Book excerpt: This book on Rapidity: Time Management on the Dot is about a focused and adaptive approach to time management. The theme is to do something with rapidity. In ordinary parlance, rapidity is a noun denoting the attribute of doing something with great speed. Some favorite thesaurus options for rapidity are swiftness, quickness, speed, speediness, briskness, expeditiousness, dispatch, alacrity, promptness, and immediacy. Rapidity, as a conveyor of time management on the dot, implies an alignment of time, cost, and quality of getting things done. The book also covers the need to deal with a pandemic-disrupted landscape of time management. Several guides and tips are provided in the book.

Book The Twenty Fifth Hour

Download or read book The Twenty Fifth Hour written by Deji Badiru and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2020-02-13 with total page 86 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents an exciting introduction to the concept of creating a virtual 25th hour in the day as a technique for effective time management. Each human being, from the time of birth, will always be confronted with more and more things to do. Yet, the available time is not going to expand. Technically, this means there is always more to do than there is time to do them all. So, we desire more time. Unfortunately, each day is pegged, physically, at only 24 hours. Thus, the virtual 25th hour is needed. Going further more aggressively, a determined reader can even squeeze out a virtual 26th hour (or more) in the day.

Book excerpt: This is a math-mentoring book without the gory mathematical expressions. The intended purpose of this book is to allay the fear of mathematics that most people have. Math is actually a tame and fun ally in accomplishing a lot of things in life, such as investment, social networking, commerce, technology, engineering, and science. I encourage and spark the interest of young people, especially girls, to embrace Mathematics to their full potential. The inherent mathematical ability may be there, but the confidence and pathway to manifest and leverage the ability may not be known. One way to discover and elicit the underlying ability is through humor and cajoling, which is the purpose of this freeform book.

Book Margin of Death

    Book Details:

  • Publisher : iUniverse
  • Release : 2024-06-04
  • ISBN : 1663262934
  • Pages : 76 pages

Download or read book Margin of Death written by Deji Badiru and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2024-06-04 with total page 76 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Margin of Death is a cautionary note on death being a slim margin away in the activities we engage in. The book presents safety and life-preservation tips to avoid, minimize, or mitigate accidental disasters that could rob people of their precious lives. Although the topic is serious and unnerving, this book is written in a humorous tone, perhaps to put readers at ease. Life is always at risk from a variety of sources, ranging from accidental, negligent, and deliberate acts. While natural age-driven death is accepted, we should minimize exposure to other non-scheduled, life-robbing incidents, a majority of which are manmade. A near miss is the one we know about, but the narrow margins are the ones we never know.

Book excerpt: This book goes a little beyond being just another recipe book. It is a recipe book with a unique twist that delves into the fun and fellowship aspects of food preparation in the kitchen. Unlike most conventional recipe books, Kitchen Physics: Dynamic Nigerian Recipes takes readers through an intellectual path of cooking popular Nigerian foods. Food and recipes bring people together. Immigrants residing anywhere in the world connect with their original homelands through their continuing connection with their respective ethnic foods. No matter how long an immigrant has lived outside his or her home country, the excitement of relevant ethnic foods still persists. Even second, third, and fourth generation immigrants still connect with their parents original home countries through the appropriate ethnic foods. This fact is very much applicable to Nigerian immigrants anywhere in the world. The purpose of this book is to provide an avenue of connectivity to the ethnic origins of readers. He or she who is connected to the food is connected to the ethnic affiliation of the food. Not forgetting home means connecting with foods from home. Food and fellowship go hand in hand in the African culture. There are facts and fallacies of food all around the world, but it is often fellowship that gels everything together.

Book Physics of My Homemade Stockfish

Download or read book Physics of My Homemade Stockfish written by Deji Badiru and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2024-10-22 with total page 113 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a book about recreational experimentations with making homemade food products. The author narrates how he got into the exciting act of making Stockfish, which is air dried cod fish. The title of this book follows the topical titles of some previous book titles in the ABICS Publications series. Notably, Physics of Soccer, Physics in the Nigerian Kitchen, and Physics of Skateboarding. My website www.PhysicsofSoccer.com states that "Biology determines what we are, Chemistry explains what makes us what we are, and Physics describes what we do." In Stockfish making, chemistry and biology probably plays a bigger role than physics as a science. However, figuratively, “physics” of something is often used to refer to how something is done, as in how to execute the logistics and dynamics of making homemade food products.

Book Youth Soccer Training Slides

Download or read book Youth Soccer Training Slides written by Deji Badiru and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2014-05-30 with total page 123 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Soccer is the beautiful game, as widely recognized around the world. January 2014 statistics show that over 50 million youth play soccer worldwide. Early training of soccer means a lifetime of love of the sport. The enjoyment of soccer transcends mere involvement as a player, coach, fan, sponsor, dad, or mom. There are subtle lessons of life to be learned from soccer as a team sport. One aspect that is often ignored is the potential to use soccer to teach basic math and science principles, which are essential for later career paths in the technical fields. It is this void that prompted me to write this book as a way to leverage soccer training to spark the interest of kids and adults in the applications of math and science. Youth Soccer Training Slides: A Math and Science Approach is a sequel following my first soccer book of 2010 entitled Physics of Soccer: Using Math and Science to Improve Your Game. That first book was published to coincide with the 2010 FIFA World Cup Tournament Soccer in South Africa. This second book is written to coincide with the 2014 FIFA World Cup Soccer Tournament in Brazil. Although this book targets youth soccer training, it is quite suitable and recommended for adult soccer training as well. The technical principles are general enough to apply to all levels of soccer training. The presentation slides format of the book makes it amenable for pick-and-choose applications of specific training topics. In his 2014 book, the Great Pele of Brazil emphasizes Why Soccer Matters. In the opinion of this author, soccer, indeed, matters not only because of its socio-economic impacts around the world, but also because of the various other benefits it offers. Soccer matters because it is a thinking game and the ultimate team sport. The theme and premise offered by Youth Soccer Training Slides cover various math and science topics to enhance the understanding and enjoyment of the game.

Book Wreckless in the City

    Book Details:
  • Author : Deji Badiru
  • Publisher : iUniverse
  • Release : 2024-06-06
  • ISBN : 1663263604
  • Pages : 136 pages

Download or read book Wreckless in the City written by Deji Badiru and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2024-06-06 with total page 136 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The title “Wreckless in the City” is a humorous play on the words reckless (as in carelessness) and wreck (as in a traffic wreck). The hope is that with the lessons learned in this book, traffic wrecks due to recklessness could be reduced, if not eliminated, on city streets and beyond. Although the guide is primarily for teenage drivers, it is also applicable to all drivers (experienced adults included). Not only will readers learn about safe-driving tips and guidelines, the real science of physics, as it relates to motion, can also be appreciated. If I can get the reader’s initial attention through a humorous opening, I will have a chance of retaining the attention through the other critical steps of getting my point across. The goal is to have “wreckless” driving experiences in the city and everywhere else. Auto accidents are the leading cause of death among teenagers, particularly young men. Worldwide records show that every year, almost two million people are killed in road accidents and about 50 million more are seriously injured.

Book Physics of Skateboarding

Download or read book Physics of Skateboarding written by Deji Badiru and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2021-01-31 with total page 109 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Physics of skateboarding is presented as a motivational educational tool for skateboard enthusiasts of all ages. It addresses the fun, fellowship, and following of skateboarding. The journey of writing this book traced back to the previous ABICS Publications books with the theme of “physics of” an object of interest. We have seen “physics of soccer” and “physics in the kitchen.” Beyond writing this book as a sports-oriented book, we also designed it as a motivational tool of educational introduction to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Physics, as a science, is an essential part of human existence, whether in education, sports, industry, commerce, the home, and social settings. Physics is all around us and we should leverage it to have a better understanding of what we see, do, and experience.

Both commercial and personal cartoon products are used as the basis for communicating the messages in the book. The versatility of wives cannot be overstated. Download or read book Physics of Soccer Ii written by Deji Badiru and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2018-04-27 with total page 276 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Following up on the success of Physics of Soccer, this second volume, Physics of Soccer II, represents a comprehensive amalgamation of the various on-and-off-field attributes needed to be an excellent soccer player. Deji Badiru, a professional engineer and former soccer player and coach, notes that no matter how talented a player you are, if you cant be on the field, you cant make a contribution. So, it is crucial that you get yourself prepared mentally and physically to be on the field. Based on his personal experiences with soccer, this newest guide draws on all aspects of science, technology, engineering, math, and even the arts and humanities to help readers: use their minds to gain an edge over opponents; make appropriate on-field decisions based on science and mathematics; assess the capabilities of teammates and opponents from a scientic viewpoint; and capitalize on the geometry of the eld of play and the respective locations and placements of other players. Badiru views the field of play as a system of people, objects, and the environment, whose respective behaviors are governed by the laws of science. Put those laws to work for you with the lessons in Physics of Soccer II.
