Download or read book The Rigid Pavement Database written by Terry Dossey and published by . This book was released on 1998 with total page 62 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The rigid pavement (RP) database contains historical distress data obtained from more than 400 continuously reinforced concrete pavements (CRCP) and jointed concrete pavements (JCP) across the state of Texas. Data collection efforts began in 1974 and have been undertaken periodically up to the present. The database contents include such performance-related variables as punchouts, patches, spalling, ride score, crack spacing, and deflection basins, as well as such inventory variables as location, design thickness, coarse aggregate type, climate, soil characteristics, date of construction, and overlay status. Taken as a whole, the RP database comprises a unique asset for empirical investigation of factors affecting long-term pavement performance in Texas.

Download or read book Guide for the Local Calibration of the Mechanistic empirical Pavement Design Guide written by and published by AASHTO. This book was released on 2010 with total page 202 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This guide provides guidance to calibrate the Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide (MEPDG) software to local conditions, policies, and materials. It provides the highway community with a state-of-the-practice tool for the design of new and rehabilitated pavement structures, based on mechanistic-empirical (M-E) principles. The design procedure calculates pavement responses (stresses, strains, and deflections) and uses those responses to compute incremental damage over time. The procedure empirically relates the cumulative damage to observed pavement distresses.

This book was released on 2020-06-19 with total page 955 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book gathers the proceedings of an international conference held at Empa (Swiss Federal Laboratories for materials Science and Technology) in Dübendorf, Switzerland, in July 2020. The conference series was established by the International Society of Maintenance and Rehabilitation of Transport Infrastructure (iSMARTi) for promoting and discussing state-of-the-art design, maintenance, rehabilitation and management of pavements. The inaugural conference was held at Mackenzie Presbyterian University in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in 2000. The series has steadily grown over the past 20 years, with installments hosted in various countries all over the world. The respective contributions share the latest insights from research and practice in the maintenance and rehabilitation of pavements, and discuss advanced materials, technologies and solutions for achieving an even more sustainable and environmentally friendly infrastructure.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sponsored by the Highway Division of ASCE; Long-Term Performance Program of the Federal Highway Administration. This collection contains papers from the International Contest on LTPP [Long-Term Performance Program] Data Analysis 1998-1999. This competition involved university students in the analysis of data in the LTPP database. Topics include: effect of locked-in curvature on portland cement concrete pavement; evaluation of a pavement performance prediction model using LTPP data; prediction of pavement performance?a neural network approach; and effectiveness of preventative maintenance strategies for asphalt concrete pavements based on LTPP distress data.
Download or read book Concrete Pavement Design Construction and Performance Second Edition written by Norbert J. Delatte and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2014-05-22 with total page 450 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This second edition of Concrete Pavement Design, Construction, and Performance provides a solid foundation for pavement engineers seeking relevant and applicable design and construction instruction. It relies on general principles instead of specific ones, and incorporates illustrative case studies and prime design examples to highlight the material. It presents a thorough understanding of materials selection, mixture proportioning, design and detailing, drainage, construction techniques, and pavement performance. It also offers insight into the theoretical framework underlying commonly used design procedures as well as the limits of the applicability of the procedures. All chapters have been updated to reflect recent developments, including some alternative and emerging design technologies that improve sustainability. What’s New in the Second Edition: The second edition of this book contains a new chapter on sustainability, and coverage of mechanistic-empirical design and pervious concrete pavements. RCC pavements are now given a new chapter. The text also expands the industrial pavement design chapter. Outlines alternatives for concrete pavement solutions Identifies desired performance and behavior parameters Establishes appropriate materials and desired concrete proportions Presents steps for translating the design into a durable facility The book highlights significant innovations such as one is two-lift concrete pavements, precast concrete pavement systems, RCC pavement, interlocking concrete pavers, thin concrete pavement design, and pervious concrete. This text also addresses pavement management, maintenance, rehabilitation, and overlays.
