From then until now, gamers have changed and All Things Zombie has changed with them.************Want a game where all you do is run around the table and kill Zombies? If you do, then All Things Zombie - Evolution is not for you. Think of all the great and not so great Zombie movies and television series. Remember how many Zombies the heroes killed? I'm betting you don't, but I bet you remember how they interacted with other survivors and how they finally overcame the obstacles in their way. In short, you remember the Story. And that's what All Things Zombie - Evolution is all about, the Story; your Story. All Things Zombie - Evolution sweeps you up and sticks you right in the middle of a catastrophic zombie outbreak. Who you are when the outbreak occurs is just as important as where you are. Because unlike other zombie games, where the zombies have been around for a while, you won't be able to tell the humans from the zombies until maybe it's too late. Because it's all happening to you just like it would on Day One. Confusion, chaos, and lack of information are just some of the challenges you'll face when the world starts to crumble. Will you have what it takes to survive the first 30 days? THEN WHAT?All Things Zombie - Evolution starts on the first day of the Outbreak, but then let's you continue your life, building your very own future. It's a game where every detail has been covered, as you first escape the soulless creatures that threaten you, then hunt them down and take back what's yours. On the way you'll find that your most dangerous enemies aren't the zombies, but are your neighbors and sometimes your old friends. Play All Things Zombie - Evolution solo, cooperatively against the game, or head to head against one another. Play it as a one off game or part of an ongoing campaign. Play it on the Tabletop or on the Battle Boards we've included. It doesn't matter which way you play it, as the goal of All Things Zombie - Evolution is to rebuild the world, as you knew it; except maybe this time with you in charge.Inside you'll find: Counters and two 8" x 10" Battle Boards. Book While I m Dead Feed the Dog

Download or read book While I m Dead Feed the Dog written by Ric Browde and published by . This book was released on 2000 with total page 274 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Imagine if J.D. Salinger had a sense of humour ... this intelligent, off-beat novel is fast-paced, wicked, dark and extremely funny. My publishers are trying to convince me that books are like albums and sell better when they are released posthumously. Seeing the point, I ask if I can at least fake my own death, but it seems that is fundamentally dishonest and they flatly refuse to be involved in any such fraud. So just in case I've croaked by the time you read this (and everyone but me is filthy rich), here is my story: one day I'm trying to get into the pants of the most beautiful girl in the world, Nina Pennington, and the next day I'm in the back of a limo on the road to rock'n'roll superstardom opening up for Bowie. But we hit a bump or two -- a few dead Mafia hitmen here, a nyphomaniac next door there, not to mention a few dying Latin teachers, narcoleptic nuns, inept policemen, unscupulous laywers, buffoon reporters, huckster televangelists and greedy relatives -- and now for some unknown reason a lot of people don't want to talk to me anymore. When sixteen-year-old Ric Thibault's story opens with his mother's attempted suicide note: While I'm dead... feed the dog and h

Book The Millionaire Next Door

Download or read book The Millionaire Next Door written by Thomas J. Stanley and published by Rosetta Books. This book was released on 2010-11-30 with total page 307 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How do the rich get rich? An updated edition of the “remarkable” New York Times bestseller, based on two decades of research (The Washington Post). Most of the truly wealthy in the United States don’t live in Beverly Hills or on Park Avenue. They live next door. America’s wealthy seldom get that way through an inheritance or an advanced degree. They bargain-shop for used cars, raise children who don’t realize how rich their families are, and reject a lifestyle of flashy exhibitionism and competitive spending. In fact, the glamorous people many of us think of as “rich” are actually a tiny minority of America’s truly wealthy citizens—and behave quite differently than the majority. At the time of its first publication, The Millionaire Next Door was a groundbreaking examination of America’s rich—exposing for the first time the seven common qualities that appear over and over among this exclusive demographic. This edition includes a new foreword by Dr. Thomas J. Stanley—updating the original content in the context of the financial crash and the twenty-first century. “Their surprising results reveal fundamental qualities of this group that are diametrically opposed to today’s earn-and-consume culture.” —Library Journal

Book Almost a Revolution

  • Author : Paul S. Appelbaum
  • Publisher : Oxford University Press, USA
  • Release : 1994
  • ISBN : 9780195068801
  • Pages : 260 pages

Download or read book Almost a Revolution written by Paul S. Appelbaum and published by Oxford University Press, USA. This book was released on 1994 with total page 260 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Doubts about the reality of mental illness and the benefits of psychiatric treatment helped foment a revolution in the law's attitude toward mental disorders over the last 25 years. Legal reformers pushed for laws to make it more difficult to hospitalize and treat people with mental illness, and easier to punish them when they committed criminal acts. Advocates of reform promised vast changes in how our society deals with the mentally ill; opponents warily predicted chaos and mass suffering. Now, with the tide of reform ebbing, Paul Appelbaum examines what these changes have wrought. The message emerging from his careful review is a surprising one: less has changed than almost anyone predicted. When the law gets in the way of commonsense beliefs about the need to treat serious mental illness, it is often put aside. Judges, lawyers, mental health professionals, family members, and the general public collaborate in fashioning an extra-legal process to accomplish what they think is fair for persons with mental illness. Appelbaum demonstrates this thesis in analyses of four of the most important reforms in mental health law over the past two decades: involuntary hospitalization, liability of professionals for violent acts committed by their patients, the right to refuse treatment, and the insanity defense. This timely and important work will inform and enlighten the debate about mental health law and its implications and consequences. The book will be essential for psychiatrists and other mental health professionals, lawyers, and all those concerned with our policies toward people with mental illness.

Book Danger to Self

Download or read book Danger to Self written by Paul Linde and published by Univ of California Press. This book was released on 2010-01-07 with total page 279 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The psychiatric emergency room, a fast-paced combat zone with pressure to match, thrusts its medical providers into the outland of human experience where they must respond rapidly and decisively in spite of uncertainty and, very often, danger. In this lively first-person narrative, Paul R. Linde takes readers behind the scenes at an urban psychiatric emergency room, with all its chaos and pathos, where we witness mental health professionals doing their best to alleviate suffering and repair shattered lives. As he and his colleagues encounter patients who are hallucinating, drunk, catatonic, aggressive, suicidal, high on drugs, paranoid, and physically sick, Linde examines the many ethical, legal, moral, and medical issues that confront today's psychiatric providers. He describes a profession under siege from the outside—health insurance companies, the pharmaceutical industry, government regulators, and even "patients' rights" advocates—and from the inside—biomedical and academic psychiatrists who have forgotten to care for the patient and have instead become checklist-marking pill-peddlers. While lifting the veil on a crucial area of psychiatry that is as real as it gets, Danger to Self also injects a healthy dose of compassion into the practice of medicine and psychiatry.
