have shown that the results of treatment are no better than placebo. In the 19th century however, its use was popular with Hahnemann himself contrasting his methods by terming conventional medicine 'allopathic'.
