Morton (1837-1819) was the son of Thomas Morton and Emilia Young. Thomas Morton dropped the "Throck" from his name when moving to Clay Co., W. Va. in 1820. George W. Morton married Elmyria Sizemore (1840-1886). He married (2) Liza Blount. He had eleven children. His son by his first wife, Jesse (1859-1922), married Mary Jane Carner (1859-1938) born in Summers Co., W. Va. Descendants live in West Virginia and elsewhere.
